1. rover.gif and that's why we have so few fans between 16-30 i'm afraid tinykit.gif

    396895

    Rovers v Liverpool £32

    Rovers v Brum £30 plus £12 coach

    Rovers V Chelski £32

    Rovers V City £32

On top of all of these games you have beer, travel and food...

Out of the 6 remaining games, I will more than likely be going to Liverpool, Birmingham, Chelski and Man City. Until starting uni in 2004 I had a season ticket in the b'burn end, but living in Newcastle has meant i'm unable to attend most matches So now that i'm back over Easter I have to spend over £120 on 4 tickets.

So...with a close to maxed out £1200 overdraft, as well as having other expenditure, how can John Williams not realise that there are plenty of people in a similar prediciment to myself?

It does not take much to offer a reduced price or a 3 home game offer to returning fans.

I'm not just being a student and wanting things handed to me on the cheap, but for the likes of myslef who have followed rovers all of my life, why the hell should it cost so much??

  2. I was chatting to some sunderland fans last night (in the toon) and I was saying that they do us over this weekend in true Rovers tradition...they quickly responed "you havin a laugh...where s**t at home" I then went on to mention stead and again they responded "he's s**t as well!" So really why on Earth should we lose this match? If we are seriously in contention for Europe nothing but 3 points is acceptable! Sunderland have only got 10 points all season!!

So having being re-assured how bad sunderland are, I've changed my mind on this one! I think we'll win.....

2-0 (Friedel and Encleman to score) biggrin.gif

  3. Think this could be a difficult game. They are unbeaten on the road in 8 games and have looked pretty decent in their last 6 games or so. Knowing Rovers, they wont make things easy for themselves....as Jim said after the lord mayers show. However I think we'll snatch it by the odd goal in a scrappy affair.

Hopefully tomorrow Mr Savage will score to reveal a shirt saying "Im Sorry Mr Toshack" That should please That tosser of the radio.

    Rovers 2 Villa 1

    Bellamy and Savage to notch

    att- 20,001

  4. Total - 20 extra pts = 63pts

Now looking at what I predicted I think it’s a fair prediction. Pompey away we may struggle as theyw ill be fighting for the win, but iv also said 0 pts at Charlton, which we are capable of winning (like the league cup game)

    387047

    Spurs Away – 1 point

    Villa home – 1 points

    Boro home – 3 points

    Sunderland Away – 3 points

    Wigan Home – 3 points

    Pompey Away – 0 Points

    Liverpool Home – 0 points

    Birmingham Away – 1point

    Chelski home – 0 points

    Charlton Away – 1 point

    City Home – 3 points

    16 extra points!

Hope Im wrong, but knowing Rovers, they've never done things plain sailing.

We've only got ourselves to blame if we throw it away, but some of the teams we play are fightnig to stay in the league (pompey, brum, s'land) and some (city, wigan, spurs and possibley charlton) are fighting for the european places.

  5. An extract from Jeff's book:

Puts to rest any doubt that he thought he was a celebrity referee

“I played a little bit of extra time, waiting until play was at the Kop end, before sounding the final shrill blast…the fans behind the goal burst into spontaneous applause. It was longer and louder than normal, even for a big home win. Did they know it was my final visit? Was it applause for me? They are such knowledgeable football people, it would not surprise me.”

  6. I hear these plonkers want Bobby Robson back !. I hope he comes, and then it'll be a return to the ill discipline and laziness of old. Bobby would surely be the only decent manager stupid enough to take on these fickle whingers who want any manager who does not win the league by winning every game to resign.

    377264

not all of them are stupid plonkers on that photo! Me and my mates are amongst them singing souness out for the laugh!!

  7. So where is Everybody going before the match?

I'll prob statrt by the trian station in the Union Rooms (weatherspoons) then make my way up to the ground....if anybody wants to see the Geordie dancer he'll probably be in the City Vault on the bigg market.

    Prediction

    Rovers 2

    (MGP and Dickov)

    Toon 1

    (Big Al)

    Verdict...............

Souness Sacked.....and a quality night out on the toon!

  8. The End of An Era...I know you could have said that a couple of years ago when he had his accident, but there has always been hope in the back of my mind that he would come good again.

I remember when he scored two in the FA cup away at villa in one of his first games back thinknig to myself....he's on his way back.

Then the goal he scored against Liverpool was reminissant of the good old days.

    You'll alwats be a leg-end......as far as you don't play for burn*ey

  9. ROVERS: Friedel, Reid, Neill, Khizanishvili, Gray, Emerton, Tugay ©, Savage, Pedersen, Bentley, Dickov.

Subs: Enckelman, Kuqi, Mokoena, Jansen, Thompson.

A totally shocking lineup this!! First off, Neill is playing centre half, oh dear. Second, why is Bentley on the pich and not Kuqi?

    Looks like another 4-5-1.

I was optimistc in my prediction, but having seen this line up we would be lucky to even get a point..

Going to watch it live on tv today, not looking forward to it!

WHY IS BENTLEY PLAYING!!!! HE's CRAP, HE's CRAP, HE's CRAP!!!

    EDIT:

Reid as rightback? Why doesnt Hughes play Matteo in the centre and Neill as right back? Has Hughes lost the plot just like Souness sad.gif, I hope not...

    366082

If your gonna be so negative why dont you just keep your comments to yourself?

  10. Only just come across this thread but I have to say...

... How on earth has noone mentioned Chris Kamara?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd like to strangle him with his own ball sack till he pukes his vital organs out.

    After that...

    Andy Payton

    Ian Wright

    Kevin Keegan

Ailton (Think thats his name was playing for the turkish team vs Bolton the other night)

    356451

Chris Kamara is a legend...how can anybody hate him? He lightens up Saturdays with his 'over the top' remarks! Not to mention his love affair with Rob McCaffrey on a Sunday morning! He's one of the best characters on television.

"Dare you shoot, Dare you Shoot....he has shot from some distance and it has rifled into the top corner......unbelievable” Then back to stelling-Sounds like Jon Harley has shot from outside the ground!

What’s he ever done that would make you want to strangle him with his own ball sack?

  11. I'd have Dunn back tomorrow. Obviously he's been injured recently, but i'm sure he'll make a contribution to Brum's season. I think it was a terrible mistake selling Dunny, he loved the club and if it wasn't for Souness, he'd probably still be here now.

Not sure who's coming through the Academy at the moment, I think Sergio Peter may be the next to be given a chance.

  12. Shane Warne The Spin Machine Strikes Again! That bowl he got strauss with turned a mile! He ridiculed Strauss again!

England have done prtty well so far. Should be able to get some more runs on the board tomorrow. Think we have a 120 lead or so now.

    Come on England!

  13. I'm pretty confident that we can do it. They have shown they can bat against Mcgrath in the one day matches. Pietersen batted well against him briefly this morning. There's plenty of time for England to get the runs. I've got a feeling Strauss is going to be the hero!

    Come On England!

Been addicted to stick cricket over the last week or so! Quality game!
