Always a pleasant experience when the drummer leaves his toys at home. Hopefully he will forget the early knick-off time tonight and we can all create our own atmosphere like the good old days!
Is it true we have a bugler now,or is somebody just winding me up.

Well, I'm going to try some Snow Patrol. After listening to some of their tracks on the new tv series "Primeval",i think they are worth a look in..
I try to keep up with the times.
-
I got the new number 1's Supremes cd ,today.
Out of all the Motown hits, I still rate Diana Ross and the Supremes as the best.
Great stuff.

I know I'm living in fantasy land here, but do the winners of the UEFA cup still play the winners of the Champions League in that European Super Cup thing in August?
Bring on the Barca.
I think they do...I'm sure Sevilla beat Barcelona in the last one.
I've edited post to add this link...........3-0 sevilla.I remember watching it live on tv,,it as a good game.

With our habit of picking up injuries, it's good to know that Todd is there for back up.
I got told he was out injured today, and last week he was poorly.I haven't got the foggiest.I'm just happy he's still with us.
-
Why are they bothering to make those films? Football movies can only ever be rubbish.
Funny enough, i picked up a video yesterday ,from town.
When Saturday comes, and a coincidence that we are playing Sheff United tomorrow.
I've seen it before, and it's not abad movie, It's realistic and down to earth.

excellent post.
knowledgeable and clear thinking rovers fans (the majority) understand todd's importance to the team and rate him far higher than ooijer and henchoz, in- particular.
however, other people's opinions of todd are based mainly on the fact that he refused to be sub against leeds, in 2004, despite previously being told he was playing. he was told this on the afternoon of the game.
souness was the manager, and interestingly, most of todd's detractors also slate souness (for his fall-outs etc..).
so, how can they slag off souness' man-management skills/style and not see that todd had a point.
That man Souness, who didn't he rub up the wrong way.
Todd,Gilespie, Mcateer, Dunny.Could anybody suit the needs of Souness's self inflated ego.Would Dunny of come back to Ewood if he was still in charge.Even Andy Cole was considering coming back to us not so long ago, but he said the only reason he left was because of Souness....Mark Hughes is a far better manager, and he doesn't let personal issues cloud his judgement, and he seems to bring out the best in the players.
I thought when Todd made his comeback , he was playing better than I'd ever seen him play, and whatever had gone on in past was all behind him.
I for one won't be griping if Todd is in the squad tomorrow.,until Sparky decides otherwise,I'll still be behind him...he's the gaffer, after all
-
Isnt it Damnit?
I have no time for Todd, he let us down by spitting his dummy out when we needed him most.
No sympathy for him, although if Jan thinks he's a bit of totty, well maybe she can get a nice photo of him or something
I don't know what all the fuss is about,at end of day they are all Rovers players, aand when it comes to match's where Rovers have to get stuck in, then Todd's the man for the job.
I'm more worried that a small section of fans always need a Rovers player to hate,i do say a small section, but sometimes they shout and scream the loudest. At moment that man seems to be Mokoena, don't get me wrong, at moment he's not playing very well, but isn't that the time that people should get behind those players, and not verbally attack them and give them more abuse than your average referee,...the same thing was going on with Pedersen not so long back, but Sparky knew best and stood by him, and i for one am glad he did
All players go through a bad spell, and sometimes just need a confidence boost, and I'm sure Mark Hughes and his staff know best.
-
Sweet Lord almighty - I didn't want "a reaction", I wanted to STATE MY OPINION. That seems to be okay with most of the members on this board, but for the Todd-fellators.
Your opinions of Todd are undoubtedly explained however in the statement you make about judging players by how you would have liked to have played against them - I presume you've played a great deal of high-level Sunday league. Todd is a first-division standard centre-half who plays very much in the style of a Sunday league defender. No nonsense, no finesse, bad attitude.
P.S. There's an apostrophe missing from your post. Find it yourself Mr. Grammar...
Here we go again, grammar on a football board. Can't some of you people get a life.
If you can understand what is being said, that's all that matters.
-
I'm with Todd,and i hope he stays a Rover.
I've heard absolutely nothing about this rumour.
-
There's nothing on the official site or from the official SMS service, which tends to be the first place news gets out.
The only paper to report it is the Daily Star, not the most reliable source. I'm crossing my fingers it's a load of Ballacks.
Simon
I agree , I hope it's a load of ballacks, too.I think Andy Todd was looking very good in the games he played when he came back.
I think it would be a mistake to let him go, he's the sort of player Rovers need at moment.
-
We managed for years......
...Im fed up with songs that I start being stopped by out of time drumming, or worse still what does that mean? get into em.
People who sit anywhere near me will appreciate exactly what I mean.
Well, I'm not keen on drummers, but at same time it's a free country, and afterall they still love Blackburn Rovers. Each to their own.I blame seats and over stewarding , more than i blame the drummers for the lack of singing.I just think you sing better when your stood up.
-
Why on earth would he want to 'get out' of £70,000 per week?
Alternatively........
....if WHU get relegated and he exercises this clause then he certainly cannot be deemed a mercenary! He would then be due hundreds of apologies from members of this board, assorted media hacks and rick parry! Oh and he must really like watching old vids of Bobby Moore etc after all.
I see your point, who else would offer him that sort of absurd money, but he did insist on the clause ,in the contract.
Who knows how lucas's mind works
-
a terrace would put a bit of atnosphere in the ground.
Not being able to stand up, and drummers, what's it coming too.No wonder fans don't sing much at Ewood.
In the old days with only 7,000 on, i used to leave the Blackburn End after game, and my voice had gone, because we were singing that much.
It is hard to sing above a drummer, but i'm in Riverside, so I'm lucky
-
wow,I think I'll start going to church .
U2,BRING 'EM ON.

My amusement is with West Hams pathetic plight, and nothing to do with Lucash breaking his leg.
First the argie farce, then the manager merry go round, and now getting a player on 60,000 a week, to warm a bench for 6 weeks.
I've nevr liked West Ham , and that was well before Lucash signed for them.I've rather Wigan stayed up, than them, and send that team and the crazy Magnusson into the Nationwide..
Why should Lucash be bothered, he can't lose. He's on a nice little earner all round ,with his relegtion "get out" clause.
End of day, Rovers have faired very well in the transfer market, and have been sensible.Another million for Mceveley to boost the coffers, and help us get one last decent player before the transfer window shuts.
I'm very impressed.
-
Lucas Neill gone off injured
Lets hope he recovers soon lol.
60,000(or un-disclosed fee?) a week to warm a bench, that won't go down well , will it.He'll be reading his relegation clause.
-
unsporting behaviour.
43:44 Booking
Foul by Lucas Neill (West Ham) on Hameur Bouazza (Watford). Lucas Neill (West Ham) booked for unsporting behaviour. Direct free kick taken left-footed by Anthony McNamee (Watford) from left wing, passed.
Naughty,naughty, lucash.Some things never change.

Todd hasn't done anything to upset Sparky. He's been plagued by injury. Toogs has had a hamstring problem over the last week as well.
Cheers for that,it was just something that was said before he came back into team a amonth or two ago. That he was out of favour with Sparky, and wasn't a first choice selection, but since he's been back ,he's been playing excellent.I have been worried about his abscence again, and if it's only an injury, then i'm chuffed that's all it is,and he's still an option when fit again.I think we really need him, and if he does play, I wouldn't object to him being captain for a while.
Whatever, let's hope we can do the biz tomorrow...has they say "lets AVE IT"

(Please don't use that word again) NO
Hendrie??? ESPECIALLY after the controversy surrounding him and that alledged verbal abuse slung at a disabled united fan... shiiiiit, i've been giving my friend stick about that all week
Quote again
I don't think you've anything to worry about, reading between the lines from the Stoke newspaper.
It's not looking likely that Hendrie will sign for Rovers

lol..I see what you mean, the guys aa total nutter, another baad boy.Now i know he'll sign(more controversy).
-
Nelsen shouldn't walk in and grab the captains band straight away IMO
He'll be struggling for match fitness.. the captain has to be a strong icon and cant be huffing and puffing at the 60 minute mark
I'd tip Friedel or Todd to pick it up
I would like to see Andy Todd get the captaincy, if only temporary.I've like to see him back in the first team a lot more, i thought he was playing some great fotball.
What did Todd do to upset Sparky. :!:
I've just seen , that Tugay isn't playing tomorrow, and Dunny still isn't match fit.
This Lee Hendrie rumour is interesting, that a club as come in for him at the 11th hour, and stopped him signing for Stoke for the time being. That club is believed to be Blackburn Rovers.Interesting to see what happens there.
-
It says on the official site, that Ryan Nelsen should return to first team action tomorrow. That's brilliant news, fingers crossed
-
Ooijer is out for the season. Where have you been?
My error.
It's ok, there's a thread above now.

I think Derby have got a bargain with McEveley.I watched Derbys demolition of Colchester on Friday evening, and McEveley looked top notch.
I could say i was a little bit envious seeing him in a Derby shirt, but considering some of the new signing we have picked up,I can't grumble.
It looks like we soon put Lucas Neill behind us.
Warnock, he's a wonderful prospect, and wouldn't be a bit surprised to see him in an England shirt in the not to distant future.
