It’s so frustrating because like others before him, we’ve managed to luckily stumble across a solid spine of the team. Travis, Tronstad, Hyam, Batth, Carter, Beck, Brittain are all solid championship heads to build a team and squad around. They don’t need much help to be top 2 threateners never mind top 6. The issue is and always has been their reluctance to invest anywhere in the top end of the pitch. The back 4 and 2 sitting in front are as good as any team in the league, as we’ve seen when they’ve played together. The front 4 are possibly worse than top 6 of league one standard never mind championship.
Once this lot run their contracts down we’ll be back to square one and rebuilding another team and yet again hoping they fluke their recruitment to get us some semi decent bodies in. We’re now pretty much out of sellable assets, and the ones that are, are into their last 12/18 months of contracts.
Waggott, Gestede (less so) and Suhail are cancers on the club, sucking it dry to keep their circa £1million a year wages/bonuses combined. But they’re nothing but yes men, clearly out of their depth, dulling down the expectations of fans and creating narratives to keep themselves in jobs. Nothing will change until the owners decide they’ve had enough of their play thing and shut the taps off and it’s boring now.
I’d snap your hand off for a mid table League Two club with a good ownership group and infrastructure of the club to this circus we currently have. There are of course those who echo the ‘be careful what you wish for’ bollocks, and it is just that, bollocks. I don’t have to be careful what I wish for whatsoever. If we’re only in the championship to take part, then there’s really no point being in it at all.
It doesn't matter to me what level we go down to, or what name the club gets rebranded under, whoever represents the town of Blackburn and plays in blue and white halves will have my support. If I have to hear one more interview with Waggott telling me I should be grateful for those cunts in Pune I think I will have to cut my season ticket up into tiny pieces and place them in every cake I see in the directors box in hope one makes its way into his half time slice and ruins the wankers day.

Hello all, just wondered if anyone else had heard the whispers regarding a downgrade of the academy ahead of next season to remove Cat A status? Seems a few of us have heard the same things, wondered if anyone else had heard similar?

Yea I’ve heard this aswell. As of next season no Cat A
Thought I was the only one. Jack’s last legacy destroyed by the Pune Poons

Whilst I can understand the temptation to ring Waggott and give him your opinion, I can't allow his phone number to be shared here publicly. Please don't do this!
I’ll take an address? I’m not picky

Not especially important but interesting that JE’s release clause has seemingly been triggered on the first anniversary of his appointment. Perhaps it only became active after a year?
Perhaps, but he wouldn’t be the first manager that came on the premise there was either a buyout or a break clause in it. I remember Lambert having one that he could cancel at any moment. Think it’ll be a common theme with whoever we appoint.

Loving the naivety that he still might stay.
Ridiculous that he has taken training and it hasnt been sorted since full time yesterday.
No chance he’d take training for me. Off you pop to your relegation threatened team. We should have new names being interviewed this morning.

Not meaning to stir the pot more and possibly the wrong thread, has anyone else heard the same whispers that they’re contemplating not renewing the academy’s Category A status next year? Heard it about 3/4 weeks ago but don’t recall seeing much elsewhere

Same source that leaks the teams news... Steve Cooper is at the game, set to replace Eustace.
Heard it all now! (Not discrediting you btw, I know how it looks when some info you hear doesn’t come off 🤣)

It’s not pretty shit. It’s an indictment for just how terrible our owners and CEO are.
Both things can be true. He wouldn’t care if we went down once he left so I’d be be inclined to extend that courtesy.

I’d thank Eustace for his work here, but would absolutely hope he and Derby didn’t earn another point this season. Can’t blame him for leaving, but as fans to leave us whilst in a playoff ‘race’ (we won’t finish 6th), it’s pretty shit.

Clubs in 22nd place don’t come knocking for a manager of a 6th placed side without some serious encouragement to do so. The writing was on the wall all through January (3 people on here I argued with who were adamant Adam Forshaw was a ‘Eustace signing’ 🤣🤣🤣)
Add the Sigurdsson situation on top of it as well 12 players out of contract/returning to clubs in summer, it may well be an ‘anywhere will do’ type scenario for Eustace. He’ll go and keep Derby up, and then another rebuild there and his stock will still be high if a real big team fancy him. I full expect this deal to be done, and from the whispers/sounds I’ve heard today, so do the dressing room.

I wouldn’t unregister Sigurdsson. We have 3 left backs in that squad now, you’d think Pickering made most sense.

Aiming for pre season of this summer. But not currently in the 25 man squad anyway I believe?

Im so confused how we have just 1 slot left in our squad yet have to pack the bench with youngsters every game.
Cos Sigurdsson, Wharton, Carter, Tronstad, Ohashi and Pickering are all part of that number!

I’m gonna go out on a limb and suggest that this cheap Woodrow signing won’t hit any magical last minute hiccups.
I’m also no one’s go out on a limb and suggest this expensive Dennis signing WILL hit some magical hiccups.

I thought the Forshaw/Sanderson signings were so that we could ‘concentrate the funds’ we had on attacking options?

At least Shankland has scored goals. I’d take him over Woodrow if it was one or the other
Sorry couldn’t resist, it really is like picking between two blokes to have a do on your wife.
If after a full month’s transfer window the answer to their question is Cauley Woodrow then they need a psychiatric evaluation, every single one of that transfer team, including the new faces are muppets.

Our rivals for signing Woodrow are the mighty Barnsley by the way. We are trying to steal mid table league one teams’ targets. I am logging off until tomorrow I’m a Chaddy post away from exploding.

Meanwhile, we understand that Rovers have explored a deal for Luton Town forward Cauley Woodrow.
The Hatters are open to a potential deal, although it remains to be seen how close an agreement is ahead of tonight’s deadline at 11pm.
Woodrow was left out of the squad against Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend amid speculation over his future.
“Cauley’s had lots of transfer interest this week," said manager Matt Bloomfield.
"We've bought Thelo (Aasgaard) in who was going to start in that number 10 option which Cauley can play, and again it just felt the right thing with what’s been going on.
“I think Cauley is an absolute diamond by the way. He’s a proper Luton guy.
“He doesn't want to leave, but he's had some interest this week, so we just felt it was the right thing for him not to be involved today. But if nothing goes through he's part of our group and we’re really happy to have him.”
Woodrow started out at Luton before heading to Fulham, where he made his senior debut and had loan spells at Southend, Burton, Bristol City and Barnsley.
He joined the latter on a permanent basis in 2019 and spent the next three years at Oakwell, ending up with a record of 53 goals in 157 games for the club.
The forward returned to Luton in the summer of 2022 but has only made 15 starts, scoring six goals.
The Hatters have also confirmed the signing of Norwegian striker Lasse Nordas from Tromso this evening.

Speaking of Mowbray, and apologies this is completely off topic, I read Utd played Mainoo has a false 9 yesterday. Memories of Bradley Johnson doing the same...
Please don’t ever bring that up again.
I also went to Reading and saw Ryan Giles and Khadra as a front 2 of a back 5.
Eustace…he gone…*official*

Togetherness he reiterated throughout his tenure, players working so hard he said throughout. Those same players, let down by their manager jumping ship whilst in the playoff places for slightly more money and an hour longer in bed. A day after telling another player (Sigurdsson) that he wasn't in his squad instead of letting someone else come in and make the decision. Doesn't reflect great on him either. Thanks for the memories (?) John, but you're now in the same bracket as Lambert.
