1. Some user does not have flash and may go away because they won't download the plugin (For us, it is no problem, but for some novice people, they are afraid on download something and install somthing)

there are a lot of "principle" so I don't quote it here.

Some work needed on your human to human interface by the reading of it. Take a break from those computers now and again your begining to sound like one.

  2. anyone who thinks we have a stronger front line must be taking some serious drugs.

We will miss bellamy in so many ways. Rather similar to when we lost duff. Oposition players used to try and double up on bellamy because he was so good, so it left areas open for other players.

same thing used to happen with duff.

everyone then convinced themselves pre season that we were better off without duff, as we had reid, emerton and fergusson.

    how wrong was everyone then!

i hope benny and roberts do well and will get behind them, but If I had the choice, i would have had bellamy no questions!

So the fact we scored a significant haul if not more (will have to check) points when Bellamy was injured last season is explained how?

Rovers are stronger up front IMO and the balance is better which is important.

  3. You may not be doing much boozing on the crossings if the North Sea produces a "drop of roughers" as we used to call it in the Navy.;)

Crossed at all times of year, can hardly tell the boat is moving its so big. Besides bar opens at 4pm boat sails at 9pm. Most times I dont even realise we have set off but that will be the booze!

Casino, cinema, live entertainment, cabin for the nights all for around 60 quid, much better than flying on cheap and not so cheerful airlines. Transfer to Amsterdam for a tenner.

  4. My view:-

    Steven Gerrard: Dived

Right or Wrong: Wrong, but we wont win it if everyone else cheats and we don't! No time for things to even themselves out at the WC.

Tram youths = Chav's (cans of Stella?)

Ian Wright: Played for Burnley (it doesn't get any worse) but still much more interesting to watch than the rest of the wet muppets on the BBC.

Disabled linesman: 99% of them are myopic therefore disabled. Why was a disabled/cripple linesman 'running' the line?

England bashing: Not really just people expressing an opinion.

  5. Warning for all who have renewed but want to move seats, new season on sale now could be in the seat you want!!!

I was hoping to move back a row to sit with friends only to be told the vacant seat was sold 'just the other day' to a new season ticket holder.

Don't think transfer day will happen this year! So phone in now if you want to move before you miss out like me! :(

  6. Just to compare our last few managers with GS...

First of all lets accept that GS was a manager with us for a couple of seasons in the old division one but

    Since Kenny left:

    Brian Kidd 36 games - 38 points - 1.05 points per game

    Roy Hodgson 51 games - 67points - 1.31 points per game

Ray Harford 48 games - 65 points -1.35 points per game

    Tony Parkes 47 games - 77 points - 1.64 points per game

    Graeme Sounesss 127 games - 253 points - 1.99 points per game

    Mark Hughes 71 games - 100 points - 2.70 points per game

    I'll get me anorak .............................

(nice warm glow about that last line though isn't it?)

When maths are corrected Souness comes out on top!!!! I have no grudge (anymore), the Souness era had its ups and downs and his departure has been nothing but good for Rovers.... and amusing!

He's a decent manager, just not a class manager like we have now.

Get over it. He left, he was humilated, we got Hughes ... what more do people want?

  7. According to the LET, who have been in touch with the premier League, the team finishing 6th would qualify for EUFA even if Boro win the cup as MU won the League Cup and they have already qualified for the Champion's League.

    403204

Can someone clarify definitively - what happens if Boro win the UEFA cup?

I don't see what Boro winning the UEFA cup has to do with Man Utd winning the carling cup. That place was allocated back to the league ages ago.

Will Boro take an exsisting UEFA spot or will they get an extra one?

  8. The solution I am about to suggest would have legitimized the goal yesterday, so I don't expect positive feedback. Instead of many areas of interpretation, reduce the rule to a single (actually a couple of) interpretation that already exists. That of a player impeding his opponent (and of whether a player has touched the ball).

Perhaps the best way to go would be to legitimize the actions of a player in an off-side position, as long as they neither touch the ball, or impede a defender from intercepting it. That means they could even dummy a pass, which was what Cisse effectively did yesterday. The term active in relation to off-side infringements would need to be killed, because you would be allowed to be active. Just not a direct recepient of a pass.

I don't think the rule needs to be popular. It just needs to be clear cut. Of course, this does nothing to stop referee assistants from badly judging the off-sidedness of active players. Only video referees might solve that problem (but of course, how?).

    399928

There is of course a far easier solution bring back the offside rule. The one we all knew, understood and played to. Imagine trying explain that crap to the missus.

I came home last night looked at my Girlfriend and told her "remember when I tried to explain the offside rule? Well you were right all along it is just random when they flag"

  9. How many times have we been caught off-side in the last three games?

Ball played over the top everyone chases no-one has actually reached the ball when the off-side flag is raised, so how can they have been offside?

Offside is a joke, course the ref and lineo love it thier names are up in lights and all thier mates are talking about it.

  10. Whats shocking is that us, the ref, the lineo's, scousers all agree on the facts. The interpretation is all that divides us - 99% of football fans agree that that was offside the fact that the offcials have "justification" makes a mockery of the modern game, I'm not going to follow a sport where the rules are made up as the superstar ref goes along - I want clear rules and a fair game when I hand over my cash.

If this "error" had been made against a big club they woukd be media hell on

As it is nothing will happen as it Rovers a team who have over achieved and should be grateful.

FFS sort it out and clarify the rules: offsides, handballs, diving, time-wasting - two much open to interpretation and too many COSTLY bad calls are bieng made week after week, yes skysports love it has everyone tuning into thier news program to see the "incident".

Anyway Cisse not interferring with play inside the opposing teams penalty area! stick you F#*cking interpretation up your a%@e, well done your the most famous lineo in Britain - what an achievement. Incidently if I was Cisse I'd be ashamed, now the whole world knows he's useless and lazy after all he can't even be bothered to interfere with play in our penalty area. Eurostar Time table needed?

  11. I wonder how that will all get negotiated when Sky can't own all the packages.

    398745

That’s a good point, I see this from a slightly different angle, this is upsetting the apple cart TV wise and I think this needs to happen big time.

Unfortunately SKY can control who they sell too so ultimately they have control anyway. If this was a serious threat to them they would cancel the contracts, as it is they will just bump the price up if Greek TV is getting loads of subscribers - Sky will get their pound of flesh one way or another.

Rooney blows £700,000 gambling in a few months, Bellamy fly’s into training via helicopter - sorry I am not going criticise anyone who no longer wants to pay the modern footballers wage either via sky subscription or ticket prices.

I will just say to the rest of you "die hards" when is enough enough? £50? £75? £100 a game. After all its such a wonderful competitive league where anything can happen and anyone can win the league.

    Example:

    Salary = £15,000 (roughly £200 a week after tax) Ticket = £27 or 13.5% of wage

    Salary = £60,000 (roughly £700 a week after tax) Ticket = £40 or 5.7% of wage

[£94 ticket for the £60K earner makes them equal in terms of percentage]

Who pays the most? Who's more dedicated? Who is the better fan?

I support the club but it grates me that I'm paying for superstars to P#*s away my hard earned cash. It shouldn't be this way, but I guess I should just shut up and accept it like the rest of you?

This season in my opinion has been worth the season ticket price last 2 seasons before that - no way. But like most people I have my limit cost wise, just accept that Blackburn has a lower fan base and Blackburn fans have lower household incomes than the city dwelling clubs.

I'm not surprised its the people of Blackburn are the first ones to wake up and smell the coffee. I'm just shocked that so many of you are still in dreamland.

  12. talking to a couple of mates last night in the pub and they said they would rather spend 20 dabs in the local watching it on telly..i tried to convince them into going but to no avail.

    395902

Its the revenue streams Sky are worth to the club 4-5 times the fan base bring in gates.

Nothing the club can do about Sky as its the PL who sell TV rights, our chairman would probably like more games on TV makes more money for the club no matter how many fans drop away becuase of it.

What we need is the collective PL to do something about it but the decline isn't biting as hard in the big city clubs and as such there is no urgency at PL level.

    Whats the alternative? Exactly.

  13. So the next time someone says to you that they aren’t going to Ewood Park and reels off some excuse for not going (you’ve heard them all before - it’s almost become fashionable to think up new ones) then just tell them it’s their loss.

This season is drawing to a close faster than any other I can remember for a long, long time. I don't want it to end! Whatever happens from hereon in Rovers have  taken great strides forward. Long may it continue. Thank you Mark Hughes.

    394508

Nice writing Bob, its your review that makes the injustices of the season seem funny and allow me to put the knife down and avoid cutting myself once again.... cause I have that nasty habit of only being able to see the dark side... like the vast majority of Rovers fans! (or at least the BRFCS.co.uk posters) tongue.gif

Absolutley been a great season so far one of the best for a long time..... lets not forget it and if your reading this and not coming down to Ewood then your missing out big time!

Get your arse on the park while it lasts!

  14. It is clear the G14 feel that UEFA and FIFA are the softest target to shoot at and that is where they are aiming in the short term.

    393566

A bit of reform in Uefa and Fifa wouldn't be a bad idea in my opinion. G14 are not the people to do it though. They are anti-competitive by their closed and very elitist existence.

Still I would like too see the battle fought, I envisage a bloody nose for the federations (sparking reform) and a crushing defeat (potentially to football wilderness for a couple of seasons for G14 members).

  15. Incidentally, O'Brien of Bolton has just raised his hand above his head to knock the ball away, in his own area.

The ref gave the penalty, but no card whatsoever. Sorry for going on, but it still annoys me, the sheer inconsistency of referees. It shouldn't be difficult to sort out - is hand ball a definate card? They don't blummin know the answers themselves.

    Numpties.

    393593

Between the Devil and the deep blue sea.

People want consistency and common sense at the same time, the ref that sent Savage off was a plonker and created the problem hyped up by the media.

Last month offside’s, last week Handballs, this week simulation, next week something else.... its just adds to the entertainment however unpalatable... my opinion leave the refs some freedom to operate within the context of the game they are reffing...

After all I'm convinced none of them deliberately cheat (they are influenced but that’s not the same), the hard and fast directives have only created confusion and ruined some games with unnecessary red cards.
