Raya was urging the wall to move but it remained stationary so he gave up. That's what I saw.
I agree. He was frantically waving his arms urging the wall to move over. They didn't.

I heard it's been announced earlier this evening during a late board meeting.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that can't remember who the opponents were for their first match at Ewood

Great three points won through grit and determination.
Although there was a lack of quality from us, I really enjoyed the match.

Very saddened to read this.
Thoughts and prayers go out to Lenny, his family and friends.

is it simply to goad the away fans?
It can't be that.
Most stood as far away from visiting fans as possible, up in the far corner next to the Riverside.

I just hope there isn't a vast swathe of netting over seats towards the DE.
There's a twenty foot gap FFS.

The problem is it will slow the game down, kill the excitement
No more than players falling and staying down when someone brushes them, waiting for the physio and doctor to rub their ego better.

Me too, RIP Jimmy. Thoughts to his family and friends.

Received my ticket today and am seriously dischuffed about this match.
Last time I was there about 3 years ago (we won 4-1 includiing a Rhodes hat-trick - Berg's only win as manager) we were behind the goal standing on an old fashioned terrace with crash barriers and a low tin roof - just like the Darwen End 40 years ago. It was brillilant.
Now we're stuck in the seated North Stand, on the upper tier in the extreme left-hand corner.
Shame as I was really looking forward to this game
I was in the North stand during said match, it provides a good view but we had enough room to move where we wanted.
Hopefully my seat is nearer the half way line than the corner flag.
What I can remember from last time was the bitter cold wind that blew through the stand.

How is Mahoney getting on with Bournemouth? Has he played in the Premiership does anyone know?
Didn't make the bench for their first match

Well I missed Radio Rovers whilst sat in the car waiting for the car park to clear. Had to make do with listening about PNE, Blackpool and the scum on Radio Lancs.
Surely it could be run by some of volunteers, I only want to listen about Rovers, even if it isn't positive.

Rant - WTF are they seeding teams for. Just so the 'big' teams progress. Load of bollards.
Isn't it so the smaller teams get a big team in the draw and therefore better gate receipts?

It turned out to be a comfortable win in the end but that was due in part to Coventry giving us the freedom of the Ricoh.
We were never pressed and given time and space to knock it around.
I enjoyed the win and the performance but know for certain our league opponents wont be so accommodating.

You see 50/60s and 90s fashion, hair, music and styles coming around again every so often but I always wondered why nothing from the 70s
It did, in the 90's.
Anyway, after seeing Chapman's cameo at Southend, I'm hoping he starts tonight, also hoping Samuel starts through the middle rather than stuck out wide.

Coventry in the North section and Wolves in the South section?
Nice stadium Coventry and easy to get to. I've been before although in the directors box.

There can't have been seats all over the BBE and DE Aggy - at least half of each stand would be behind or at right angles to the stage.
You were right.

On another note, the security services were fantastic. It was an odd sight though, seeing a sniper on top of the Darwen End and sniffer dogs doing the rounds throughout the concert.
I can only echo how good he was. If I'm honest I was surprised how good the night was, more of a festival feel to it.
Sniper and spotter on the BBE too.

The 14,500 number was told to me by a reliable source at the club yesterday and I can't see why they would want to play down the number of seats. They also said they were only using the two blocks nearest the JW at either end.
I must be wrong then.
That'll be a first

Well that's wrong as there are only 14,500 seats!
I was at Ewood yesterday and was told that the concert was close to but not quite sold out. The stage was going up in the centre of the pitch facing the JW stand. They are using the JW stand, 2 blocks on each of the end stands and seats on the pitch.
When I bought mine, seats were available for the full BBE and DE.
With three stands and seats on the pitch there must be a capacity of at least 30k.

It's funny, I was always under the impression that Kean's ramblings were largely ignored by the press, but there actually were a number of articles which pointed out how deluded his comments were. Even the BBC - who are generally quite neutral in their match reports - picked up on it and were questioning how a manager with Kean's record could still be in a job. There was actually an air of distinct contempt across the media for Kean until the events of Dec 20, which is covered in the next installment.
I have considered creating an eBook once this is done. I'd have to research a few legal points but it's definitely something I'm planning to look into. Hard copies are a little more difficult logistically, so I'm not sure how viable that would be. Still worth considering though, as not everybody has an eBook reader.
A book or even pamphlet would be great. If not just give us the right to print off our own copies.
It's very painful reading though and gets the blood boiling.
