  1. I've just seen on ITV news that Barton's brother is wanted in connection with the murder of Anthony Walker. Michael Barton and another man are being reported as having fled the country since the incident on Merseyside and have been named by the police as men they would really like to speak to.

Taking into account what we already know about Joey Barton's history, I leave you to draw your own conclusions about this particular family.

  2. According to the LET's man in Germany there was a chance meeting between a group of Rovers fans and a herd of Dingles, in Salzburg. (They're over there playing some friendlies against some really poor sides).

He assures us there were no arrests!

  3. Although I wasn't a regular in those days, my first Rovers game was on 1 March 1975, my 8th birthday, a 2-0 win against Swindon Town. I still have the ticket, a family ticket, which cost £3.50. Sat in the top deck of the Riverside and can remember being amazed at the size of the ground because previously I had only been to Spotland, in Rochdale.

I think I really started going properly a couple of years later, around '77, when Jim Smith was manager.

  4. Why don't all you moneybags out there who think it's a bargain buy two season tickets and give one away to a mate or someone? Or even chuck it in the bin.

After all, the issue at the moment seems to be money in the coffers, not bums on seats.

Without doubt, if the season tickets were half the price, Rovers would probably sell twice as many. And if you ask me, a full stadium is better than a half empty one regardless of how much dosh the club (players) are raking in.

  5. 'Ghost of a Rose' by Blackmore's Night is on a lot at our house too.

    You're alright, mate. thumbs-up.gif

    Are you being sarcastic?

    Or is that a compliment?

  6. Been listening to Steeleye Span, and Fairport Convention, up on Hadrian's Wall in the last couple of days.

Music, like food and beer, is so much better in the open air.

  7. Just lately I have been listening to 'Steppin' Out', recorded around 1966 by John Mayall's Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton. It's great blues music, and Clapton's Les Paul sounds awesome.
