  1. For me the real reason I wouldn't play Pedersen is that he looks ridiculously light weight in the premiership and every time I have seen him play he is just easily brushed off the ball. He has shown nothing as yet for Rovers and needs to adapt to the training regime and play in the reserves before he comes into the first team.

I REALLY hope Hughes get somebody to bash him about in training to give him some fight whilst working on building his upper body strength. He could well be very good, but right now he just isn't a premiership player. I'd hate to see him up against one of the best right backs in the world in Ferreira on Saturday, because he'd just be played out of the game. He isn't ready.

Sure, and Jansen/Emerton @ left wing will make Ferreira look like a schoolboy. Right.

  2. Rover6, Pedersen has been distinctly poor when he's had the opportunity. What would you have the manager do, play all the poorest players hoping they might turn out to be better than what they have shown. Can't see how that's gonna help.

At the moment, Morten Gamst Pedersen looks like he wont hack it in the Premiership. He will however still get the odd appearance, when he does he'll have to show that he's worth his place. Up to now, he isn't.

And Neill, Gray, Reid, Jansen, Amo, Matteo, Tugay, Ferguson and Dickov HASNT been poor?

When MGP shines in the international matches, does that tell you anything? HE NEEDS SUPPORT and will gain confidence for everytime he starts a match or gets on as a sub.

Hughes is being ignorant as fck.

  3. He played left midfielder in a flat 4-4-2 formation.

Btw, Slovenia beat ITALY with all their stars on Sunday, so outplaying them isnt bad. I heard the back MGP was playing against tonight tucked in zambrotta (i think it was him) last sunday!

  4. "I have trained a bit extra"..."I have always done that". Well the boy is certainly confused.

Erm, what? If he's always trained extra when he's left out of the team?

I know youre french, but surely, your enlighs understanding could be better.

  5. They are saying it was ball to hand. That if someone fires a shot from 10 yards out then he can't help it if his hands are by his side and can't get them out of the way on time. wink.gif

Stop moaning about the penalty-issue. Charlton had the exact same thing in the 1st half. How can a player remove their arm from 2 meters? And NO, holding the hand there ISNT an "un-natural" placement of the arm! Holding the arm into you body is.

We lost because we sucked, and the players used sucked. Bad managing.

dont talk like a knob!!!their claim was arm tucked away and no way of moving away...our shout was with arm stuck out to the ball !!!

bad management how the fk do you work that out?we hit the post and had 64_% possesion bad finishing maybe ...but management f me with a cactus ...your talking @#/?

We cant moan about penalties when were in div 1. I'll give them a chance, of cource, but now im just frustrated.

div 1 2 or 3 what does it matter i will be there

so youll enjoy it? do you WANT us to go down?

  7. Sorry cuidado, Charlton weere doing everything MGP is showing he struggles against at present. They press, close down and make the player on the ball think and move quickly.

Based on the Man U and Pompey games, MGP would have been a passenger out there tonight.

You'll never know with Hughes as a manager, though. All the journalists ive talked to says hes been amazing in pratice as well. Jesus.

  9. Morten started against Pompey because Hughes asked Souey for the starting XI, he has even said that.

Unbelievable. We even had one sub left!!! We could have taken Amo our or something, we needed a goal!!! Whats the use with 999 strikers with no man providing the crosses?

  10. The thing is, MGP HAS everything we lacked tonight, so i cannot believe that he was not brought on.

We needed good people in the air, Morten is a good header. We needed flair, crosses, finishing skills, and those clever little passes that could open any defence. And we dont bring on MGP. I mean, we even had one sub left!!!!

Was Hughes expecting his old mate Jansen to SUDDENTLY score a goal? Nothing tells me he would. And why do people keep on telling Bothroyd was good? You cant expect much from a player! He had the ball 4-5 times, yes he didnt lose it, but everyone can do a pass backwords!!!

Emerton even had to drift to the left when Jansen was out of position. I am so dissapointed now, cant believe that hughes. If he doesnt play him next match im wondering if Morten is shagging his wife or anything. I cant see any other reason.

  11. Do you want him to play MGP every single game?even when he is still not settled in.Maybe taking him out for one game will get him to push on harder.

I was surprised too.But one game doesnt mean his career for us is over!

Two games under hughes, and hasnt started one. Gets a good match as a sub, but gets benched again. Doesnt get the chance when the club is under 1-0, needs flair, crosses, heading ability++. Tugay and bothroyd gets on!

    Truly amazing. Truly.

  12. I simply cannot believe that Morten wasnt brought on today. You talk about penetrating power, and you want to keep TUGAY in the team? And what about Jansen? Stead? Bothroyd? Pedersen is amuch better player than those players and he doesnt even get the chance.

I really really hope Mark Hughes wont ruin one of europes brightest prospects. Unbelievable.

  13. Hi everyone. A video exclusive of Morten Gamst Pedersen is now available for download at Tromsø’s website (if you are not aware of it already). The 5-minute special was made by the world-known television football magazine Fútbol Mundial and has been/will be broadcasted in more than 150 countries. Notice: The file is large (60 mb), so it might take a while to download, depending on your connection. MGP is interviewed in this video (+ some former teammates and manager) and you will see some of his goals for Tromsø this season.

    MGP video

I’m from Tromsø, Norway, myself and I have followed the team closely for more than 10 years. MGP was probably the greatest talent I’ve seen on our team. In some matches he was outstanding (in fact versus the best teams, Rosenborg, Viking, Lillestrøm etc.) and he’s also proven himself well against international opposition. His only weakness was the stability, but during this season he has performed very well almost every match (before he was sold).

Knowing MGP as a player, I would be very surprised if he doesn’t succeed in the Premier League. As you all have said, he might and probably will need time to adjust. He also did when we bought him 4 years ago, but he developed into a great player.

So I hope you have patience in Morten and I’m sure he will “bloom” eventually!

I posted this the day it was aired on sky, even ripped it myself, and til.no stole the link.

  14. Here's some info from that interview.

    - It was fun to score, allthough that doesnt help the club. But i will have to appreciate the good "feelings" and things.

-I'm chasing for appartements in the Bolton or Manchester area, its the closest to a big airport, and Ole Gunnar and John Arne lives near by, so that would be ideal. Blackburn also seems like good place, its like a small village - people are nice.

-Hughes has got more control of the trainings. Ive developed a good relationship with Niedzwiecki allready, we've talked about getting in the box more often. The new coaches seem to like using the wingers alot, and thats good.

-Its intence. Effort is important. If you work very hard and miss a chanc, they tell you that it was unlucky, Pedersen laughs.

    - I'll have to try to do the same things i did it in Norway.

    - I reckon i will start the match against Charlton. Ive started every match in the PL, and got a good match as a sub against bournemouth. I've just got to believe in myself.
