Just listened to Soccer Saturday - Frank McLintock and George Best saying the Rovers job is not a good job. Thanks fellas! Jeff the legend then mentioned that lots of money is piling onto Dowie. And I'd bet 20 quid on Hughes. Typical - I think I've jinxed Sparky
-
Has anyone mentioned Chris Coleman? Probably not much chance.
Strachan or Hughes please...
-
The definitive reason that GS went to Newcastle is because JW had read this

I hope so.
If the Geordies are p*ssed now, wait until they find that one out!

David Pleat. Look out you ladeeez... Alledgedly.

You mean they've got Saunders as well?!?!? You are seriously kidding And money too...
-
Interesting thread on the Toon Fansite. Looks like the geordies are trying to imply there's more to Soueys signing than meets the eye later on!
Seems a bit more to it than just sour grapes. If it were true, it wouldn't surprise me. Those in charge at Newcastle have hardly had a whiter-than-white career have they?

Lock up the till. Alledgedly

Click here to see the list of currently available managers PLUS the records of every manager in the leagues. Quite interesting...!

Nah - not convinced by Micky Adams. If you're looking in div 1/championship/whatever the hell it is now then I think Paul Jewell stands out by far.

ooops - sorry, you said Short...
-
I think you are being a bit unfair. I think the likes of Tugay and Short have more than shown their commitment recently. Even Andy Cole has been digging deep

My daughters have had the free under-8 tickets for the last few years. A great idea and got them to matches and now both fans for the future (although the eldest has decided this year she likes Arsenal...sigh )

Duff chose to go - he always said he wanted Champions League football and with Chelsea's money he was never going to stay. We keep dragging it back up but it's like any relationship that ended - you get over it and move on. Some fans don't seem to have grasped this.
Worryingly, the only couple of players who showed any real heart today were Tugay and Amoruso. Yes they made mistakes but they looked like they wanted it more than anyone else.
I'm not sure how you can motivate millionaires if they don't want to be? The problem is that individually our players are probably too good to go down, as opposed to some of the other sides fighting it out. And I'd suggest that translates itself into the "I'll be alright, I'll get a move to another prem club" mentality.
We need to start the contingency planning around the youth that will be left after the summer fire-sale...

I have to say I don't agree with all the "Souness must go" threads, but I remember back to 98/99 thinking the same thing about Hodgson. Eventually my view turned but looking back Kidd was a disaster.
To all those arguing for a change, who would you suggest? (that is available, or is likely to be to a club like Rovers) I'm struggling to think of anybody decent
New Manager is Mark Hughes

C'mon - let's not be like that. Ther's literally minutes of managerial experience and success on that panel!
