  1. Heartbreaking end. Seeing first hand two 94/94th minute equalisers against us in the circumstances is hard to take. Thought we were good today, Szmodics was superb. Also think Morton had a good game playing in that 3.
We could still make play offs, the goal the other night was unlucky to go against us and fuck me that was unlucky today. Football and sport is unpredictable, so many teams around us faltering, we’ve just got to keep going. You never know what can happen.
Wasn’t happy with JDT subs on Wednesday but agree he’s done a great job with us this year.
Keep your heads held high Rovers.

Edit: forgot to mention the fans were superb today from the first minute.

I agree with all of that Miller11.

I’m not particularly angry with the players this morning as some posters seem to be. I do feel sorry for them. To a man they worked their socks off. There were a lot of excellent performances and I really don’t think they could have done much more than they did. We are what we are, the players are who they are. Any shortcomings in this squad are entirely at the feet of the club management.

Keep putting the effort in for the remaining games. Make use of Wharton who’s a rolls Royce of a player. The lad has a technique as good as any young player we’ve had for as far back that I can remember. Enjoy him, he won’t be here long.

Whartons awareness is incredible. He seems to know exactly where a player bounding down on him is before he even gets the balls. Seems to have his decision on what he’ll do and who he’ll pass before the ball gets to him.
Also think he reads the game well and gets into positions to break play up when the other team have the ball

Yeah jdt overall I've been happy with for the most part. Look at some of the players we've lost in the last couple of seasons. Off the top of my head. Armstrong, Johnson, holtby, downing, nyambe, lenihan, rothwell, bell, Evans, Bennett, williams, graham and mulgrew.

Not saying they were all brilliant but they were starters and squad players. Vastly more experienced than what we currently have. We hopefully have at least three really good prospects coming through. In Wharton, Phillips and Leonard. It's an exciting time to be a fan of this club with just those three breaking into the first team.

The fact we're anywhere near top six with our squad is incredible. It doesn't mean that we should be like oh well we wer never expected to get in the play offs. For the last two years we've been there or there abouts. We're as good as Millwall or Luton. The manager should be desperate to make top six and then it's the lottery of the play offs. I think he's just comes across as calm whatever the result. Which can be frustrating for us as fans. But must be reassuring for such a young inexperienced squad. I'll wait until the season of finished before judging him as a manager but there has been far more good than bad this season.

In fairness he comes across as calm but I have seen him getting very irate and moaning at fourth official a lot (sit near dugout) so I think it’s just his way of coming across as professional as he can. He definitely does care

  4. I’m happy with JDT. Think we’ve massively overachieved this season. He’s got some players who were completely out of form turning themselves around and playing great stuff. Think we’ve done well this season. Frustrating at times for aura like last night but 6th with a hand full of games to go. Two good cup runs. I think it’s a very positive season for us and if he gets backed on summer I think we have a lot to be excited about for next year.

I think if we got a striker and LOB in on January, I think we’d be in a better position than now

  5. Just got home from that. Sorry but we got what we deserved after those pathetic substitutions.
Game was being played in their half for 75 minutes or whatever it was we made the first subs. We were comfortable. Gallagher gets injured, I’d have put Leonard and Dolan for Gallagher and Diaz and that’s it.

Soon as we made those subs you could see what was coming. Changed the game and not in a good way, they were all over us and we sat back and got dominated. Feel before the changes we could have got a second. As soon as those subs were made that was it. The game wasn’t even asking for it ffs! We were so comfortable.

Players were good tonight, the result COMPLETELY rests on the managers shoulders tonight.

p.s. it’s criminal we’ve only seen A.Wharton in five games since November. Head and shoulders above Morton. He’s proven that every time he’s stepped on the pitch

Can this bunch of players do something they've not done this season?  Win under pressure, real pressure.  This is a shit or bust match in my opinion.

I know where my money is going., Cov double chance win or draw.  Hope to lose my coin.

This is the game we all want to see us come out swinging with a quick tempo.

Is making your feelings known about a poor performance any more embarrassing than saying it’s embarrassing on an internet message board?

The fans get behind the players, that’s a given. The players also need to give the fans something to get behind.
I swear down, we must have the largest self-hating fan base in the world….

If we’d been pumped 4-1 like against Preston fair enough but not booing at half time 0-0 when we are 6th in the league this late in the season.

I understand that people want to let their feelings known but I’m sorry booing when we are level at half time is embarrassing.

It’s alright saying we should win this game and win that game etc etc but that’s not how sport works.

I am as frustrated as everyone else but I won’t boo our own players.

If we’d said we’d be in  This situation at the start of the year we would have all taken it.

Never slated our fans at all, said they were shit etc, just talking about those booing the other day.  I’ve been to every game since Stoke apart from Birmingham game and can say the fans have been class

  8. Let’s get behind the boys tonight. We aren’t ready for playoffs watching the last bunch of games but we could still do it.
Failure to recruit in Jan has hindered us and some injuries to important players hasn’t helped us.
Let’s keep supporting them till the end, this is sport and nothing is a dead cert, anything can happen.
If you’re going to boo at half time if it’s 0-0 do us a favour and stay at home. No one wants to hear that pettiness. You really think that’s going to help make players play well? Embarrassing

A keeper never comes out for the ball without a loud shout. Seems like Carter to blame for that one. Although, if he hadn't heard the shout then he did good defending. We'll never know.

Im pretty sure I remember Carter turning around and kind of apologising. But then Hyam was in Pears ear at the corner I remember that saying something to him.
But like I say I’m certain I heard Pears shout

He’s getting the blame because for me him and Carter contrived to give them a soft corner thanks to a total lack of communication.  It was Pears ball to come for all day long yet Carter obviously had not received a shout and felt he had no other option than to deal with the ball.

The less said about the defending from the corner the better.

Pretty sure I heard Pears shouting it was his ball when we gave that corner away

Just seen the incident with the ball boy again, he threw the ball away and not to Dolan.

He deserved a slap to be honest.

Before that he faked to throw it Dolan as well then threw it away. Full deserved what he received. Ref went to speak to the linesman right in front of me and I imagine linesman said he’s provoked Dolan and that why he just got a warning.

  12. Enjoyed the day out today. First half made me mad, second half was super enjoyable. Should have walked away with 3 points.
JRC immense, everyone was getting forward and we had so many chances.
Leonard looked good when he came on, very pleased with what I saw.
Huddersfield’s time wasting was pathetic and in the end karma got them with them conceding a late goal.
Football needs to stamp this out of the game, it’s a disgrace no matter who does it. It needs changing and I’m sorry the officials have to do more. Ref didn’t do a thing today, thought he was very poor all game.
Very happy to see JDT saying to the officials at the end ‘what about fucking time wasting?’ Repeatedly to the ref after the game when watching it back.
Also as bad as this sounds, I enjoyed seeing Dolan push the ball boy over, your job is to get the ball back in play not be a smart arse. Got what he deserved

The detractors are going to hate to hear this, but the downturn in form coincided with Morton coming back into the team to replace the injured Buckley.

For all his faults, Buckley is able to play on the half turn - I don't think I've ever seen Morton turn his marker. A. Wharton came on for the last 20 minutes and caused them all sorts of problems 'cos he's willing to pass, move and turn on the ball.

JDT and Reijnierse have already determined that Travis can't play on the half turn - that's why whenever we're playing it out from the back now they have Travis either alongside Szmodics (running into space), or switch him with JRC. Sadly you can't hide both of your non-ball playing CMs.

Just saying it wasn’t Morton’s fault today, Everyone was garbage.

100% agree we looked miles better with Buckley, was at Stoke when he went off injured and rightly so I was worried about his injury meaning Morton came back in.

Again agree about Wharton, was so much better when he came on, he gets stuck in in fairness and passes it well. Frustrates me how little he’s played since THAT Blackpool game away.

  14. Just got home.
This game very much reminded me of Stoke home last season, late in The season needing a performance, concede an early goal and never look like doing anything after.
Players looked on completely different wavelengths to each other today. Can’t blame this one on Morton either. Everyone was garbage really besides Pears who couldn’t have done anything with the two goals.

Think we should be playing Dolan personally instead of BBD. He is so lazy off the ball right now, doesn’t track back and when he does may as well not be there because he won’t go near anyone. A few times Gallagher and Szmodics pressed and they just went down our left because Brereton stayed. Szmodics had a right pop at him for it.

Back to passing it around between Carter and Hyam, no urgency whatsoever going forward. Was very disappointed thing to watch after the quick paced football we’d been playing going forward for the last few weeks. Very much worry for Burnley game if we are going to play that slow going nowhere football
