  1. Yes he also likes to bake and rescue kittens.

He rescues them only to cook them afterwards? How mean.

On a serious note, The Dark Knight, really really good film. The only down point was Bale's put on deep gravely voice he used when he was actually Batman. It was a bit laughable at times. I don't remember it being so off putting in Batman Begins. And although it was inevitable considering the guy died before the film was released, but if Ledger gets oscar nominated at least it won't just be because of his death. Does it beat Jack Nicholson's portrayal? Spose it's unfair to compare, the two Jokers were vastly different.

  2. The guns are too lightweight. It looks solid but you can empty an entire clip into somebody and it's like you're spraying him with a water pistol.

It's one of the few games I've bought where I couldn't be bothered with the achievements. It's a great demo for Unreal Engine 3, but an incredibly repetitive game.

That's an odd complaint to have considering most of the guns are capable of killing someone in one shot.

  3. For those into retro gaming, it looks like there'll be more games added to the Wii Virtual Console with the C64 and Sega Master System catalogues being added.

There's retro gaming and then there's just too bloody old to get any enjoyment whatsoever out of it. The early 80s arcade games on Xbox Live are just utter pointless to play even for a retro nostalgic feeling. There's some good games on the master system which might be worth it (well would be worth it if you couldnt just download them for free on the PC) but the C64 is a step too old, you might think you loved all them games back when you were 5 but play them today and the whole memory gets ruined. At least that's my experience of these really old games. Even Dizzy is losing its charm.

  4. Gears of meh... You're not missing out on much on PS3, it's a great looking game but pretty annoying to play.

The thought the first one was brilliant, still one of the best games on the 360, both single player/co-op and multiplayer. Sticking a grenade in someone and watching them blow into many gory pieces is still a very heartwarming activity to partake in.

  5. Did you realise you could save at any time by going to the toilets or security room? Also, you're supposed to play it in chunks - do a few hours, mess up something, go off and explore, find something cool, then restart and do it better but with your character at a higher level. Makes fighting the armed blokes pretty easy.

Buy it back! You're missing out.

I agree, most people don't "get" how you're supposed to play Dead Rising (which sounds incredibly condescening for which I don't mean to be) but I know I didn't understand it really at first but just ploughed on as you keep any level ups you make on your next fresh game - making it easier every time you restart. I also made the mistake of worrying over every mission and survivor - only people who are level 50 and played the game obsessively will be able to do every mission and rescue every survivor. Also, even if you fail one of the story missions it's not game over - you just get a different ending.

  6. Ive been really getting into Uncharted : Drakes Fortune this week on the mighty PS3. Really good game well worth £35, although like Call of Duty 4, it will be completed relativley easy.

Do people who complain of easy games ever crank up the difficulty settings? I'm trying veteran on CoD4 and it's far from easy.

  7. Well thats my holiday gaming over for this year. I received a wonderful xmas gift early this year...got the 3 rings of death, my console is barely a year old what a joke. I have arranged with xbox and ups to collect tomorrow so fingers crossed and i might be playing Assasins Creed again before 2008. Has this happened to anyone else on here?

My xbox broke a month or so ago, not the red rings of death but still under a year old. Replaced in the shop i got it from (Gamestation), no hassle, no fuss, took 10 minutes.

Did you try the shop before going to microsoft?

  8. I hear you mate. Thats the reason its not been traded in although I feel I wont get very far because you can be killed with one hit cant you? - which I reckon is impossible to do as some of the levels there is no way you cant be hit at least once.

It's extremely difficult and will have you pulling your hair out as the slightest error means you're dead. However my point was the ending may not seem no cheap after you complete it.

Edit: Come to think of it, it's been a few months since I did it (on the 360) so I may be dreaming there's a different ending on realistic mode, but I think it's different anyway. Apologies if you work through it all and get the same crap ending you got before.

  9. Right, Rainbow Six Vegas again.

I have been banging on about how much I have been loving playing this game and it has been awsome but remember that I got this game last monday and I have a new baby so havent played it that much and I have FINISHED IT. Yes it shocked me too when it happend. Further more I can honestly say that this is the worst end to ANY game I have EVER played on ANY machine. So disapointed. For those that want to know what I am going on about, highlight the black line below - WARNING: DOING THIS WILL SPOIL THE END FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO PLAY THIS OR ARE PLAYING IT

The ending is that there ISNT ONE. You are just playing and then it comes up on the screen and says "To Be Continued" and then the credits roll. Grrrrr

Now complete it in realistic mode.
