  1. There's something not right about these reports of Lucas. Something doesn't add up.

Why is Mark Hughes allegedly saying Lucas has been offered new deals when/if he hasn't? Surely Lucas has spoken with Mark about the situation? If Mark is really keen for Lucas to stay he would have been on to JW/TF about sorting it.

If Lucas is unhappy with the Board he surely must have talked about it to others in the squad thus possibly causing unrest?

Why have Reid, Ryan, Sav, Bentley, Morten apparently had no problems sorting out new deals with the club?

It just doesn't make sense to me.

cos they don't have Peter Harrison as an agent..

  2. Been chatting to Lucas this morning.

    Some interesting snippets

He laughed at the prospect of West Ham - " No way mate"

He hasnt been offered a contract since January 2006 and was offered the same money over a longer deal.

He personally doesn't mind being booed but the rest of the team do and it affects them

He doesn't think we should sign Dunny cos he's not fit and easily picks up injuries

Laughed at the Damien Duff/Mytton Fold story

Has no ideaif he's staying or leaving but says it looks like he could be staying till May

Also has no idea if he's starting or is captain today

Says the Board have told him they will not pay silly money and wont even negotiate with his agent

do you know Neill well brownie?

find it a bit odd that Rovers haven't offered him a new contract when they've told everyone about several contract offers, even his agent has commented that Neill have rejected several contract offers (hasn't he?)

fair enough - understand why he doesn't want a move to West Ham, the lad is not stupid! :)

edit: cheers for the post btw!

  3. Tugay should be worshiped in the same way as Man Utd worship Eric Cantona. If ever a club needed someone to worship its us.

Giddygoat mentioned sometime ago about producing T-Shirts in the style of Che Guevara with Tugays face on, they'd go down a treat, maybe someone with knowledge in this area could give us a shout on how we could do this.

For me his footballing ability is one thing but him celebrating with the fans on the pitch at the end of most seasons and the league cup semi final win will stay with me forever. Feynrd was just typical of the man and someone mentioned it was the first time radio Lancashire had actually commentated on the warm down!

    Legend.

If someone makes a proper Tugay t-shirt I will order several!! Tugay is an absoulute legend. :rover:

  4. Nice win. Defending for first goal was poor and McCarthy's petulance was embarrassing. Bentley's goal, cracking.

People still wanting dogs of war 4-5-1 away from home?

I think Hughes failed completely with his tactics in the 1st half tbh!! we were absolutely aweful, players out of position, players shouting at each other for doing mistakes....

In the 2nd half we put on a decent team in a well known formation (Hughes might have had some words with the players as well, Bentley certainly didn't wanna tell what he said on telly :)) and we were all over them for the whole half, especially the first 25-30 mins!

McCarthy have now scored 6 'goals' in the last to games with only one of them counting :P

EDIT: preston blue: no Gabriella to be seen :(

  5. Please can somebody link me to Bentley's goal???

you should have been there mate, that goal have been on replay in my head since I left Madjeski! :) and I got it refreshed about 20 mins ago when it was on match of the day!!!

    gotta love it :rover:

I'm still unbeaten on away travels this season, and now I'm going back to Norway for a peaceful christmas....

  6. Hi Pks,

Yeah I was over for the game. There were 9 from the branch and it was great craic. A few had taken a bit too much to drink and knew what it was coming to. One of them even thought Andy Todd was on the pitch in 2nd half!! Anyhow, I didn't have a number to contact you on unfortunately. I kept an eye out for you and Nidge said he saw you in Holland going bonkers at the match!! Send me your mobile over a PM and I'll call you later. Trust all is well and you are set for the festivities.

    Talk soon.

    Simon.

oki, will send you a pm with my number, although I thought I e-mailed my number to you a few weeks ago. Haha, nice to hear you lot had a good eve at Ewood! Yep, I met Super Nidge on de Kuijp and later same evening in Amsterdam!

    cheers

  7. Looking forward to the trip to reading tomorrow, should be a good day out with the lads before christmas (my last game for a month!! :( )

c'mon Rovers! I've never got it right with my score predictions so far, so I'm hoping for an early christmas present from Rovers tomorrow

    Reading 0 - 2 Rovers

Derbyshire 34 (although 'the Nonda' will probably start..)

    Savage 67

    :rover:

    see you all tomorrow!

  8. i will be going anywhere apart from Tel Aviv & the instanbul clubs really- just don't fancy them at all.

On a side note- why d

why did rovers play the feyenoord song at half time rather than before the kick off? quite a few lads in the BBE (riverside way) were trying to get it going in the second half.

Rovers need to persist with this and eventually it may catch on with those that didnt go to rotterdam!

they tried during the 1st half as well :)

  9. No he didn't. The guy is human, the morons booing rovers players need their heads screwing on. Exactly what do they think they can achieve?

    agree with you den

although I think he could have done it a bit different, I understand why he did it. He's very passionate about his football and was clearly hurted by the booing from some retards in Blackburn End.

  10. Don't believe em. If we were interested in him than I would imagine that he would be at Brockhall for a medical or alternatively some privat hospital in some specialists consulting rooms. The only medical facilities at Ewood relevent to Dunny to be inspected is the stretcher to see if his arse will hang over the sides.

and as for the personal terms, I reckon Dunny would like to test our Hollands pies before signing the eat-as-you-play contract :)

I would be very happy if we sign Dunn, lets hope we get the good old player back injury free :rover: but what are the chances.. :(

  11. Maybe Matteo will play? Centre back is his best position, after all. I'd rather see him on McEveley at centre back alongside Ooijer, with Neill and Gray at full back.

    Friedel

    Neill Ooijer Matteo Gray

    Bentley Tugay Savage Pedersen

    McCarthy Nonda

Still not convinced Derbyshire is worth a start yet, but if Nonda is still ineffective then he could be taken off at half time again.

I reckon its more likely that Mokoena will play right back and Neill centre back if Todd is out, and personally I would choose Derbyshire instead of Nonda...at least then we got pace up front! and Derbyshire can't possible play worse than Nonda have played recently

  12. Pedersen was crap on Saturday, granted he scored a cracking goal but didn't do much else IMO whereas Bentley did have a poor game however he has been performing alot better than Gamst so far this season.

I also think that by dropping Pedersen he will realise that his name does not automatically put itself on the team sheet and hopefully that will benefit him and Rovers in the long run.

I thought he was a lot better than we have seen him recently, and maybe the fact that he got substituted at half time against charlton gave him a wake up call (he did state in the norwegian media that he felt a bit hurted by being taken off, and was looking forward to the newcastle game to improve himself). Bentley has been very good for us in the start of the season, having played all (or at least most) games for us so far, and with him being taken off at half time in the last two games, he's maybe getting a bit complacent about his position in the team (along with Pedersen) and needs a game on the bench.

of course I wouldn't mind Peter and Gally in the starting line-up, but we all know that is far too unrealistic so I decided to drop Bentley this time :tu:

  13. I can't see why you wanna play Bentley and not Pedersen Jordan?? Bentley was sh1te yesterday and Pedersen had a decent game for chance (at least 2nd half)

and don't let me start on McCarthy  he's work rate is absolutely shocking! he just walks back to the halfway line after an attack and prevents Rovers from using him in the next attack, and if they does he's getting caught offside all the time.

If Jeffers is fit, this is my line up:

    ---------Friedel---------

    Neill - Ooijer - Todd© - Gray

    Gallagher - Tugay - Savage - Pedersen

    Derbyshire - Jeffers

although we all know that McCarthy will play anyway...hopefully Derbyshire will be given a chance instead of Nonda though.
