  1. By the way, still haven't seen a suggestion as to a successor who is (1) realistic and (2) available.

Well, I'm not in the "souness must go" camp, but IF he did go then what about Moyes? If Everton do sell Rooney then Moyes will probbaly resign, even if they keep him we could probably lure him away from Everton - I don't think he's happy there. BUT, I'd rather Souness turn things around at Rovers.

  2. Well, my favourite album of the year so far has been "Heros to Zeros" by the Beta Band, and what do I find when I look on the NME website this morning - Beta Band have split. Bum! sad.gif

  3. What do people think of the new Polyphonic Spree album - "Together We're Heavy"? I think it's marvellous, much better than the first album.

Went to see Spiritualized at the Royal Festival Hall (Southbank, London) on Sunday and they were brilliant! My eyes are still reeling after the mind blowing strobes and 10 minute wall of noise at the end - amazing.

Anyone like "Kasabian"? I've only heard a couple of their singles, but I'm well looking forward to their debut album in September. Actually September looks like a good month for new albums - Trembling Blue Stars, The Delgados, The Music and Kasabian. Hopefully the new Spectrum album will be out by then too!

    Play twice before listening.

  4. Do Picturecentre have a female singer? I think I might have heard them and was impressed!

Yes, they do and not only is her voice lovely, she's quite a "foxy chick" (IMO) too!

  5. Anyone like Low? They've just released a box set of rare stuff - 3CDs and a double sided DVD - only 14.99. Bargin! Some jolly good stuff on there as well.

Trembling Blue Stars - anyone? Their new single is great, new album due in September, can't wait!

Also, Picture Center - they've just released a free CD album. If you like melancholy, mellow music then check out their website - it's got some sample tracks and details of how to order the new album. I love 'em. www.picturecenter.co.uk

  6. Anyyone like the Datsuns new album - "Outta Sight/Outta Mind"? Not as immediately catchy as teh first one, but after a few listens it's a real grower. I especially love the last track - I Got No Words. What a killer riff!

  7. Two potentially good new albums due out next Monday (7th June):

The Datsuns - outta sight/outta mind

    Velvet Revolver - Contraband

I've only heard the first singles from both this albums and both are great. Slash is an amazing guitarist - I love the solo on Slither. The Supregrass Singles comp is also out on Monday - lots of music to listen to, lots of money to be spent!

  8. The Beta Band - "From Heros to Zeros". Top new album!

The Beta Band's "The Three EP's" was (and still is) amazing !

I didn't get anything by them after that (I think they've released 2 albums including the new one since ?), maybe I should.....

Is "From Heroes to Zeros" anything like "The Three EP's", Ste ??

Well, they seem to be alot more focused now. The Three EPs (how good is "Dry the Rain"?) had some pretty long rambling tracks on. The latest album is just over 42 minutes long with 12 tracks on. I think it's brilliant, it took 2-3 listens but I love it to bits now. The latest single "Assessment" is on there, if you've heard and like that, then you'll like "Heros to Zeros".

  9. Just got the latest Bonkers CD - (number 12), well worth it just for the Sharkey mix. Also just got the Young Heart Attack album - great, uptempo rock'n'roll. I like the boy/girl singing too, work well.

  10. Dug out 'Behind the Music' by The Soundtrack of Our Lives this afternoon - I'd forgotten how much I love this album !

    thumbs-up.gif

    Anyone else a fan ???

Yep, love that Album and I went to see Soundtrack of our Lives the last time they toured in england a coupel of years back - brilliant. I've also bought another of their albums, "Extended Revelation" but I've found that one a tad disappointing. Looks like thet are doing a mini http://www.thesoundtrackofourlives.net/index_flash.htmltour

soon, but now in the UK - boo!

  11. Why is that good news? In fact...why is that relevant news? It's in the US, nowt to do with us.

Or was it just an excuse for tiresome anti-Darkness rubbish?

Yes, it is some "tiresome anti-Darkness rubbish". But I was under the impression that this board had a global audience and that this thread was about music - that's why i thought it was relevant. blink.gif

Anyway got the "Perfect Colors" album by Mellow, over the weekend - well recommended.
