Pears has been class this year in cup. He got MOM against forest conceding 4 goals because he was pulling off saves left eight and centre 😂

Just a shame the first draw came from a game we were winning rather than coming back from behind

Also on the subject of mentality. I know we don’t have the best squad but that’s no excuse, I bumped into Matty Jansen the year Leicester won the league and was chatting to him about it, he said the reason they’ll win the league is because of the togetherness and the fight in the team, they’re not the best team on paper but they’re working and fighting for each other as a team. He said that’s exactly what Rovers had when we won the Worthington cup, said we weren’t the best team but the group of players fought so hard for each other that it didn’t matter. 
 

For me that’s exactly what we are lacking, fighting mentality, squad doesn’t have to be the best In This league to go up. If JDT and his back room staff downplay promotion as much in the dressing room as they do in the media then IMO that’s exactly why we are performing the way we are because it’s not a main goal for the team players 

I have to disagree with the ‘I would have settled for 10th before the season started’ 

In sport you have to constantly assess as you go and adapt, you can’t be as one dimensional  as we are. You’ve got to learn to fight and adapt, learn to win ugly when you don’t have your best stuff 

Lets relate it to golf for example, you think if someone is top 3 in a tournament after making a bunch of birdies front 9 then make the turn, they make a couple bogeys and go ‘ah well I would have settled for tenth before I teed off’ and just accept you’ll keep making bogeys? Do they buggery! They fight, they assess the position they’re in and they give everything! 
 

Rovers got off to a good start first half of the year, we have to asses where we were and try kick on, if we have the mindset we would have taken tenth so it doesn’t matter then we will never get anywhere in sport because that mentality isn’t good enough. 
 

Mentality was piss poor last year second half of the season, all this ‘15 cup finals’ bullshit is exactly why we fell apart! We changed our mindset from what got us there and started playing like it meant everything, absolutely the worst thing you can do in elite sport, makes you tighten up, become tentative, you lose the instinct and overthink things and we all saw that for ourselves 

If Watford, Middlesbrough or Millwall win (playing each other) and Sunderland do then we’ll be out the playoffs as easy as that. Sunderland have positive g/d and we don’t so they be level on point about above on g/d.

Overreacting to a football match is us losing 1-0 a few times. 

We’ve just lost 4-0 to a relation battling team and have shipped 4 a few times in the last ten games. I think it’s completely justified to be questioning things 

How many times this season have we been beaten by more than 2?

I said back in about October the jury was out for me on JDT, I’ve seen enough now. I watch every game and it’s getting a joke. 
 

The fact we go a goal behind and can’t do anything to comeback ever, lack of right, we should be playing quick football instead of passing it around the back 4. We have high possession but it’s only the bloody back 4 touching the ball

They look like a manager less team. Absolutely no plan. The passing around at the back makes me sick, the slow football, it goes against everything that winning games is about 

Not sure why we don’t say Markanday more often. Thought this when I’ve been to cup games and see him, he’s quick and very tricky, makes a chance from watching to slow motion football we see.
