You would need to offer the Riversiders as best as equivalent available seats in the JW, as you would imagine they would want to keep a side on view.

Look after them properly and most would keep going as they would know the club are being accommodating and it is just a temporary measure for the good of the club.

However, behave like they have with other closures and just shut it and plonk them, say, behind the goal in the DEnd and yes you are right you’d see a load of non renewals.

Ha ha so that’s how I could get my Darren End seat back ?

The trouble with comparing our gates to those in the 80s is it is setting the bar as low as it can go in terms of comparisons.

The 80s were a low point in 100+years of football history in this country, not just for Rovers but for pretty much all clubs. Hooliganism, dilapidated grounds, all sorts of other things, contributed to plummeting numbers going to matches.

Football has moved on. Virtually everyone, even ourselves, are getting bigger gates now than the 80s. There has been a significant growth in English football over the last 20 years even in the 2nd division.

I fear that using our 80s attendances as a benchmark is inappropriate. Man Utd had sub 30000 gates in that era, so should they be happy with anything above that?

We need to do better numbers wise. There has been a failure on Rovers part to build on the promotion campaign and whatever the ins and outs of it we are now at less than Bowyer era levels of home fans watching games.

My opinion is that decisions made at Ewood have contributed to that. A succession of unpopular and questionable ticketing decisions over several years. This includes season ticket holding fans in 3 stands being forcibly relocated without consultation.

I spend a lot of time on twitter and forums and I can see efforts being made elsewhere to grow and improve.

Anyone going to Reading on Saturday have a look to the left of the away end. That area was previously empty and given to large away followings. Reading have now made it for home fans and restrict away followings to half the stand. Home fans are encouraged to go in this new area, right next to away fans, and sing, shout, wave flags. Not my cup of tea but it is an effort to improve atmosphere. What are we doing? The opposite - closing areas, rubbing hands large away followings and maximising distances in the ground to make life easier for staff on matchday.

The amounts of money made by sticking a few quid on tickets are inconsequential in Ffp matters when we are sending 7 million to Nottingham for Ben Brereton.

I miss going in the Darwen End, the historical home fans end.

I genuinely don't understand what people want the club to do.

Our club does more than most in terms of matchday experience, multi-faith rooms, family stand, cheap ticket prices, blues bar, Fan Zone outside, free fruit bags for the kids... What more could they be doing?

What about not kicking us out of the Darren End?

    very good victory by England.

England will miss Bayliss as coach and by the sounds the players will aswell.

I think Bayliss last interview was excellent and show he has been great for our game.

I'm very interested to see how replace Bayliss now.

Also Botham and Gower have just finished Commentating for the last time for Sky. End of era. Botham is fantastic as commentator

Well if correct that the BBC will have an increased share of coverage you can expect a far greater amount of female commentators. You just watch.

I think it’s unfair to say Tosin was lazy, I thought he played really well but like Kasey Palmer has a somewhat languid style, gets around effortlessly; the antithesis of a Dunn who looked to be busting a gut but in reality the end result isn’t any different.

He never seemed in any danger but as a result has you on edge in case he over plays it, can’t remember him doing anything that put us in danger though

Fully agree and his passing was excellent.

4 clean sheets out of 5, ten points from the last five games, and Dack scores in back to back games. That’s excellent when you consider we’ve had tough fixtures and we haven’t hit top form yet.

Promising signs. Having a solid defence makes such a difference, it gives us a chance to win games even when we’re not playing that well.

    Can’t argue with this.

Benno had a good game and the backing he received from the Riverside near the end showed that opinions posted on here may not actually be factual. Johnson was a rock, all over the place and the end to end midfielder we have needed for a while. My MOTM was a choice between the two.

Special mention to the Wall fans who all applauded to a person the tribute to Fergie when most of them had probably never heard of him.

Bang on regarding forfeiting of the cup, particularly bugs me when teams do everything to get into Europe and then forfeit their chance. Burnley did it last season but its a potentially once in a lifetime chance. Wolves taking it much more seriously.

They went out in the qualifying rounds and didn't reach the Europa Cup proper. Their "European Campaign" lasted 35 days I think.
