I saw a figure recently of just over 1000, thought more myself but it was an official figure apparently.
According to official figures there were 1004 of us in Lyon. ..... Any body else doing as round about a trip as us ... Thurs morning Manc to Gatwick then Gatwick to Amdam .... Friday Amdam to Heathrow .. Heathrow to Manc?!!! Seemed like a good idea at the time.....

Just waiting to read the headline :-
BASEL FAULTY IN ROVERS WIN FARCE!
-
Come on then lets list a few facts then? Not predictions stone cold facts please!
Fact 1: When I walk into my conservatory on a sunny day the temperature in there is warmer than the ambient temperature outside.
Fact 2 : The mechanism explaining the effect described in fact 1 is as follows :- Glass is transparent to short wavelength light radiation but is opaque to long wavelength infra-red radiation. Light radiation (from the sun) enters the conservatory and is absorbed by non-reflective surfaces within. This is then re-radiated as longer wavelength infra-red radiation which is now trapped by the glass.... hence the temperature rises.
Fact 3: Carbon dioxide exhibits similar properties to glass in respect to it's effect on the two types of radiation.
Fact 4: Carbon dioxide which has been locked-up in the form of various carbon compounds for millions of years is being released in an 'instant' (in geological terms).
Fact 5: Geological history demonstrates that 'sudden' environmental changes on a global scale result in mass extinctions. Adaptation due to evolution functions over geological timescales.

And they wonder why they struggle to sell tickets! Who the flerk wants to get a parking ticket / walk miles in winter or both simply to watch what will be on the big screen in some nice warm pub?
Thanks YET again to the narrow minded twots at BwD Council.
You couldn't make this stuff up!
I won't be expecting an immediate reply to this ..... right now he'll be getting tanked up in a bar in Basel.

Anyone else catch the sky footage of our 2-1 win back in the mid 90's with Pearce scoring the winner, our fans must have filled the lower tier of that stand(4,000)....how times change eh!
Hammers fans making a big thing about our lack of support on KUMB
I was there that night (Berg scored as well) and believe me there was no were near 4,000 there.

I would love to maintain my amazing record of never getting a prediction right. So:-
Bolton to win!!
I would have prefered you to predict that ...... "Bolton will get something from the game!!"

Jordan and Grooby?

Well it's up to us now boys and girls ... let's get out there and spread the word!
As has been pointed out many times over the years, it's us the fans who are the best recruiting agents the club
has got. Everybody out there should aim to entice an extra attendee to this game wether it be ... a lapsed fan, ...
little Johnny who lives down the road (always kicking a ball but parents aren't interested in taking him to a game)
.... your dad! (swore he would never set foot in Ewood again after the 1960 Cup Final ticket fiasco) .... your wife /
girlfriend (or both!) ... work colleages ...anybody! People generally will not start attending football without being
helped through the process of buying tickets or arranging to sit next to someone they know. So get out there and
help them!
Want a slogan to rally around? How about .....
WANT MORE FANS? ..... THEN FAN THE FLAMES!

The game at Hibs was just as Rovers had signed Shearer and I was mightily impressed with his play that day.
Strange .... from my memories of the game he looked 'lost'. It all clicked for him at West Brom though the following Saturday, in another pre-season game, when he scored his first Rovers 'wonder goal'.

Although part of GM now Bolton has a lot bigger population than Blackburn and is more affluent imo with a smaller %age of immigrants.
That's a smoke-screen. These ratios have not altered significantly in the last 5 years.
However during our promotion season we had 5000 more supporters than them on average. I can only assume that a top six side......,
ditto for Rovers
.... a new ground to be proud of,....
ditto
Europe,....
ditto
a great mgment duo in Gartside and Allardyce......
ditto. (for above read Williams and Hughes)
and the media dislike for them has given Notlob supporters a collective spirit .......
ditto.
They are on an upward curve for the moment whilst the perception in Blackburn is that we are on a long term downward one.
So back to my original question....Why?
-
Flights to Krakow from Doncaster!
-
How far is Cologne to Bayer Leverkusen???
About 25 miles.
-
Can anyone explain how Bolton are managing to maintain their attendances? They play some of the dourest football in the land .... the club is run by charletans...most of their fans have to make extra effort to get to Horwich ... the pubs of Notlob screen their games .... and yet they still pull in 5k or so more home fans than we do when only a few seasons ago we clearly had the edge in numbers. Solve this riddle and we may start to get to the bottom of the problem.

.............. we know from experience that there are no givens in European football.
What about Shay up at Newcastle?
Don't be mislead by the 3-0 scoreline for Parma; WHam could easily have won that game as they dominated the first 20 minutes when Parma couldn't cope with Tevez. Outstanding goalkeeping, getting tight and hard and three complete cock-ups in the West Ham defence won it for Parma. The last was hilarious, a three man last line pushed up for offside 40 yards from goal so Parma dinked a through ball from the centre circle and two runners went through from onside positions. It was like watching the parting of the Red Sea.
One final note. Those Potuguese officials were terrible. There are referees worse than in the Premiershipafter all!
I watched the highlights of the other game that WHam took part in last night at Palermo .... sounded a similar sort of game to the one you watched, they played quite well but did they really think they could stretch their squad so much and hope to progress on two fronts?

JW was on Radio Lancs. earlier this evening and reckoned we had shifted just short of 17000 tickets (including season tickets) so far.

Anybody else on the 18:30 Stansted to Salzburg Ryanair flight on Wednesday? Should make it to the irish bars around 11'ish .... bring it on!

hope tugay starts, fairplay we have missed him!!!
The bloke is a buffoon .... live on radio yesterday (5 Live) he predicted Sheff U to beat us. Plonker

I was waiting to see what the club were going to come up with. But 479 is ridiculous.
I was also waiting to see what the club came up ... I've been impressed with the organisation on their previous trips ... but can't justify £479 for one night with the potential for further European games ( ) on the horizon, so it's the day trip for me. My one nagging doubt is ticket availability. The last time we played abroad in a city as accessible as Saltzburg was the trip to Lyon in '98. That night there were 1004 fans in the away end.
-
Yep I think they have fallen again by about 500-1000.
Uh, uh .... looks like we're going to have to organise a suicide watch for 'SIMON GARNERS 194'

Any updates from Cleethorpes?

blackburn council once actually spent some money in the town centre, rather than brookhouse-unfortunatly the bateries only lasted a year!this represents the live of jesus-strange folks us non-onion worshippers
'Nowt' to do with B'Burn council ... paid for by C of E. This work of art is best viewed at night when it lights up and is designed to give a similar effect as light filtered through stained glass does on the inside of the building. I like it myself.
-
Dillo, great to see the town through the eyes of a stranger. Your upbeat spin on the area is a refreshing change from the negativity of their own town spouted by some of the less well travelled members of this board.

Presume it's pre-match drinky-poos in the Antigallican ... or has anybody found a better establishment?
