I for one wish him the best of luck if he goes to Bolton. I'd much prefer to see him in blue and white....but it would be fantastic to see him hit top form again.

There was a chant of that at Wigan when Matty scored...Great Harwood Town FC's (R.I.P) greatest player!!

If he had shown the simon garner shirt when he scored then he would have been an absolute legend. Still think he is there or there abouts. Us lads from Great Harwood stick up for our own!
Just a bit of trivia here....my dad had the shirt "there's only one simon garner" made for him ready for when he scored against the dingles....unfortunately the rovers board got wind of the story and told him not to do it.

Bearing in mind his father Eddie Edgar used to be goalkeeper for Newcastle, i wouldnt be suprised if he supported Newcastle and felt like it was his home away from home.
Edgars dad was in the stand i believe when he scored that first goal for Newcastle. Now who can tell me that that didnt mean allot for him!
He was probably brought up to support the Toons by his dad anyway not to mention the fact that he was in Newcastles acadamy on scholarship... So im sure he had a point to prove.

Still I agree wtih you though. Homegrown/Academy players are important and its good to see them playing. Especially when they are as passionate as Derbs was when he scored!

I've watched Matty play for quite a while now....he used to bang goals in for fun at great harwood town. His raw pace is a threat and looked very sharp when he came on today!!

Saying all that the highlight for me has to be Macky's (snr) rendition of no nay never in Grasshopper! (I must have spent 20quid just going toilet in that place.)

Best of luck to Shefki! he always gave 100% and socred some very important goals! Although he wasn't as gifted as Bellamy, you could never question his attitude. Im pretty sure he'll come good for palace, he should score plenty of goals in the championship!

Got a bit of a scare today. Laughatthedingles text me saiying "no more pedersen"...so i text him back saying "what you mean..no more pedersen"
He then text saying "you will not see 'Pedersen' on the back of a Rovers shirt next season"
Pretty funny for him!

You can get a train from York straight to Accrington station. Its not far in a taxi to the ground. Takes about 2hrs because it is the slowest train in the world!!
Anyway, I'd love a game against Great Harwood Town...could well be a fairwell game!

Don't want Konchesky or Warnock.... both very average footballers. I think we should just keep Lucas till the end of the season.
