I would suggest that against most teams in this league we are capable of playing a full back such as Gray - there is only possibly Chelsea and a full-strength Manchester United and Arsenal to fear. Everybody else is simply there for the taking.

A full strength Utd side would still have had Ronaldo anyway.

Surely, playing Gray would be the better option against these 3 sides as they are so reliant on pace to beat sides. I.e Robben, Duff, Henry, Pires etc.....Our recent defensive problems have been about lack of pace......Le Saux was probably our best in recent history, and he's a very similar player to Gray

No, Huddersfield have a decent away support traditionally. The extras probably came in the beleif they were seeing a top class side, with top class players, stadium etc.....I remember when we used to be int he old 2nd div and if we played a top flight club, we'd make an extra effort. It was quite a surreal game for me when we played Liverpool at home in the 80's, and Southampton in the FA Cup, Utd (when mick rathbone stood on the ball)...Strachan lobbed the keeper....

I'd like to think that these Huddersfield fans were excited at the prospect of a possible upset against players they only usually see on the telly.

And I wonder what they thought when nobody bothered to turn up. Absolutely dismal showing by rovers fans.....BBE did its best and I enjoyed it.

The reasons for people not wanting to spend hard earned money are:

Stephen Reid - Never seen a more one dimensional footballer...This guy has no technique at all. He's not quick, skillful, never scores goals and his 1st touch is shocking.

The only way people will come is if the team is performing and that feel good factor comes back, ie, 2 years ago with Duffer, Dunny, Cole etc.

When I go to Ewood, I know that we're gonna play one up front, stifle the midfield and generally bore the pants off the supporters.

This will not encourage people to put their hands in pockets and spend hard earned cash. If we make 3/4 good exciting signings, ie Bellamy, creative midfielder(Toogs, but younger), CH (To compliment Todd/Nelson) and a bloody good centre forward we have a chance of making a good start and therfore giving the supporters and incentive......

I think Malcolm Glazer has made a monumental mistake by buying the Cubik shares at a vastly inflated price, just to seize power. Utd are, in my opinion at their most vunerable on the pitch with the end of an era looming and possibly mediocrity afoot.

This means that without the success on the pitch, coupled with the ongoing animosity within the supporters, who incidentally I feel are one of the most partisan of followers once something pisses them off, Utd and ultimately Glazer will fail.

He's turning one of the few clubs who make a profit into one with magnificent debt problems.....The mind boggles!!!

Agreed den, maybe cotterill regrets not going for it, imo blackburn were there to be beaten, but yes with AA cup tied and injured we only have 1 striker and dont really have the attacking options but you are still a prem side and maybe if we had attacked more we might have got mullered?
