  1. Well I'm having trouble undrstanding how they can charge so much for a match which can hardly be considered a galmour tie for Blackburn supporters. As for us we get loads of complaints about our pricing policy £16 to sit or stand in the areas which were to the right of where your supporters were situated and £23 for middle blocks of the grandstand. So I assume the £24 is going to go down like a lead weight. At that price and giving its a midweek I'd say you'll see 500 cardiff supporters tops.
  2. Well first thing it was nice to meet a lot of you the Lansdowne before the match, I hope we made you feel welcome and changed a few minds regarding the way many of us are portrayed. Most Blackburn supporters were confident of a win and to be honest I couldn't see a an upset even though we'd improved over the Xmas period. The game started quite predictably with us forcing the game with some neat moves and half decent crossed but Friedel had nothing to save, then on the first Blackburn attack the ball was punted down the middle by freidel the ball was won in the middle I think and dropped to Dickov who played a fantastic ball through for Pederson who finished in style. After that Blackburn were in total control of the game for about 10 minutes when you could off wrapped it up. Dickov had a great chance but unlike Pederson neat and well though finish he just blasted it from 8 yrds Straight at Warner our keeper. When we finally figured out that playing the offside trap 2 yrds out side your own box didn't work we slowly started to get back into the game. We had a great spell of pressure for about 25 minutes in which time you picked up 3 booking, 2 were sure fire jobs but mateos was a comedy job. I must say we our Winger Job did go past your full back i was surprised on how blatant player were prepared to hack them down. I think it shows the bite Hughes has placed on the team and should stand you in good stead for the rest of the season. Any in this period we has a good chance when Jerome really should have done better with a header from 6 yrds but it was a sign of what was to come, from a throw in the ball was laid back to Graham Kavagnagh (probably our man of the match) who hit a first time cross to Alan Lee who's header hit the cross bar at the angle and bounce off Friedels hand into the net. You couldn't really blame Friedel for it he had to go for it and was slighly unfortunate. We probably deserved the goal on the amount of pressure we had managed to excert. Just after the Goal we were given a free kick just outside the box (another yellow card) and Kav again put in a quality cross which Gabs should have really scored, but the ball did go through a load of bodies. The 2nd half the game died a bit, we still created a few half chances but nothing you could call clear cut. Blackburn finished the stronger and Dickov saw a shot well saved by Warner. You also hit the bar direct from a corner but to honest it was never going to go in. The only debating point in the game was the disallowed Dickov goal which came when Warner drop a cross under a challenge. To be honest from where I was sitting I thought we got lucky, I was sure that in div 1 or 2 game the goal would have been allowed. However watching the extensive highlights on BBC wales last night (30 minutes) it was a foul on the keeper. Overall I think I can see the MH influence on your team. He has made you difficult to beat and thats half the battle and I think you can just see the first signs that he's moving on from that because for small periods in the game the speed and acuracy of your attacks was way above stuff we've seen in this Div you just need to play like that for longer periods. Anyway I'm sure you will win the replay and to be honest I wouldn't minded if Dickov's goal hadn't been ruled out because our priority hast to be to get away from the bottom of this div and a relay was probably the worst result . Hope the fans that travel down enjoyed the match and maybe will form a different opinion of most of us genuine city supporters.
  3. Like lots of opinions regarding both "Cardiff City supporters" and Sam Hammam some of the points you made are genuine others are poorly formed and incorrect. There is no doubt Sam likes to get in to the media, but this is what any business tries to archive, Sam happens to be good at it. As for him leaving Wimbledon, well he's in football for the money, we at Cardiff appreciate that and we do worry about the future, however you must remember we were languishing in the lower divisions for nearly 20 years and in hell of a mess. The future of Cardiff City lays at the door of our new Stadium which, will/not be given the final go ahead on the 19th of January. The stadium even though a brick hasn't be laid yet is draining money from the club at an alarming rate, but its important as it comes with a Shopping complex which will not only fund the stadium but over time pay off the debts the club has amassed. As for the Hooligan element, I'm not going to pretend they don't exist here they do, however as for comments as "violent street battles", well lets just say as a season ticket holder since 83 I haven't seen such for years. This season there has been no trouble at any of the games nor has there been trouble outside the ground or in the City centre (where it normally occurs anyway). As I said there are Muppets here and come the revolution they will be first against the wall, but they are a tiny minority whom most Cardiff fans detest. Things are improving immensely here and I new modern stadium will also help. As for Leeds match what you said is wrong on so many levels I don't know where to start. The supporters were highly charged for many reasons, Leeds were flying high, we after years in the doldrums where finally making progress, people were returning Ninian Park and it was the first big game we’d had in years and it was a chance for us to put one over on the big guns. The game on the pitch was not bad tempered at all. The only clash point was the sending off, in which David O’Leary went berserk on the touch line and this incensed the Fans not Sam walking around the pitch, which he did at every match prior to the Leeds match. In fact in the playoff's in which we lost to Stoke Sam went up to the Stoke fans at the end of the game that were obviously over the moon and applauded them, they applauded back. There are so many issues I could raise from the Leeds match but I'd just end up boring everyone, but ultimately the truth lies in the middle of the road. As for the game tomorrow, well it’s got to be a Blackburn win for me. The standard in this division is dire and considering we are 4 from bottom I think that explains all you need to know. For anyone wanting a pint before the match the Lansdowne pub is place to go, open welcomes away supporters and there won’t be a hooligan in sight.
  4. When Parry first came he was a breath of fresh air. A fast winger whom would take on opponents without fear fear of losing the ball. His first 4-5 matches he was great. However I'm pretty sure the club told him to put on a bit of muscle and he's certainly bigger than he was but at the same time seems to have lost both a bit of his pace and the desire to take players on. To be fair this has happened to quite a few players at Cardiff, they seem to have there abilities coached out of them. Since then he's been playing up front for Cardiff when Thorny was out and did a good job, scoring some great goals. Once Thorney was back he's been on the bench and in out of the team due to injuries. On Saturday was only on the pitch 4 minutes as a sub when he was hacked down from behind (a terrible challenge which would have been a red card in the prem) he went straight to Hospital where they feared a double fracture, I think however its ligament damage, out for 6- 8 weeks. Overall when fit Parry has the ability to be one of the best wide players in this Division and I know he was a big loss to Hereford, but he has made the jump to the champ with relative ease.
  5. As I Cardiff season ticket holder since 83 (suffering you don't know the meaning Blackburn fans)you really shouldn't worry about traveling down and of course you can wear your colours but just stay away from pubs such as the Borough Arms and the Prince of Wales in the city centre. Both contain a number of dull muppets who most normal city fans take the trouble to stay away from. Besides that you will be suprised how trouble free everthing will be. Yep your going to be housed close to the City fans on the grange end but 90% of them are 14-18 yr olds whom spend all their Giro's on Burrberry rips offs. They can be offensive but there not the brightest bunch and most of us tend to laugh at their dim witted reposte's to away supporters barackings. Anyway good place for you to get a drink before the match is the lansdowne pub. Its a cardiff supporters pub full of genuine people who will give you a great welcome with a bit of banter, we've had supporters from Sunderland and many other clubs here this season no trouble whatsoever. Its about a 10 minute walk from the ground. As for the game, the standard in the Champ is awful, really awful. We in the main have be awful this season and its only over the Xmas period, when we have managed to get a stronger midfield on the pitch that we have looked slightly better than relegation fodder. For Cardiff to win would require a really poor display from you and I mean a really poor performance. With MH in charge at Cardiff it isn't going to happen. 0-2 to Blackburn my predeiction, which is fine by me as we are having a hard enough time staying in this division. Anyway enjoy the trip. PS Peter Thorne is a class act in this division.
