  1. I think so, here is his season stats.

Started all 18 league games since 12th April this year.

    9 league goals

    4 league assists

6 league "third last on the ball" <- 5 long quick throws (aka manure-goals)

    2 yellow cards

Appeared in 3 cup games, started all games.

    3 cup goals

    Played 11 friendlies

    7 goals

    Caps 2004: 5

    2 goals

    U21 caps 2004: 4

    4 goals

  2. chrsit I must have missed the goal against real madrid !

    get over it

manure are NOT the biggest club in the land

in fact they are the 3rd rated team in England at the moment, possibly bordering on 4th or 5th.

"stand up if you hate manure....stand up if you hate manure...." rolleyes.gif

thats why i said biggest and not best. they undoubtedly have a bigger fanbase around the world, and healthier economy (- chelski).

  3. It's too early to judge Enkelman (however you spell it)

    He's from Finland Sidders wink.gif

  4. He's been crap so far and I'm usually patient with new signings.

From what I've seen I prefer De Pedro.

He did well against manyoo and i don't think any played well vs newcastle. At least give the guy 5 or 6 games before you send him packing, he is a good player!

I'm sure he will be, though I thought he was awful against ManU.

Getting an assist against the "biggest" club in the world after half a training sessions isnt that bad.

  5. Ooooh, get her!

I just said it was too early to judge him. By 'eck, these vikings are a tetchy lot. He does look like a member of Busted though.

He could look like a member of Wham for all i care, as long has he delievers the goods.

  6. Can't, as my source is orally. We'll just have to wait and see till tomorrow, im not even 100% yet biggrin.gif

What is the obsession around here in passing off gossip and possibilities as facts?!?! Don't label a topic "Hughes New Manager" until its official. We all remember how it took from the start of the "MGP Signs" thread to when he did actually sign.

MGP did sign. Hughes did sign.

  7. Signed for Rovers about 20:30 english time. He will take control after the Portsmouth match, and will lead Wales in two matches before he will concentrate on Blackburn fulltime.

Give me a source or give me death!

Can't, as my source is orally. We'll just have to wait and see till tomorrow, im not even 100% yet biggrin.gif

  8. Soueys gone and wasted another 2 million on a dud.  hurry up depedro. All Pedersen cares about is when his latest toni and guy appointment is.

Somebody's bitter because norwegians are dead sexy!!! Isnt that true, Bjarte? biggrin.gif

Not sure about Norwegians being "dead sexy", but with the sole exception of Henning Berg (top bloke and a real gent) every Norwegian, and Scandinavian for that matter, to play in blue and white halves has been absolutely sh1te.

It's too early to judge Enkelman (however you spell it) and Pedersen as they haven't had much in the way of opportunities to prove themselves yet. However, it will take more than Pedersen's Busted hair-do and his vO2-max rating to win the crowd over.

he has just as much a busted hair-do as stead and gresko. jesus christ, get over it. let him settle and play a couple of matches, THEN judge him (if you have to).

Yep, Oyvind Leonhardsen and Henning Berg were real stud muffins.

And your Norwegian Beckham Andresen couldn't score at Mr.G's.

It was the sun naming MGP "the norwegian david beckham", though. Martin Andresen is norway's francis benali.

  10. I didn't realise we had a sports physiologist on here!

Cuidado, could you help me get my 10K time down, please?!  wink.gif

I went to 3 years of football-school in tromsø from i was 15-18, so thats probably why!

If a players ability to run for a long time isnt important, what is?

    Being good at football?

    For 2 minutes?

  11. I agree, Morten has been @#/?, but he has 3 (three) trainings sessions, and been constantly travelling the last 2 or 3 weeks, give him time and he will shine. Also, he is dependant on having good players around him.

We should buy one of your star players then, like Bjørn Johansen and Thomas Hafstad... laugh.giflaugh.gif

Perhaps you could trow in Arne Vidar Moen as well, we need some to hassle now that Yorke is gone.. laugh.giflaugh.gif

They'd certainly be helpfull. Even though Thomas Hafstad hasnt started a match this year.

Nah, im really talking about players like Lars Iver Strand (u21 captain), Karim Essediri (Tunisia int'l), and Ole Martin Årst (former european topscorer). Or maybe we can get the enourmously talented martin knudsen from brann?

  13. I don't think anybody doensn't appreciate your contribution here. The point I made was that just because he has a small amount of lactic doesn't mean he'll be a workforce for us. Just because Stead is 6 foot 4 doesn't mean he'll be a massive aerial threat from corners.

What you've said suggests that MGP should have a great deal of stamina. That doesn't mean he'll work hard and cover every blade of grass. People are just a little uneasy about him because in his first two games he's shown little-to-nothing.

But if you just did biy stead, you would LIKE TO KNOW that he is 6''4.

  14. It doesn't matter if he's got good stanmia levels if he's totally sh1te at playing football it's self, i'm not saying he is just commenting that's all

What's the point in commenting then? I'd thought i'd share a piece on information on a new player and i get slagged. What a welcome. Why do people want to know if Henry's fast? What if he is "totallt sh1te at playing football"? Stamina IS and will be an important asset. But if you want me to give you his playing abilities in an overview in one post, sorry, i cant help you.

  16. hehe, i know he uses the same as me. we're neighbours and use the same hair-dresser biggrin.gif (YES, its a small town). I've even played a match with him for tromsø B. in 2000 when he came to the club i was subbed on the last minute because of injuries and i was 15, ###### nervous!

anyhow, he uses Renati i think!

lol. what a coincidence i knew that. no - i am not a stalker. heh

  17. Hmmm, kind of hard to explain, but i'll try.

v02-max is the same as v02-difference. the v02-difference is the difference between how much oxygen is in the blood when it comes IN to your veins and how much oxygen there is in the oxygen that is transported out. with a lever on 75 this means that Morten can run a very long time without getting the lactic in his legs.

in other words - good stamina.

  18. Not quite the saviour - but I implore fans to give him time.

I've got a bit of a theory (here we go again wink.gif ) on why MGP has found it difficult to play well in his embryonic Rovers career to date. Apart from the obvious upheaval.

But tactically, Souness has recently been keen on a narrow midfield. Meaning, the wingers tuck in alongside the central midfielders - theoretically, solidifying the centre of midfield. (The fact that it means the opposition wingers have more space out wide obviously didn't worry Souness).

It was the ploy we used at the end of last season and what we started off with this season. In the highlights of the matches so far, you often see Souness gesticulating on the touchline with him 'compressing air' between his hands - directing the midfield to play narrow. What's more, after the Man U match MGP revealed that he was told to follow the runs of Gary Neville.

I'm guessing that these negative tactics aren't MGP's style, who is a more attack-minded typical winger who likes to get wide and attack full backs. If we get a manager in who's brains aren't addled by the need for negativity, MGP might be given more freedom to do his stuff. Yes, sadly I think TP has been indoctrinated by the Souey negativity.

    I agree.

In Tromsø Morten also had to be quite defensive some times, and handled that quite well. Don't forget that before Morten left Norway he had the best V02-max level in the country, with 75.

Let's hope the new manager gives some proper guidelines and gives Morten time. If that happends, he will shine.

  19. Morten was voted man-of-the-match. A bad performance of him, he can do much better. Didn't get any good passes to work with, and if the other players scored on their chances he' d have some assits. He also created a couple of good chances for himself that he could have scored on.
