  1. Did he "slip" against Portsmouth too? And why did he just completely give up when McFadden beat him to the ball? Don't make excuses, until he's out of the squad we're always going to be prone to disastrous defending.
  2. It was Todd. I only saw the highlights of the game last night but they were more than enough to put across the sort of game that our Glorious Captain had. Virtually every chance that Everton had came from a Todd mistake/lack of judgement. That penalty (and it was a penalty) was nothing short of embarassing, it was a Sunday league challenge. I'm more excited about the signing of Andre Ooijer than Benni - Anything to get the blundering thug that is Andy Todd further down the pecking order! Hughes - Get rid of him. PLEASE. Preferably to Burnley...
  3. Time will tell. We'll see whose starting at centre-half (and wearing the captain's armband) at the end of the season. A previous post mentioned that teams need a "hard man" - I agree with that to a certain extent, but certainly don't think Todd falls under that description. And if teams do require a "hard man" in Todd's mould - Just don't make him captain. Young fans of Arsenal/Liverpool/Man Utd will grow up wanting to be Vieira/Gerrard/Keane because they want to lift trophies like they do. Not to kick opposition players while they're on the ground just because they're frustrated. Todd is an irrational, dangerous thug. That's my opinion, which I am absolutely allowed to have - Deal with it.
  4. I don't feel that my posts have been made in an "aggressive style" - Especially if you consider the manner of the replies made to my posts. I apologise for "banging the same drum" about Andy Todd's worthlessness, but that is my opinion, and I am genuinely embarrassed that he is our captain. If anyone can tell me honestly that they believe Todd is a great example of a professional footballer and a role model for young fans, I will be very, very surprised.
  5. Where's the football debate gone? If we're going to deviate from the whole point of this thread then I may as well offer you these bits of advice: 1) "the How old are you / your not a fan tactic" - In this sentence I have difficulty explaining why you have chosen to capitalise the word "how". And I believe that "your" should be "you're". 2) "by small pathetic people who's rather pathetic argument" - This should be "whose". 3) "Id suggest you need to pop back to here and crawl back under the stone youve come from" - I'd suggest that you need to learn to read and write before you attempt to take part in a serious debate on football. You have a nice time obsessing over Burnley, unlike most Blackburn fans who prefer to concentrate on things like 3 points at Newcastle on Saturday, and the Carling Cup semi against Man Utd in midweek.
  6. Haha - What's this supposed to mean? Isn't it possible that I can just be allowed my opinion on the team I support? Isn't it okay to criticise players and point out that I consider some of the comments being made on this thread as rubbish? That's what message boards are for. Who is "Vinjay"? Everyone on here seems to be well versed in changing the subject of a thread. Can't believe someone would even compare Tugay's shooting to Reid's - How many crackers has Tugay scored over the last few seasons?? And Reid?....
  7. The FA couldn't charge Todd because he denied it, simple as that. It was just their word against his. Interestingly, my point has been proven here by the people who have responded saying "that elbow was not intentional", but none of them have attempted to argue the case that Todd "isn't the kind of player" who would do that. Everyone knows our glorious captain is exactly that kind of player. It's a disgusting message to send out. Thankfully one day Zura's football brain and Nelsen's 'Hendry-esque' performances will ensure The Thug's exclusion. I can't wait.
  8. ?!?!?!? What on earth??? Hoofing the ball of front and saying to the forwards "You should be holding it up" is NOT retaining possession! Next time you watch Rovers notice how we're a much more attractive, exciting team to watch when we don't have Andy Thug blessing us with his "distribution"..
  9. 'Young and stupid' eh? Well I'll just keep giving my opinions on football on this message board, and you can just keep swearing. Haha - "t1ts"!! "fcku"!! I see what you've done there!! Classic!! So Todd's "challenge" on Van Persie after his 2nd goal in the FA Cup Semi last season - That was just "hard" was it? As opposed to dirty? My whole anti-Todd argument stems from the fact that he is not the kind of player who should be a role model for young Blackburn fans. Your Captain has to be a role model, a true professional. Not some thug who kicks/elbows opposition players off the ball when he gets frustrated. (Please don't let there be anybody out there who replies saying "Well the FA cleared him of the Van Persie incident etc etc" - You all know as well as I do that Todd did that entirely intentionally, and I'm willing to venture that some of you even love him more for doing so)
  10. It's not just recieving cards that makes a dirty player. If anything, Andy Todd is even worse than that by constantly claiming his "innocence" when it's clear far all to see that he intends everything he's been charged with. I'm curious to hear this though - If Andy Todd isn't the dirtiest player in the Premiership - Who is?
  11. No I'm not a "dingle on a wind-up". Steven Reid just ain't good enough, and thankfully I'm not the only Rovers fan to have noticed. Spence
  12. FINALLY somebody agrees with me on Andy Todd. The dirtiest player in the Premiership as our captain?? What a hideous message to send out. Nelsen for Captain - Todd for the exit. Spence
  13. Hello all, SURELY I'm not the only person to have noticed this. Reidy (who looks like one of the werewolves from "Dog Soldiers") couldn't hit a donkey's arse with a banjo. I know I'm going to get a trillion replies of "Didn't you see his goal at Wigan?!?", but that's ONCE, from an absolutely frightening number of shots - A great deal of them when we're enjoying good possesion. And he was Man of the Match against Bolton??? Em...What??? Please don't just flame this post, but let me know if you share my frustration. Blackburn really could be a good side, but there are just one or two players who simply aren't good enough, and I'm quite willing to name names: Steven Reid Michael Gray Andy Todd Shefki Kuqi I was a bit dissapointed with the normally tactically-sound Hughes in the game against Bolton - It was crying out for Tugay to open up the Boring Bolton defence, but we stuck with the Mighty Reid so he could lash the ball into the stand a few times. Let the flaming/swearing/ranting begin. Cheers, Spence
  14. I was at Ewood for every home game until December last year, and a few away games (at Southampton, Newcastle and Charlton). 1. It's a ridiculous point to say that "Newcastle were more than likely through" against Olympiakos. Stranger things have happened than teams overturning a 3-1 aggregate lead. 2. A 12:15 KO is most sensible owing to the congestion/safety concerns of the police. An evening kick off is impossible for those reasons, and the game can't be shown on television between 3pm and 5pm. 3. I completely disagree that having the Final at the same venue "takes the glamour element away". If anything it should make fans desparate to go back! 4. The Millennium Stadium is far superior to Villa Park or Old Trafford. 5. We will. -- Spence
  15. It was never "scheduled" for a 5.15ko. That information might have been on the Millennium Stadium website prematurely, and just assumed by some owing to the Live BBC game kick off times this season. -- Spence
  16. I can't believe this. I'm travelling from the Shetland Isles to see the FA Cup Semi. By the time I get to Cardiff and back it will have been 1500-mile round trip. I logged onto the message boards today to get excited about the game, to see what fans views were on our chances, team selection and celebrations, only to find that a worrying number of people seem annoyed. The facts are these: 1. We have to play on Saturday because of Newcastle's involvement in the UEFA Cup. 2. The game can either kick off at Noon or 5.15pm. It is NOT ALLOWED to show any part of a live match on TV between the hours of 3pm and 5pm on a Saturday, and of course the FA Cup Semi Finals will be televised. Games of this magnitude have never been played with an evening kick off owing to congestion/safety issues, and that has always been the case. 3. The Semi-Final being at Cardiff makes it a proper day out for the fans! How often have you been to Villa Park or Old Trafford? The venue makes the game even more special. 4. We will beat Arsenal. Please stop complaining about the distance you have to travel, the money you have to pay or the lack of sleep you'll have to endure - This is an FA Cup Semi-Final!! Get excited, not annoyed. Cheers, Spence
