Hearing suggestions from the Coventry side that the game on Tuesday will go ahead at the CBS, but will be the last game they play there for a while. Not 100% confident in the source but that's the suggestion I've got.

Said this on twitter the other day, really happy to see an upturn in Harry Pickering's performances, doesn't get much credit but has been a pretty strong performer this last month or two.

Not an awful performance, but clearly lost that game in the midfield, in hindsight we needed either a back 3 or a holding midfielder today.
All the attackers looked pretty bright today, liked the look of Hirst.
Bar Travis the defence was pretty strong, nice to see Pickering playing well, not a backline that deserved to concede 3 today.
Left far too open on counter attacks, extra man back either in the midfield or defence would've done us the world of good.
At least we're creating a few decent chances finally! Onto Wigan.

Why ?
Because we made the silly decision of loaning Brown our first

Because he is a tidier midfielder than edun to keep the ball when we are seeing a game out
Honestly doubt he is, awful player

Two released players today, Danny rose and josh Harrop, wouldn’t be against either on a years contract
Pass on rose, MAJOR pass on Harrop

The English Game was perfect for us to capitalise on as well, should've had a Marquee match Vs Darwen at Ewood in old school kits or something.
would've had about 5k people watching at most

Don’t know where this idea Hyam generally plays on the left of a back 3 has come from, it was either CCB or RCB when he was at Coventry

I'd imagine it'll be 3 if BBD stays, 4 if he leaves, more would've been nice but I'm pretty happy with that window, of course dependent on the quality of said players, should be enough incomings to leave us with a decent amount of depth.

Really don't agree with the suggestions that a left back is 'priority', the priorities are filling the gaps in the squad, then we can focus on strengthening areas thar are weak in quality.

On loan in league one.
A decent amount, next step in his development is the championship

16 senior goals in his career. 13 of those in league 1.
15 of those last season, so 15 goals in his most recent season

If those wages are being put to better use, then fair enough. We'll have an idea by Thursday night.
I'd imagine we've seen movement one one of the Dutch centre halves.

Looks like one conversation was enough for Caulker to say no thanks to the project. Can't blame him for wanting to go and play under Pirlo, I suppose.
Let's hope there are other options lined up. I think if it is a case of SVDB or Van Hecke it's likely to be the former due to his versatility.
Think the more likely scenario is he was a plan B that is no longer needed...

List of potential striker targets I drafted at the start of July, whittled itself down pretty fast

The more i think about it the more i can back the Hirst signing

I’m ok with that if he’s better than Hedges. That’s how you improve teams.
Waste of money to ‘improve’ in a position that we’re already strong in

archer was at preston last season🤣he`s not exactly haaland
coventry are skint, though i admit he could be out of our reach
hardie is a proper target man, good finisher and good header of the ball as well
Every team in the championship would take Archer

cameron archer (on loan)
hardie from plymouth
gyorkes from coventry (bit optimistic)
thats three for a start who are better options,at least they score goals
Archer unrealistic
Gyokeres VERY unrealistic
Hardie of a similar level to Hirst

I’m not a massive fan of Hirst but judging him off his time at Rotherham is a bit selective…

When was the last time we signed , not loaned , signed a player that was an upgrade on what we had ? Not a replacement for a player who left

Rothwell was good but he wasn't THAT good

Neither Rothwell nor Lenihan are worth breaking the wage structure for

Think the shift to a back 5 has helped his confidence massively, some really strong cover to compensate for his biggest weakness, his recovery speed. Good to see him performing well in a back 4 now too though, agree it certainly helps having a creative left footed midfielder to help link things up with him and BBD.
