Feyenoord drew 1-1 with Basle. Baz tells me that rovers need three more points to qualify from the group.
well...if we can nick a win at feyenoord then why not aim to have a 100% record?
-
we can win this competition.....
-
great result, we've gotta be odds on to make the last 32 now considering its the top 3 from the group.
-
this is starting to look like training ground football, if five were any good at football coverage they'd have displayed the action zones for the second half by now...
-
no more than we deserve...great header by savage. COME ON ROVERS
-
argh think maybe nonda took one touch too many there, made it harder with all the defenders coming in. still did well to get himself into position...
-
the analysts are recognising we have a problem down the left, wonder why....
-
on a side note, the coverage is truly awful...
-
MGP awful as usual, we're playing well though and the goal was really unlucky...
-
can't wait till nelsen comes back though. we looked a bit shaky at the back still at times, especially during that bit when we were under the cosh...
-
he went through but the keeper was already in a good position to save it
yeah wasn't an easy chance, but had he tried to lift the ball over the keeper he mightve had better luck. still not a bad miss.
savage was very lucky not to be sent off just then...overall though our performance today has been encouraging except for the period around their goal.
-
arrrrghh! bentley maybe shouldve stolen the points there...
-
why the hell was he in yards of space to head that one home? jesus...
-
aahhh i'm really excited about this. would love a glamour tie - celtic is the nearest we've got in a competitive match in europe. but if we got one hopefully the rest would be easy..
-
yeah, newcastle in the first pot is taking the mick, although i guess its based on previous performances etc.
-
yeah and mokoena was fairly well known too. nelsen though i'll freely admit to not having had a clue about...but a friend from new zealand into football told me he considered him to be in the top 20 defenders in the southern hemisphere without being biased. he's right i'd say.

kasabian are a poor man's primal scream...the first album was pretty good though, the second album is pants.

anyone who's into indie check out a band called howling bells from australia. a few of you mightve heard of them, sooo much better than the rest of the @#/? that gets pumped out of that country (jet, wolfmother etc).

i think jeffers will be the forgotten man again at ewood. shame for him but i think jason roberts will be our third striker meaning jeffers will never get a proper run in the team to really get some form going.
-
i like my beer, but i've never understood the absolute need for a beer inside the ground. i mean you can always drink before and after the match anyway, so long as you're not too drunk so they won't let you in.
-
1-1
our run continues but we'll advance.

Grabbi began his career with Juventus, scoring once in two appearances in the 1994-1995 season. Unable to break into the team, he moved to Lucchese (8 games, 76 goals)
Yeah the 76 goals in 8 games, no wonder we were interested...............
me and my mate were bored one day and did that.

In the two games I have seen Shabani Nonda play, I get the impression that he is a better player than Benni McCarthy. Obviously we will need more games to get a more accurate view of the two, but I just think so far that Benni seems to p!ss about with the ball too much, whereas Nonda seems to have a bit more urgency and movement. Nonda also looks more of a physical presence as well, which obviously helped when challenging the likes of Woodgate today.
thing is though while we can't draw conclusions on either of them, the signs are encouraging. and what you said about benni is the sort of stuff that coaches can deal with and that adapting to the english game can help a lot, as the premier league doesnt give you as much time.
if i put a bet on itd be on both of them being about 12-13 goals a season strikers...although that may not be the case due to injuries/rotation with roberts and jeffers etc. but thats what i'd expect of them...however there's a chance they could be seen as being up there with some of the best come next season...not henry but the likes of keane, johnson etc.
-
let's hope he propels us to a champions league spot so we'd have the cash
seriously though i mean it's early days yet and so far we havent been able to tell either way as they've played well but need to settle in, but there's every chance that in nonda and mccarthy we may just have got a player in either of them who could turn out being one of the top strikers in the league.
you can't rule it out...i mean their past records suggests it may be a possibility.

honestly, when we were bottom of the league under souness, did anyone think we'd be up here so quickly?
the thing is...we seem to be getting better and better. wait till reid and nelsen get back in the new year.
