Did Pete play for the first team...?
Yeah he played against Millwall away. I think it was the game after Mackay got sacked in 91. Tony Parkes was caretaker. He passes to Garner just before Johnrose scores.

Ewood Park is too big for Blackburn. A 15,000-20,000 capacity stadium would have been plenty.
This looks like it's been cut and paste from a claret/pne forum! 😅

Peter Baah too.

Apparently we'd sold about 1000 as of 12pm today.

Some will be, but not large amounts, as there is a large core of folk who only ever buy match tickets due to their commitments and general approach to match going.
I'm sure done your research on this Matty and hats off to you! Fingers crossed that the club are as on the ball as you are.

Not true. If one season ends with 8500 ST holders, and the season after we have 7,200, as there is always a similar numbers of walk ons, even if we are doing better on the pitch, the home crowd will have fallen by approximately that number in the following season.
Facts are facts, no ‘guessing’ from me.
I suppose the crux is how many of those 1300 walk ons were previously st holders.

Overall crowds don't fall because season tickets fall. They'll both fall or rise togther, mainly as a result of success on the pitch; they're both symptoms of the same thing.
Anyway, we're just guessing and surmising here. The source of truth will be the club's commericial and marketing teams. Or it should be!
Absolutely, if the walk ons were comprised of say approx 60% lapse season ticket holders and 40% pure walk ons, that's quite a different task than walk ons being approx 10% lapsed st holders and 90% pure walk ons.
And yes the club have got to get some kind of approximation to know what they're dealing with......even a bit of stats regression might do the job!

That’s it, Beafo.
Well hopefully the club have the data to ascertain that on an individual basis and know for definite. Its useful info!

The home crowd attendance figures over the seasons categorically state that isn’t the case, as I’ve said above, when x amount of ST holders don’t renew in a summer, the vast majority stop coming entirely, which is mirrored in a home crowd reduction the following season.
* Believe you me, I’m sad enough to have combed through the figures…
I thimk I can see your thinking here. ie that generally the people who are walk ons are always just walk ons......and the season tickets holders generally either buy one or just dont come at all and it's those that we need to attract?

No, it doesn’t usually work like that. If you look at our average gates through the seasons, whatever the increase or decrease has been in ST sales that summer, the average home crowd will mirror that increase or decrease.
Which makes sense, as many floating fans aren’t interested in a ST and will buy a match ticket when they fancy, with more of said floaters getting involved when we are doing well, whilst when a ST holder doesn’t renew they often just disappear entirely.
If I'm honest Matty, that doesn't make sense to me. Im no expert but that would mean that if we sold 10000 season tickets then an extra 3000 would be walks on that aren't currently walking on.

A million percent THIS. Just invites the opposition fans to take the piss, and gives me the impression that getting crowds of 13/14k is seen as a big achievement by the club, not a mere starting point in trying to re-build the fanbase.
And as for that PA announcer… ‘the officials have agreed 3 minutes of added time’… agreed with who?! Bring back the other (local) fella, not this fish out of water southern bloke who sounds like he’s never even been to a game of football before he somehow pitched up here.
But what I would say, night games pre Christmas were attracting about 8,800 home fans, so a 3k rise on that is a big positive, Boro the same, with both games on ‘proper’ Sky too.
I will labour my ongoing point, crowds are rising, and rising substantially, but from a very low base due to the terrible summer of season ticket sales were we scraped to 7k. If we still had the 10k+ ST holders of not that long ago, then last night would have seen us pushing a 17k crowd which would be plenty for a second tier night game.
This summer, we cannot, whatever division we end up in, have another sales debacle like summer 2021.
I hope you're right. If we had sold 10,000 season ticket, where would the current 3,000 extra be coming from? Surely most of them are people who decided against a season ticket in the first place. Meaning that the extra 3000 we would needed to reach 17,000 would be people who haven't started coming back.

But we didn't put on suncream, everybody knows that. That decision was taken, right at the start of the holiday. Does that mean we shouldn't put the Aloe Vera on now? Does it mean we should spent the next 13 days of the all-inclusive discussing the error in judgement?
To me a closer analogy is that you know you need suncream but the person with the suncream doesn't put it on for you. You're powerless to do anything and so as a result you don't trust thay person and worry about their reliability from that point on.

People said the exact thing about a guy who just scored 20 goals in 23 appearances.
They also said the same thing before he’d had a consistent run of games.
They also said the same when he was playing out of position.
Perhaps it’s better to be open minded about what SG can achieve if he’s given a fair crack, in his best position, in hope that he won’t be picking up any more niggling injuries.
Absolutely!!!

I will always want Mowbray gone. Results will not change my opinion of him.
Genuine qurstion pal but if you're not judging him on results is it down to something like his involvement in the training ground sale. I can def understand your thinking if so.

One of those two divisions we are hovering between, we've never been in and the other for only 7 years. There's plenty of muck you could chuck at us, but that's just factually incorrect.

Most of the info is on the website - this is a useful page https://www.roverstrust.com/about-us/
I would add that the more members the trust has, the louder it’s voice will be. We have done a lot of work behind the scenes but we want to step things up now and once I’ve recovered from a forthcoming operation I will be tasked with increasing membership, which I will do 😉
Many people were prepared to pay around a tenner to stream a Rovers game from an empty stadium last season - it’s not a lot to ask to pay the same amount for annual membership and to try and protect the club and it’s heritage.
I’ll get off my soap box for now but as above - DM me if you want any further details and I know that John, the chair of the Trust is always happy for people to contact him for info too at chair@roverstrust.co.uk
Every credit to you pal. Fans of the future will benefit from the selfless time that you and others are putting in.
