  1. I just knew, he comes out saying 'i'll only leave Blackburn Rovers if they want me to', it was just to good to be true, why can't we just keep hold of our best players. If he leaves Bentley and MGP will be looking around too.

Exactly, I think we have to be sure of our facts, before we can even justify booing Benni, but apparently Benni isn't very good when it comes to giving interviews, and maybe he's guillable, and it's easy to get carried away with the glitz and superstardom.Alas that's what the Prem as become.

I've made an habit of never booing a player ,but it doesn't mean I'm not bothered. The best thing we can do, is just keep faith with the club, and keep supporting Blackburn Rovers.I think they've done a great job in reducing ticket prices, and maybe a few more clubs are following by our fine example. The mega rich wages and the mega rich lifestyle will always prove too much a temptation .They all want to join the jet set.

I thought Jose was leaving Chelsea.

  2. One thing is for sure, if we were to sell him, we could easily ask £15-20 million for him, considering the amount of goals he has scored and what other players, who are less talented are being priced at.

    [/quote

Well according to rumours Berbatov is valued at 40 million, but people say Benni being valued at 25 million is ludricous.

The value of the player shouldn't be judged on the team you play for, but on how good the player is.

I Seem to find booing players distracts from getting behind your team ,and affects the performance of the rest of the team.I think that's what happened when we played West Ham at Ewood, when Lucas returned.I think booing can have a adverse affect on the rest of the team.

I think whats needed now is some sort of re assurance from the board or the manager.Confirm or deny.

  3. Some sh_tty pop tossers called Scooch. Apparently they had a few hits 5 or 6 years ago and have reformed. Pitschifter, Pop Will Eat Itself, KLF or Mulligan and O'Hare should go for it next year. That would be a laugh.

What does Simon Cowell think lol. :wstu:

I always vote for the sexiest, what's the music got to do with anything.

I don't think they'll ever find another ABBA.

Am i right in saying Sandy Shaw won it ,because Express are giving away a cd of her tomorrow.

  4. Does anybody on here still watch the Eurovision Song Contest.Every year i say i won't watch it,but curiousity always gets the better of me.

You just can't resist the outrageous costumes, and eccentric groups. It's a good laugh if anything else.

I'm just amazed what a cult following it has, euro followers are just as fanatical as trekkie fans.

I've not even got a clue who's representing Britain. :tu:

  5. It isn't a Sky Sports News rumour - It is the Sun story that they have copied

Well the BBC have picked up on the story now, if it was just the Sun,I've laugh it off,but when it's the BBC then it starts to look a bit more serious.Benni's putting out feelers.Arsenal, Chelsea,Liverpool, Man United,,,,,,,come and get me.

I think the remark that I've already payed Blackburn back, maybe i can live with that, but why say one thing then do another.Even Lucas was honest enough to make his intentions clear after serving us for 6 years.

Compared to Benni's signing on fee of 2.5 million, and Berbatovs signng of 10 million, then game for game benni has definitly been the best value for money, and in my opinion just as good ,if not better than Berbatov.

I wouldn't want to lose Benni, but once again if a big club does offer him a Champs League place,it's out of our hands, again.

I'm sure Sparky will try his best to persuade him that is futures at Ewood.

  6. You can't blame him for wanting to play Champs League football, but why does another Rovers player swear allegiance to us, then do the dramatic u-turns.

Jose had hhim at Porto, but Benni said the reson he didn't sign for Chelsea and picked Rovers over them, was because he wanted to be guaranteed first team football.

Once again,Bellamy, Duff, Shearer, and more beesides, can we believe anything they say.

I do agree ,if the Sky Sports rumour is true, then he could have at least waited till after the fnal game, and before the first d/debits are due on the season tickets.Just when we are starting to bbuild another team fore the future and fetching back the fans.

This article from May 7th in the Telegraph, nearly had me convinced he was happy at Rovers, but once again ,more fool me.

  7. Resident Evil, Tombraider, Final Fantasy, Pirates of the Carribean (inspired by the Monkey Island series), The Wizard, AVP

and of course we have some in production that I am eagerly anticipating Max Payne, Halo and Far Cry

Add me to the list of fans of superhero to comic movies, fact still stands though...those movies blew

I tend to find what makes these superheroes popular to me, is nostalgia.I remember beng knee high to a grasshopper when all these were on tv.Looking back now, some of the old tv stuff looks so corny, especially Batman lol.

Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Fantastic 4, Stingray,Thunderbirds, BLACKBURN ROVERS......You never forget the superheroes you grew up with.

  8. Warriors is a great movie, bought the DVD last year. Basic plot is a bout a NYC gang who are falsly accused of killing another gang leaders member and have to travel through lots rival gangs territory to get back to coney island.

DIVX is just another way of packaging up the movie into a format the computer can understand a bit like mpeg and wmv. You can download the divx codecs (software needed to play them) fairly easily from divx.com and you can normally tell a divx movie as it ends with .avi. Some dvd players actually recognise the format and will play dvd's with Divx movies on them. Once the codec is installed you should be up and running and be able to play the movie in windows media player if you so wish. I personally use media player classic myself as its extremely lightweight

Only issue you might have is sound as some divx movies have surround sound encoded in them, but thats for another topic in the pc and concole section.....

Thanks for the info, much appreciated,I've installed dvix, now.I watched Warriors, and i really enjoyed it.I loved the baseball gang best of all.I'll have a look and see if i can find it on dvd.I prefer windows media player, and i also have a power dvd installed that came with a disc that came with the computer.I prefer getting the original films, because you get all the special stuff and features, especially sub titles.

I'm also going to look for the Wanderers movie,as well(it's not a film about the Trotters hehe,)it's not that scary.

Saying that, the tvlinks site is ok, some movies play , and some won't.(SPECIFIED FILE MISSING ON SOME.)

  9. In the 'movie discussion thread' to boot. Barmy isn't it? ;)

Lol..I'm trying to Download Spiderman 3 from the WEB(nephews jokes) .

I've tryed the tv links that somebody left on here, but i need to install divx, whatever that is,but i was looking at the Warriors poster above.I watched that movie years ago,and i remember enjoying it,but i can't remember the story.I've downloaded it from that link , and it's playing perfect.there was another film out at about the same time, the Wanderers.

Whoever put the link up........cheers. B)

  10. The unholy trinity of disappointing "comic to movie"

I bet the guys putting the box set together were laughing their arses off

I really don't think they'll be laughing their arses off at all, in fact the superhero stuff are very popular to all ages. It's pure escapism.Incidentally they do box sets to cater for all types, even the more intelletually challenged Barry Norman types.

I still haven't seen Batman Begins, but judging by its plaudits, then I can't wait to see it,or then again i may just wait for the box set coming out.

Talking of movies,Kill Bill Volume 1 on bbc3 at 10pm.The soundtrack alone makes it a must see movie

  11. I like Daredevil.

Have i got the right one, is that the one with Elektra, because i enjoyed the movie, but it was a very sad ending.

I've not seen Elektra yet, but i got Daredevil, Elektra, and Extrodinary Gents on one of those 3 movies box sets.

Why are all the movies always in widescreen.I use pc to play dvds, but i need to buy a proper dvd recorder,I'm just old fashoined lol, I can't get out of habit of VHS.I think somebody told me with a proper dvd player, that you can change the widescreen and view any way you want.

    I'm a techno phope lol. :o

  12. Well, according to DigitalSpy, Sony have anncounced there will be three more Spider-Man films after this one broke US box office records on it's opening weekend. It doesn't say what record but maybe it's the amount of people asleep by the end of the film?

That's a shame, because I've enjoyed the first 2 movies, but this one is the longest running time and maybe a bit darker.Saying that i love the action sequences and the special effects, and i think Kirstin Dunst is gorgeous.I'll wait for the dvd coming out, then i can skip the boring bits.I'm sure they'll make another movie, because Spiderman is a cult hero, and i always thought he was the most popular superhero.

So, who is everybodys favourite superhero, the new series on sci-fi was pathetic lol.

I'm sticking to Spidey, because like me...he's the oldest swinger in town. B)

  13. Went down on a coach, came back on the train

National express from Preston, with a bottle of vodka and 12 cans of Skol.

After a drab first half, I sat down on the terraces and actually said "McKay Out"

You Said Mackay out, lol, and i said Colin Hendry was useless. :rover: He didn't half make me eat my words, and after scoring the winning goal he became a legend and an hero, and he did us all proud.

I wondered what happened to Big Col, i met him at St Albuns club one nuight, doing a presentation and handing out trophies for footballing youngsters.

I never saw the goal proper until i got home and watched it on Granda reports,i was so high up in stand, all I so was a ripple in net.

Great days, and I'll never forget the reception at the town hall.

I always felt sorry for Don Mackay , when Rovers ended his mangement, but we needed somebody more high profile, the rest is history.

  14. Superb stuff. What a good match to welcome the new Wembley, and to see two Rovers players on the scoresheet.

Bentley the first English man to score at the new Wembley, and Matty scoring on his debut.

Matt Derbyshire just seems to have that magic touch.

Well done to the pair, they've done the Rovers proud today..If they both keep a cool head on their shoulders , then they are surely destined for the senior squad.

This is when it gets scary. How often as sucess with Rovers players ended up with us losng them the following season.

  15. Thanks, I thought Simon might have been an uncle or something. Odd really as both play for Rovers, and are strikers.

Here we are. This extract is from Wikipedia.

    .............................................................................................................................................................................................

Joe Garner (born 12 April 1988 in Blackburn) is a professional footballer who plays for Blackburn Rovers. He plays as a striker, the same position as his namesake Simon Garner, Blackburn's highest-ever goalscorer. Contrary to some stories, the two are not related. On January 19, 2007, Garner joined Carlisle United on loan until the end of the 2006-07 season

    ............................................................................................................................................................................................

Who knows,he's only 18,he may become a Rovers legend one day.It can't do him any harm getting some first team experience wiith Carlisle.Wish the lad well.

  16. John Lowey!

    Check out the gate

LOL,that game was from the 1983/84 season ,but i remember when them gates were a way of life at Ewood.

If we got 17,000 today, we would call it a disaster, but we don't always realise how lucky we are,but those fans loved Blackburn Rovers just as much as the fans do today.

It's great to see just how far we have come in a few decades, but lets not forget our past.

Wether its Ronnie Clayton, Simon Garner, Matt jansen,Alan Shearer, or Benni Mccarthy , they're all Rovers legends B)
