Bottom of the League
Well I've never seen this before. Apparantly we've a fully fit squad - and sit proudly at the bottom of the injuries table. Touch Wood.
Jinx. Aaargh!
-
Figured it needed someone who's too old and past their prime or it wouldn't be accurate.
Good call. How about this?
Bentley Bentley Bentley Bentley Bentley Bentley Bentley Bentley Waddle Bentley Bentley
-
I've just ran an analysis of the best possible starting XI for england and it composed of this:
Bentley
Bentley Bentley Bentley Bentley
Bentley Bentley Bentley Beckham
Bentley Bentley
I'd agree with that. Except Beckham
-
Why did we need Cantona when we had Sherwood...
There were chants of "Who needs Cantona when we've got Wegerle" at the time. Still makes me cringe to this day.
-
Thats typical story-out-of-nothing journalism. Sometimes people need to look behind the story. He was probably asked how he felt about starting on 2 games this season.
Look at what he is actually quoted as saying.
""Every player wants to play as much as possible .I've always been patient, but I don't like sitting on the bench. I started more games towards the end of last season, but it has been more frustrating this season once again.""
It's not like he's stamping his feet for a move benni-style is it. Personally I'd play him before Tugay nowadays anyway.
Exactly. If he said he was happy to be sitting on the bench, that would be something to worry about.

The chap who diverted the thread was Flopsy. Please re-direct your comments toward him.
No Gordon it was your frequent and tedious digs about the "happy clappy" board. And it's not just this thread either. How about giving it a rest and talking about football?
-
Correct simon.
Then maybe you should take it up in the Ask Admins bit rather than trying to drag the football threads off topic.
-
Without being indelicate the paper's reserved for No 2's Flopsy.
As for the Happy clappy board, Like aesf I haven't been on it... I dont think.
Anyway what are you hanging around for Flopsy? Surely you mods are no longer necessary, surplus to requirements and therefore by definition also just as free to leave as I.
btw You appear to have quickly adopted my suggestion for the new name of ICBINF....... so when will it be officially re-named on the home page? imo Far less aggressive sounding than ICBINF which sounds like a fight bubble from the old Adam West Batman series.
This is getting very tiresome very quickly.

I liked Neil and respected his openness about wanting out and appreciated his efforts for the club until he went.
That said, it's no coincidence that we're getting fewer bookings since he (and Andy Todd - another player I liked) left.
-
Hey watch it, our all time leading scorer was partial to afew pints and a good smoke
-
I dont think this is the end of his moping antics though. Prepare for another bout in the new year.
OK so Benni's got a bit of a weakness for saying the first thing that comes into his head whenever a reporter's mic is in sight. Compared to hookers, booze, toot or ciggies it's hardly the end of the world is it?
-
True, but then Hughes has managed October's performance on about 1/% of Fergie's budget... I know which I think is more deserving of the manager of the month (although I hope Hughes' doesn't win as we all know what an albatross that award is for most managers.
On another note, nice to see us getting more plaudits www.squarefootball.net/article/article.asp?aid=4982
LeftWinger's right I reckon. All those 4-0s win.
Plus Rovers have got Man U coming up and we could do with the curse landing on RFW rather than Hughesy!
-
26 but turning 27 next month?
Oh righto. Actually that's quite accurate by my standards
-
A good 5 or 6 years from him left then!
IF in January Fulham still want to pay £5m for Roberts would you take it? I would!
I'd be sad to see Jay Rob go as we've definitely not seen the best of him yet.
On the other hand he is injury-prone and there's no doubt that Santa does a similar job with better finishing.
I think we should wait til summer at least. A decent cup run (or 2 ) will add loads of games to our schedule and we'll need the cover.
-
I also agree 100%, I have full faith in him tonight! I actually can see him taking over from Savage in the next 18 months if we dont sign a replacement.
How old is he?
He's 27
-
Never been Mokoena's biggest fan but got to be honest he's improved a hell of a lot.
I've no qualms whatsoever about him filling Sav's boots while he's injured, don't think I'd have said that 12 months ago.
Nor would many of our supporters. The Axe's progress is a huge feather in his cap and, um, the caps of his coaches!

was a few years back but i remember the injustice like it was yesterday
david dunn was running down the wing, fabrizio ravenelli hacked dunny down so he needed to be stretchered off-no free kick given, ravenelli runs up the other end of the pitch, sees a shiny silver coin on the floor and makes a dive for it.
free kick says the ref, i beg to differ says i
free kick ravenelli scores, dunn go's off with serious knee injury.
they then score again from sloppy defending.
we pull one back
then late on in the game we score a great team goal, only to be knocked off as offside when clearly i was more in an offside position then markus bent was
highly annoying but thats my first rovers away game
I remember that one. The ref was doing a "get up you poof" gesture at Dunny, then the stretcher came on.

(by the time the drummers are dead).
From some of the reactions on here that may not be very far away (murder's not cool kids, the drummers are annoying but doing 25 years is worse)
-
LOOK AT ME ME MUM IM TELLY BANGING ME DRUM AGAIN
Abbey, that's it in a nutshell.
In the original poll I voted to have em carry on but stop trying to put off the keeper (as if that's going to bother any of them, even Lehman) - that's long since changed and they can shove their drums up their asses as far as I'm concerned.
Maybe they can organise it like the hooligans allegedly do - away from the grounds! They can meet up with the Sheff Wednesday band and that Pompey bell
end-ringer each week at Derby station, annoy the hell out of each other then get kicked in by the plod. Meanwhile the Blackburn End can get some bloody singing in!-rant ends-

Just seen Control (the Ian Curtis biopic). Awesome film! The director combined the 2 threads: Joy Division and Ian's personal life superbly. It's really moving and the band stuff is fantastic.
Best film I've seen this year.

Always thinking with your stomach hey simon!
Mmmmm piiiees!

Big interview with Andre Ooijer in Hollands biggest footie magazine today. I'll get some quotes about his thoughts on Rovers from it later and put them here.
When I read that my first thought was: Hollands Pies do a footie magazine!
Must be lunchtime

Okay we'd all like to see our strikers chasing balls down like Dickov. Trouble is a striker with Benni's skill and flair combined with a Dickov-like work ethic would be way out of our price-range.
It's not 1994 anymore, we're not in the Champions League so we get arte or labore, not both.
I'm still very happy that Benni's a Rover!
-
If Mark looked at the topics and threads just out of interest or accidently now he would see "Hughes Out".
Don't you think he would jump to conclusions?
He'd jump to the conclusion that this MB has a few pillocks amongst its users. He'd be right, too.

It's "I wanna be a Blackburn Ranger" and IIRC it's discussed on last season's Semi final thread.
