There's a double page article on Jon Dahl Tomasson - I refuse to abbreviate - in today's The Times. (Behind paywall.)

Ha ha. I had to use Wikipedia to look at Posh's current squad to find out who JCH was. I'm not going to tell you either.

As a Rovers fan, how the F*** was Paul f'n Scholes your first point of reference for a 'maestro well into his 30s'? 😅
How about Russell Coughlin, then?
I remember Mick Rathbone describing in his autobiography how Coughlin (and another player whose name I forget) used to buy an unsliced loaf from the bakers on Bolton Road, cut it in half, scoop out the middle, buy chips, pie and gravy from the chippy, pour them into the scooped out halves, and then proceed to eat the lot. 😆😆😆
Great player on the ball.
Probably couldn't have coped with today's pressing game, though. ☺️

Be midnight before leaving car park at Blackpool. They operate poor car park management and the long road in doesn't help.
Unless you have a disability that means you can't walk distances, park on-street nearer South Shore. You lose no time that way.
Though last year it was raining constantly and we ended up soaked through to our underpants. Hopefully not in August though. 😏

Initially thought Blackpool away in August, real do! Then realised its a Wednesday FFS
Sunderland away boxing day is a real treat though 🥳
I remember Sunderland playing us at Ewood on Boxing Day late seventies and bringing 10,000. Young fans, titter ye not. 🤭
In my opinion, Sunderland are a massive club. They'll have 45,000+ attendance that day. Or would we rather have Reading or Bristol Ciry at home?
Should be a great fixture and time to hook up with friends or family up there.
Just don't mention Hull City and Boxing Day again. I'm still out pocket from our longest ever McDonald's trip. 😒😁

Posters on here valorising big companies.
Don't be dazzled by the billions.
Big companies are inefficient.
Size is definitely not everything in business.

If I refresh the page, it just pops back up immediately on the new page. It also slows down the scrolling considerably for me. Very irritating and I've just closed the site for a few hours a few times due to it.
I use Ghostery browser. No issues.

Gibson at Boro probably does and the guy who set Huddersfield on the right path a few yeas ago, Hoyle i think it was.
There are a few around especially lower down the scale but it's by no means a guarantee of success. Many are hampered by lack of enough finance or inherited debts. That's not really been the case here it's been a lack of common sense and making the correct effort to get to grips with what they are actually doing with the club.
Too much personal wealth to cover mistakes without batting an eyelid, too much arrogant aloof assumption that the Indian business/family way is the only way to run an English football club. Too much relying on just praying and paying that'll it'll just come right of it's own accord. And of course too many snouts in the trough and wrong tongues i right arseholes.
Common football sense needed in head office now to build on what is here and a director on the board who preferably knows the club and town.
Two things that shouldn't be impossible to attain for billionaires with any semblance of a plan for the club.

Whoever takes over could do worse than shadowing that fella for a short while.

An ongoing space for anyone to post songs which sum up how we feel in this strangest of recent seasons.
Blue Heaven by Public Service Broadcasting
My offering: this isn't as good a season as it's ever been in living memory but let's just enjoy it for what it is. A eulogy to the German film star Marlene Dietrich, an outsider who didn't court popularity. We're a little club punching above our weight. Those city lights don't bother me, Blackburn Rovers, we're proud to be.
Any other offerings?

Nice day for football.
Think I might wear some nice bright spring-type colour with my blue.

I was in a box from about 12.45, the referee came out soon after and had a discussion with Mowbray and one other person. I didn’t count how many but quite a few ground staff were clearing snow and putting in a good shift. The 2.15 inspection was then announced and, it was assumed, that would just to make sure the snow was cleared. When the referee came out at 2.15, players were in the tunnel ready for warming up. All the referee did, as far as I could see, was to throw the ball in the air near the centre circle to see how it bounced. Some Millwall players were passing a ball to each other on the Jack Walker touchline. There was just an area, about the size of a penalty area in the DE half which still needed clearing of snow. All the cones were put in place for warming up.
After the game was off the Rovers goalkeepers and coaches were practicing crosses and the ball moved fine when being rolled back to the crossers, whether or not the postponement was justified, there is only one person who is responsible and he is not connected with Blackburn Rovers
The ref was out well before then. We were outside the ground at 1.30 pm. Some official looking Millwall guy was explaining to their fans he didn't think it would go ahead. The ref was out for a long time on the pitch. Testing it in various areas in each half and penalty area. He was thorough. He was right in front of us on the ground. He did his job properly. Unlike some in the shadows. Millwall manager was on the pitch being obvious. Didn't see our Dear Leader though.

Just seen a video on twitter of around 30-40 Bolton staff and stewards clearing the snow off the pitch. It is pretty much clear now. Proper hands to the pump effort with everyone mucking in.
Rovers on the other hand……..
This.
I was in the ground around 1.45 pm.
We made no real effort to clear the pitch. A few did. Lots leant in their shovels in the centre circle and chatted. Think Soviet era work ethic.
Felt genuinely sorry for the Millwall fans. And the out of area Rovers supporters.
Something's rotten in the state of Ewood Park...

i miss those games of standing on the blackburn end watching through driving rain when both sides were smashing the **** out of each other in a hard but fair game
ITV 4 Week days around 5.50 pm
Even Liverpool's pitch when they were dominating in Europe was a scruffy mess.
One of these episodes shows Ken Bates of Chelsea being interviewed by Brian Moore appealing for assistance. Bates says that Chelsea are currently borrowing Met Police pitches to train on. He directly asks anyone in the watching audience to get in contact with him if they can help out by lending training facilities ongoing. Couldn't believe it when I saw it.
Different days.

QPR and Bournemouth don't actually have two games in hand on us.
Depends how you look at it.
Teams around us play each other a lot in the next few weeks.
Some of those teams have to drop points.
Impossible for our rivals to win them all.

Maybe they were always going to cash in.
They knew it wouldn't go down well with the fans.
So set up the narrative to let Rothwell take the blame.
Maybe he was always going to be sold?
Just covered their arses.

rothwell is going to get his head shoved down the toilet on tuesday morning🙂
Tony has been flushing Rothwell's head down the toilet for a long time.
It was always going to end up this way.
Amongst all this speculation, there is one fact: we only know Tony's point of view.
He's been manipulating opinion on Joe for some time.
It seems to be his management style. Pick on a few easy targets to send a message. That rottweiler Nyambe, for example.
If our season falls apart - let's hope not - Tony will need to share some blame.
Should never have come to this.
