    Can you elaborate?

I saw the club banned flags when Everton came. Due to their PL protest?

I'm a bit lost with your rage over it. Am I missing something?

Oh god did you not see the stuff about a drum and getting us waving flags (but only ones approved and bought from the club) to improve the atmosphere? I’ll let you google it and enjoy. If it was your club you’d be dying too.

    3 wins, three BRFCS appearances.

Is that accurate? I thought I’d only been here once previously this season, after the City game in August? I don’t recall posting at any other time 🤷‍♂️.

Anyway, good tidings to you all, might see you in a month or so after our next win 😉

Ah, you're smarting from some barbs on here as well as the season results. Makes sense.

You have faith in VK's style and plan?

    Merry Christmas too.

Not smarting from barbs on here so much - & more worried about the stupid flag sh*t the club put out than the results 😳 . In addition we find out the club are selling hospitality packages to away fans and then seating them in the home stands - kicked off in a big way on the Everton game. After being nearly faultless last season they are making big mistakes with the fans this one - well IMO at least:

I do have faith in VK’s style but the plan only works if you recruit well. Not signing Harwood Belis and Tella seems short sighted for example. Always felt relegation was the most likely outcome but second half of the season we need to play consistently well if we hope to come straight back up. I might be an outlier but I see improvement week on week, it’s just you can’t have a whole team ‘learning on the job’ against experienced top level players if you want to stay up.

    Any updates gents?

Can't speak for everyone, but I suspect your presence might be more warmly received this season than it was last. 😜

No update sorry - & I stayed away as requested by quite a few.

One swallow does not make a summer and unfortunately we generally cannot win games where we are the better team and when we come up against good sides and well drilled ones we are to easy to score against. So todays win doesn’t represent a huge turnaround but at least we won’t set a new record low points total - though we could still equal it.

    Merry Christmas to you all.

Cigarette lighter thrown at Lewis the City  player. Hit him on the head. One fan got on the pitch also but was soon subdued.

And City won without clicking really.

That said, despite the scoreline, I didn't think the Dingles looked that bad.

Absolute knob heads - what the f’ing half assed pitch invader was at I’ve no idea. The knob throwing lighters - imagine spending £40 just to get banned. I hope the pillock has a season ticket and is about to lose £400. Fucking embarrassing.

  5. Lol / just got home drunk. Thought I’d read some informed views on the game from our fierce rivals. Sadly all I see is green.

Long old season ahead, let’s see how we go. Foster looks more like what we hoped, Amdouni and Kula Shaker look like they have something about them. Our season won’t be decided by games against one of the best teams in history or Arsenal, Man U, Liverpool etc. It’s fair to say the odds suggest we will be relegated but there is still a long way to go. I didn’t love tonight but expected it. I’ll come back 10 games in and see where we are. Have a cracking weekend everyone.

  6. Evening all.

Lots of green in the last few posts. Ah well, to be expected

As for Kompany, I imagine he has a clear plan. Assuming he’s comparatively successful at Burnley over the the next 1 or two seasons (by comparatively I’m thinking gets us 8th to 10th) I’d imagine he will change his arm at a decent European team in Germany/Spain/Italy to continue building his CV and experience. If he gets us 11th to 13th then maybe he’ll be thinking about a Villa etc as his next step. I’m sure if the offer was right though he’d go to Spurs etc but just like City they will want a coach they see as the finished article, not one still learning his trade. He’s probably 4 or 5 years away from having enough experience to tackle an elite team and this assumes he continues to do well. But he’s only 37, he can afford to be patient.

Lest we forget, to Burnley fans football only began about a decade ago.

It’s great to see irony isn’t dead on here.

Why do you bother obsessing over a Rovers messageboard anyway? Can't think of anything worse than signing up to your shite 🤣

It's a near 20 year habit that you rightly suggest I should really break. I first came on in the day's pre-social media - my guess is to "trash talk" about an upcoming game and I've just stayed around. That said, this season, more than any since 2004, it has become clear the majority don't welcome my presence so you'll see very little of me going forwards.

If its fines and point deductions for fielding a weakend squad we're absolutely fucked for all the times we started Hirst and Vale.

I'm with K-Hod - you have a 25 man squad you should be free to use them as you please. If they started the whole u18 squad then I could  understand but they didn't

As you'd expect. Much ado about nothing. No investigation. We've been asked for our observations after Huddersfield complained. This is (apparently) a standard process. This is from the BBC article on the matter (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65364537)

The regulations also state that "from the fourth Thursday in March, any team sheet for a league game should include at least 10 outfield players who featured on the team sheet for the league game before".

The team sheet includes substitutes and Burnley had 14 players on the team sheet who had also been in the matchday squad of 18 for the previous game, a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United.

Nixon been using this as massive clickbait on Twitter, talking "match-fixing"

I’m sure you’ve said that about every game…

I probably have because it’s what I expect.  The last game for me felt more the exception than the rule. Tuesday it’s a Burnley team trying to seal the Championship in enemy territory against a Rovers team scrapping tooth and nail to extend their season and get a shot at the play offs. If I’m wrong to expect a tight game fair enough but whilst I recognise we are an excellent side at this level you aren’t half bad yourselves when you click based on some of the games I’ve seen - most notably Leicester in the Cup and 80 minutes against Sheff Utd in the cup.

It had crossed my mind that Burnley had engineered this situation were they win the league at Ewood.Reading some Burnley forums and they wont be presented with the Trophy if they do win.

Apparently Alan Pace their Chairman wont be attending...is it some sort of protest Longsiders?

Not that I know of - but of course it is possible. We’ve got a big screen at the fan zone so he’s maybe preferring to be there as he is pre most home games 🤷‍♂️

Definitely not engineered though, absolutely no guarantee we win Tuesday so I’m sure the teams we put out were expected to win - and yesterday was as strong as we could put out. First half we had 87% possession, 16 shots and 9 corners so no doubt at all we tried everything to win but we spurned great scoring chances and their goal led a charmed life. Tuesday will be a nervous time for us both, expecting a tight, close game personally.

My suspicion is they set it up to win the title at Ewood, arrogant tossers, that would be a bitter pill to swallow.  Longers over to you what's your opinion anything look odd against QPR?

QPR was our strongest 11 bar Tella who is injured. Absolutely battered them first half but somehow didn’t score. Second they Nick a goal, time waste even more cynically, we go almost 2 - 4 - 4, all out attack, score but don’t then adjust and they Nick a second. Previous 2 weren’t so much intentionally weakened but were used to look at the squad and rotate. IF the EFL investigated nothing would come of it - otherwise why are we allowed a squad 🤷‍♂️

Personally think it’s a mistake to go into Tuesdays game under pressure especially when you have so much to play for but I understand Kompany’s logic about preparing for next season.

It's bound to be a source of amusement to supporters of clubs who find huge crowds easy to come by constantly seeing the attempted Burnley willy waving.   Fans of bigger clubs tend to have real difficulty understanding the logic of demographics and geography.

Burnley fans have difficultly understanding the term 'catchment areas' also but it was ever thus.

Point is the real harcores of Rovers, Burnley, Preston has always been very very similar as is the upper limit to what we can all achieve given any success.

Be careful, you are close to resurrecting Theno’s Lancashire United here.

Not sure that's the best example to portray obsessed.

You don't think it's maybe tongue in cheek? 3 matches in.

First time you'd been back in our league for a good while too.

Well he’s certainly not posted anything similar in a while.

This is one thread of many that folk are commenting on, the vast majority of said threads are about *their* club.

Said Dingles spend most of their time on their social media accounts talking about another club, not the one that’s just charged to promotion… bit sad that, ain’t it.

Are you honesty suggesting there aren’t Rovers fans all over Twitter etc ranting  about Burnley? Now whether this guy is a special kind of loon I don’t know but I do agree if they can’t just enjoy this last 13/14 years whilst we’ve had the upper hand then I am a little sad for them.

  15. It’s your ground so your call. You can offer as many or few as you chose within the rules (2000 min I think up to whatever capacity you can offer). Doesn’t matter why you make the decisions you do - and people will no doubt have their own thoughts on the ‘why’s’ - everyone has to get on with it.

For me, I can’t imagine it will have a significant impact on the result, the better team on the day will win - or the luckiest. I also don’t see it making much difference to our season either way. I’m sure some our our fans are disappointed but this sort of allocation has been rumoured for a couple of months now. I always planned to watch it on the TV anyway.
