I have repeatedly said that Mowbray should have been sacked a while ago, is out of his depth and have criticised the squad that he has assembled. I hardly think that I have a place in the Tony Mowbray fan club.

Fact of the matter is that being subject to a transfer embargo for much of the summer, being limited to only borrowing kids on loan deals when a considerable chunk of the wage bill has been cleared at the expiry of the contracts of various experienced players, and to not be guaranteed even a small proportion of any sale proceeds that Armstrong will bring in would handicap any manager, not just Mowbray.

Venkys have created the prolonged crisis ever since they bought us. The fact that Mowbray is still here is again on Venkys, its not just a mere oversight.

Tony was well supported last season and we finished 15th. Of course he is only a symptom of a greater malaise, but this doesn’t exonerate him and I struggle to feel any sympathy. If he had integrity he should of walked at the back end of last season when it was crystal clear that the journey had entered a tailspin.

  2. The most demoralising aspect is that nobody is listening. This is an echo chamber. We now have a manager who's position is untenable talking about plans for next season. His talk of a journey is so far displaced from the truth he is starting to sound like comical Ali. The current plans seem to involve most of the first team squad leaving and the manager who has just presided over one of the worst runs in the clubs history staying. He claims that we play attractive football but I honestly cannot stand watching us passing it about aimlessly like we do at present and the plan seems to be that we keep pushing on with this style of play. Are we truly expected to buy into these plans?? When faced with a situation where ones feelings are completely ignored its healthiest to just disengage (although it's hard for me to imagine disengaging any further than I already have done in the last 3 months!). This is heading in a very bad direction.

Oh TM - stands for Total Mess these days - this identity stuff to justify his position is cringe worthy. I do wonder how low the guy can go.

The problem is like most of his statements it misses out a key element - that being this happens above the manager and doesn't prevent the manager from leaving. One example Swansea when they were under the old ownership - they had a number of managers go but always kept within the same passing style. Same with Brentford. Even with the excuses he makes to justify his position it doesn't work. The manager is not unchallengeable or unchangeable.

Also the hire and fire guff is also massively challengeable and a load of lies. We've had him as manager for over 4 years. The alternative to him going is not a hire and fire approach - it's a false dichotomy.

What I hate most about TM off the pitch is his manipulation of reality to protect himself. I really hope he leaves but sadly think he is bullet proof.

Our identity is 'easy to beat'

  4. This is not a difficult decision. There is seldom a clearer example of when a managerial change is needed. Either Waggbray hold too much say in their own employment or the owners have given up. Either way, it truly stinks! Having always respected TM, I'm majorly dissapointed by his actions. Any manager with a shred of professional integrity would walk when targets have been so spectacularly missed. When all the fans and media are no longer supporting you,  it's time to go.  He's Either a mercenary waiting for his pay off or a narcissist who thinks he knows better than everyone else. Disgusting situation.

  5. Its interesting that teams who visit Ewood adapt their style to suit the poor pitch. Yet its our pitch that we play on every week and we have been completely unable to change and we just plough on with our passing football that leads nowhere. Every match is like groundhog day without any suggestion of a  plan B. We really need a new manager  now.

  6. So dissapointed for Dacky. Going to take a huge deal of determination to get back to fitness. 3 games in 6 days is too much for a player who hasn't looked like he's back to full fitness yet. Especially after being out for so long with such a serious injury. We were chasing the game but the season is pretty much over so keeping him on was unnecessary. In his post-match interview Tony said that player welfare is the priority, but Dack has been mismanaged here.

He's either got a very short memory or is starting to completely unravel.

When questioned about Nyambe's omission on Wednesday night he definitely said there was no particular reason for it he had a big squad and sometimes players didn't make the cut. Not  even a hint about RN needing a rest.

If he's going to lie through his teeth he might as well get his story straight.

It's also exceptionally bad form to insinuate its the fans fault RN is injured. If there's any doubt over his fitness then any proper coach would ensure he doesn't play until he is right and all he has to do is explain that.

Or sub him off early. Its not like the injury occurred in the 8th minute!

  8. I have always liked TM and still do. We are in a better place than when he took over. He has assembled a very decent squad (on paper). However, we have stagnated and he seems to have totally lost the plot lately. What on earth was going on out there tonight? Its really quite a failing to make such a talented squad look so hopeless. I hope he leaves soon and preserves his good reputation with the fans. It would be a shame for it to go sour. It is testament to the job he has done that the manager job at Rovers is an attractive proposition now. Any replacement manager has a great squad to work with and the club are a lot more stable now.

  9. Huge fan of Tony, but I think he's taken us as far as he can go and should leave now. He's done some sterling work and would leave a new manager with a very decent squad. We are just clearly going nowhere now and he won't get us promoted. Occasional good streaky runs and optimism which takes us to the brink of the playoffs followed by a predictable nosedive when expectation rises. This has happened too many times to suggest that things will change now. Too many false dawns. The style of play is easier on eye and was exciting for a while early in the season, but its really ineffective now teams have figured us out and theres no plan B. The most annoying aspect of all though is the soft underbelly that he mentioned today. It has to be his responsibility and it has been as issue throughout his tenure. The challenge is to find a replacement who can instill this ruthlessness that we need to take us forward and keep the good players who clearly respect Tony.

  10. Disjointed display really and looked tired. You could see that their was plenty of quality within the squad, it just didn't click tonight. Opposition defended well but were pretty limited so a draw would have been a fairer result. Quite acceptable to lose the odd match and not perform well every game, how we respond on Saturday is the most important thing and we have the tendency to struggle against good teams and go on streaky runs of good and bad results.

  11. The number of missing players is especially critical given just how many games they have played recently. It wasn't pretty tonight, but it was gutsy and resilient which was good to see. We have conceded far too easily in recent games. The defenders went back to basics, put their bodies on the line and didn't make any errors. Not a game that will live long in the memory, but an important point.

He isnt getting a free pass tho.

But plenty.of fans and I would say majority of Rovers fans are still backing Mowbray from what I seen pre Swansea

I generally support the manager, but its pretty marginal. He's made slow progress year on year and the squad continues to get stronger (on paper). You do wonder if this decent squad could be completely rejuvenated by a new manager, but what are the odds of them making a good managerial appointment? There are certainly plenty of worse managers out there and at least Tony is a decent bloke unlike some of our previous managers! I'd say amongst his supporters though, most wouldn't be particularly gutted if he left. Apathy has set in.

All I want to hear is Mr Balaji or Mrs D or preferably the whole clan have made a conference call to TM and Waggot.

"Hey guys thanks for your hard work but we are concerned about losing this many already. We know the circumstances but we feel we've given you adequate backing and support to cope with this. Please put on record we are not happy with the way it's going and feel it's only fair to expect improvement in the coming weeks "

Some fucking culpability and the odd kick up the backside.

Tony is coasting and the comfort zone mentality filters down to the players. He needs pressure applying from Pune now, but I somehow doubt its happening.
