  1. Enjoyable day all round.

    Just a couple of thoughts.

Tronstadt reminds me of Mecky - for those of my generation. Industrious, unspectacular, link up play. Left foot in obvious awe of the right one.

Some obvious confusion between goalkeeper and defence early doors. For example, passing almost into trouble inside the penalty area, miscommunication between Hyam and our GK. These things don't appear on the stats but they're crucial.

It can't be easy for a keeper coming into a team leaking 3 and 4 goals per game. This is such an important position. We have to make the Wahlstedt experiment work. Juggling keepers is going to bite us on the ass otherwise.

    100% Spot on.

The solution I would propose is there is heavy regulation on clubs' spending. The 70% of revenue for wages is a good idea.

The revenue needs to be distributed evenly through the divisions and get rid of that parachute payments shyte.

50+1 is also essential. The reason Bayern dominate the Bundesliga is because the TV deal is negotiated individually by each club as opposed to collectively a la the Premier League. If it was a collective deal the Bundesliga would most likely be far more competitive.

Funnily enough Bayern Munchen are trying to get rid of 50+1 rule.

The whole structure needs to change. Football clubs should be community owned. Without the community there is no football.

I think we'd better comparing German football from the point of view of their fans' match day experience. It's so much more connected. Beer, fans mixing, pricing structure, building alocal identity. German clubs started off as, and many still are, sports clubs with football being just one community aspect.

The fan experience reminds me of rugby league.

We have only overarching problem: we don't get enough people into the ground on a regular basis. But these fans are there. And the fan base isn't fixed and static. It can be grown.

If I were Swag, I'd be tapping up the  Lancashire rugby league clubs like Wigan and St Helens and asking them how they've survived and thrived on relatively small gates and catchment areas. And seeking their fans' opinions. Rugby League is brilliant for fans of all sorts because they embraced change.

We need an imaginative and informed five and ten year plan to get fans in. Without more fans, it doesn't matter who owns the majority of shares.

i thought he`d push on and absolutely stand out like a future international this season,it has`nt happened and for the first time i`me wondering if he`s got an attitude problem, especially when it comes to issues off the ball,he does`nt seem to want it back, content to wait for others to do the work for him,im`e leaning towards taking the cash if the offer is serious, jdt with 15 million quid to spend is tempting(thats if the indians and swag don`t take it all off him)

Is he holding on to nurse

@Tabula Rasa Half Man Half Biscuit were complaining about the evils of Sky TV as long ago as 1995 at a time when we probably didn't have a care in the world about where football was heading. True visionaries and possibly the greatest band ever imho. See also "Rock and Roll is full of bad wools" from 90 Bisodol for further evidence of their disdain of modern football culture.' Catch them on tour' if you get chance.

They even mention ex-Rovers players in their songs.

    Bobby Svarc anyone?

I don't watch the tedious hyperbole machine as I don't have Sky, but the rest of my family do. I find football pretty boring nowadays as it is all played in an almost homogeneous style, with variations of Liverpool or Man City's methods, pointless nonsensical stats and players being pansies.

And then you get the idiotic commentators trying to manufacture talking points to fill the time, or treating an argument between a player and manager like old grannies discussing an EastEnders plot line. It's all a bit pathetic really

You're not a Half Man Half Biscuit fan by any chance? 😉😁

Sky Sports TV is bubble wrap for the age...

1 up at half time, would have settled for that.

    Blades certainly look a threat.

Think we've another goal in us.

Need to look after the ball more when in possession.

Got my feet up and opened a bottle of Chat-du-Pape.

Not worried - will stick with original prediction, Rovers by a single goal.

According to the Premier League, Tugay had 14 assists in 233 games.

As far as I understand it, assisted and expected touchdowns are the origin of these terms. They're imported from American sports. As well as the notion that stats - and more stats - are an intrinsic part of the game. Tugay proves that's not true. Not everything that matters can be measured. He's a classic case.

There’s not really a recent precedent for something like this so the authorities will not want to go against the establishment who will decide if not holding sporting events in this country over the next few days is appropriate.

Unfortunately whether we like it or not will be irrelevant.

Hopefully the Watford game will be on

The monarch dying isn't unprecedented.  And she was 96 years old. Hardly a surprise.

The football authorities should have had contingency plans in place already.

All this frowning and chin rubbing by the PL and EFL just shows them up for the overpaid incompetents they are.

Dolan is shocking even he can’t know what his legs are going to do next …Replace him with Markanday….

JRC should be no where this team …

if JDT can’t see this then we are up the duff big time ……

Pickering is a big problem totally negative attitude…..

One trick pony who will be doing stepovers forever into his thirties if he's not careful.

Needs to broaden his repertoire, decision making, passing range, tackling etc., or he will end up in National League tout suite.

Not a player we can rely on. My heart sank when I heard.
