  1. Fair doos, there was so much ob for both games nothing other than banter was going to hapen. It was the exact same at your place. Although, the ob must have been really worried about the 600 or so rovers lads that came over on the train. It was 'delayed' in Blackburn station for 45mins conviently so we arived at Burnley Barracks just after kick off. For the record we too were escorted to and from the ground unchallenged. It fact it was like marching through Chernobyl - Not a soul in sight apart from a few inbred mutants! 600 , I take it you were all riding shotgun on the roof like they do in India .....a little over a hundred´at best PS, theres a big difference between, getting an escort round the outskirts of the centre nice and safe from those orrible mutant locals, and drinking in the centre without Lancs constab in tow.... Dan, you said "A good group of Rovers fans were locked in pubs, and also escorted to the ground.".... getting escorted in your own town PS, the way you lot are getting wound up by being called a nice friendly place, suggests to me you don't like that.....hmmmmm......I await more from the, ...."I dont condone violence BUT brigade....." PS Disko....good first posts eh.....which regular are you then.....?
  2. Amazing "C'mon have it" "oh wait we are wearing the same claret and blue shirt, for a second I thought that was the blue and white?" How exactly do you lot manage these sort of things? No wonder you trashed your own town last time, probably thought you were in Blackburn. Eddie...I dont expect you to be an expert in Hooligan etiquette.......but these people don't tend to wear club colours or shirts.... That could explain any confusion eh.... All the best
  3. Really? It was 28,691 against Burnley, yet it was 29,271 for when Newcastle came down to Ewood on Boxing Day. So it wasn't the biggest crowd of the season for when you came. erm....you sold out against Burnley (so you say)....but not against the Geordies..... Thanks for the hospitality Blackburn....a good days drinking in relaxed surroundings..... a free run around town.... Oh, congratulations on the result, its been an entertaining couple of weeks....... all the best in the next round Free run around town? care to tell me when this happened? As I have actual facts from people in the town. A good amount of Rovers fans were locked in the Sun pub by police. Burnley were escorted through the town (about 300) and then when they let Rovers out the pub they followed a good 500 yards behind. All this talk of you 'run our town' is typical bullsh!t hmmm touched a nerve did I....? I don't really care too much for this anymore....but just for you. Burnley were drinking in Blackburn and darwen from 2.00pm. various groups in various sizes. Light refreshment was enjoyed in Toll Bar, Beeches, a small group drank in the jubilee etc etc (some places did lock their doors when approached)..... 100 in the Depot, 50 in Darwen..... the Postal Order was off limits as this was HQ for those Naughty Blackburn chaps. They were surounded in their own town by plod After the game....2 to 300 Burnley were put in an escort to go to the station....but 40 or so evaded capture and walked unhindered right into town, without any police. They actually bumped into 30 chaps, and as the two groups shaped up to trade harsh words....they recognised each other as all being from Burnley. They then strolled on to the Boulevard together....and not a soul was on the steets. Some chaps in the escort further back did say that 20 Wovers "hardcases" did appear on the way to the station....but their show of bravado was quickly extinguished by the biggest firm on the night....Lancashire Constabulary Gotta say, I think Blackburn's one of the friendliest places I have been to.....
  4. ....I have thoroughly enjoyed the build up etc of the last couple of weeks. its what its all about "innit" ? At the end you progressed, we didnt..... But..... the rollercoaster of emotion it provides is second to non. Anyone who dont feed off it....should go and watch cricket....

Oh, congratulations on the result, its been an entertaining couple of weeks....... all the best in the next round But we didnt have stupid amounts of segregation against Newcaste. We sold all available tickets for Burnley, however in terms of actual people through turnstiles there were more for Newcastle. Is that really so hard to understand? so.......it was impossible for this weeks gate to be higher than against the Geordies.... but it would have been, if not for restrictions.... so it is fair to say, it was your biggest game of the season.... spose its how you interpret it.... PS....love the drum...... it all adds to the intimidating atmosphere ....so....err.....continental

  7. That's fair enough ribblesdale.......although shaking hands may be taking it a little too far... all the best!
  8. And your point is...... Just for you because you are too lazy to follow the thread........The point is...... your lot again are making figures up, exaggerating or underestimating to suite your own ends . Something you claim Burnley fans always do.... I think you lot are far worse...... (no smiley)
  9. ....more creative accounting Waggy??? If you want to be specific, the North Stand and South Stand at Wigan ( the stands at both ends) each have a capacity of 5,400. (smug smiley winking)
  10. aye of course....that's why only 4000 have taken the option of coach tickets.
  11. ....well....errm its only about 800 less than you brought to us in 2000, after the 17 year wait zzzzzzzzz. and the 2560 is about 1000 more than you took to Wigan - i had to entertain customers that game (on a cold midweek night), god your support was poor. 0-0, rubbbish game too. Your french left back spooned a great chance in the last minute. It was the first time i had been to a burnley match that didnt involve the Rovers, and after years of hearing from Burnley fans about your "magnificent support", i laughed myself silly. one Wigan fan even commented to me "its a bit different from when we played your lot (rovers)" which i believe they had the JJB's record attendance. Our crowds can be rubbish too, but the difference is we know it. I actually went to Wigan in 99? Our first game at the JJB. We filled the stand behind the goal (capacity 6k approx?), so they had to open the one down the side. Thats more than you have ever took to the JJB.... not denying your visit had a bigger overall gate....as being such a big Premiership flirting club, you were probably more of a draw to the rugby loving natives... (smug smiley sticking tongue out)
  12. ...deary me...I know you're a bit behind in Blackburrrrn. But have you not heard of t'internet???? http://www.bbc.co.uk/england/radiolancashire/ then select listen live.... they have the build up, but dont have the right to give live commentary during the game on't t'internet.... Anyway...I am off for tea
  13. ....oh, and the Radio Lancashire commentator has just quoted the Deepdale crowd safety officer " that at close of play yesterday, Burnley had sold 3100 tickets..." Seems you lot are up to your creative accounting again... Oh, and as to my non attendance..... I live in continental Europe Waggy. I think three return trips in a week would have been a little OTT...eh...
  14. of course not...the official announcement from the club yesterday was in fact a smokescreen. You concentrate on selling yours eh....before we get hold of em lol
  15. ....well....errm its only about 800 less than you brought to us in 2000, after the 17 year wait zzzzzzzzz. Excellent to see the 7000 at yours snapped us so quick....shame hardly any went past the season ticket holders....but...where there's a will...there's a way
  16. Perhaps if you had been able to shift your tickets you could have had the last laugh. There will be Rovers fans in home areas - who knows how many? I know of two Bolton lads who are missing Wanderers this weekend to take in the East Lancs Derby! Burnley's propaganda machine of best support in the land blah, blah, blah has been defunct for a few years now. It's not worth cranking it up again with only 10,000 regular home supporters and a failure to sell out against their most hated rivals in their biggest game for years. I'll be missing my first ever Derby having seen every one since the first in 1970, home and away. Come On You Blues! Who said anything about best support in the land? Certainly not me. The only propaganda machine in flow, is some of your colleagues prediciting a mass infiltration. Heard it all before.....zzzzzzz I admit I am actually disappointed with our home support for a couple of years now. I also think there a several factors/reasons for it. But, all said and done...both our clubs only have a limited pool to draw from. And at the mo....whether we like it or not....your home support is in excess of ours..... Oh...and I will claim one thing....a far better away support that yourselves... OK....I will go and prepare for the mass invasion of B***ards and our old friends from Bolton...that said.....you both shared a terrace at ours once before (1987 week after the infamous FA cup game......we were indeed honoured).........and it still werent enough Perhaps not you OLS, just the other 19000 clarrots that will be at the Turf. 19000+3995 = 22,995. The 19000 is one of you brethren speaking. As always each one says to a man, they never said that, but it get's said over and over. I'll say it again, we each have our embellishers. When it comes to support you have more than us, embellishers that is. Why you are this way I don't know, it's a myth you clarrots have portrayed since I can remember. I think some of the older clarrots have these young uns heads filled with nonsense I really do. See there are so many of you that have happened along since the ORIENT game, it's easy to understand why us poor Rovers fans would be confused. 15,000 on when you were a point or so from going out of the league, this following many many gates below 3,000 but listening to you lot it seems impossible cos everyone of these "new" clarrots seem to claim they were there through thick and thin. It does not add up. You have always padded numbers, it's what you clarrots do. You have as long as I remember and most likely will continue to do so. I liked the one where the subject of misplaced tickets came up, a number of 1500 was bandied around, the suggestions that perhaps you had sold 1500 less due to these misplaced tickets was met swiftly with a response from one of yours. Classic this, the 1500 misplaced tickets were actually at Blackburn suggesting that in fact WE were 1500 short of a sell out. Only a clarrot could contrive that sort of story, sad part is, I get the feeling he actually believed it. What's it matter fact is you were poorly supported in the top flight 4 decades ago, your urban legends began there, somehow skipping the 1500's and 2000's or 4500 record gate for the season against PNE, your support then was poor, but you always had the "population" thing huh. COme on Rovers do these suckers, I'm growing tired of their rhetoric. More references to our attendances during the dark days......I would have loved to have seen Rovers's attendances should they have been in a similar predicament. Mind you.....you were regularly getting 5 or 6,000 in the old second division.....nowt to write home about eh.....anyway, all the best for Sunday lads
  17. Longsiders...A few weeks ago we had the following exchange...would you care to comment on the highlighted statement you made in response to my original observations? Ewood Spark....thats not my handy work.....try Longsider1882.....nice try though

  19. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Jackanory! Dont you just love the farfetched rumours that surround these games...? A few stellas on a Friday afternoon, and then 50 becomes 500. Quality!
  20. I voted for Debs, because I for one will feel a lot safer with Gav off the streets on Sunday. Sorry Gav.... its the Magic lantern for you
  21. I think the key words in your piece were...."....You have your embellishers as we do ours..."
  22. pot....kettle.... reading your lots "Funny Stories Of Derby Day Vrs Burnley" thread on here and other posts in relation to your "invasion" of Burnley in '77 ....seems like you lot have got rewriting history down to an art form..... I can see it now...in 10 years time our home game in 2000 will have seen 5000 Rovers fans in the Longside, the away end sold out .... and burnley locked in for the own safety as Rovers fans ran amock celebrating a famous victory....
