    Just thought I'd bring it to your attention that you've put number 4 on your list of possibilities on the wrong list.

  3. When I first loaded my homepage today, which is set to soccernet.com,

    I saw the headline "Souness Takes Over Toon", I started laughing hysterically, then I had a moment to remember that he's leaving Rovers.

    Then I started thinking, who will replace GS?

    Then I thought, with the time off between matches, why didn't he leave last week after the Manure match? Give us more time to find an able replacement. Now we only have a week, unless JW has been looking all the while and just waiting for the axe to fall on Souness.

    I am happy that Souness brought us out of the First division and that he won a trophy with us (Worthington), but even someone like me who doesn't know football (right LeChuck wink.gif ) could see that his time at Ewood was up.

    I also want to wish him the best of luck at Newcastle, but not too much luck. tongue.gif

    Now, I would love to know who has applied for the position.

    Strachan- Forget Scotland! Sign on with Rovers! thumbs-up.gif

  4. Got to echo whats been made on here that this will leave us short upfront, even though Yorke wasnt a great striker he was a experienced body we could put on the field if needed, unless we have something up our sleeve before midnight, maybe Sutton coming this way as part of deal.

    That would be nice but I thought O'Neill wanted to strengthen his strike force, not weaken it?

    I know, queue the Dwight Yorke jokes.... laugh.gif

    Even though it would be nice to see the back of Yorke, I thought our biggest need was adding a striker? Has Jansen now come back into the equation?

    Oh dear, confusing days indeed. sad.gif

  5. A few points from the 'debacle' today

    1) Quite rightly agree with the majority that 3 minutes was enough injury time. The formula for subs of 30 seconds x 5 would be correct if their were 5 subs made after the second half whistle blew. Saha came on before the second half whistle was sounded to kickoff.

    2) Friedel played outstanding and I am already sick to the teeth of hearing how we were lucky to get a point. Goalkeeping is still part of the game even if they outshot us 16 -7 or whatever the wide margin was.

    3)Hard to blame Brad for anything today, but I have ask a question, and it's genuine so try not to have a go at me for it, but, when the hand ball occurred, Brads first intuition was to raise his arm claiming hand ball. And at that time, maybe a millisecond later, he isn't ready for the equalizer from Smith. Does Brad receive partial blame? Part of the answer of course is that the hand ball or even the goal does not occur if the right injury time was posted.

    4) Souness deserves a bit of credit today. Hats off to Ferguson for keeping his cool.

    5) On the fence regarding MGP. He looked very nervous in the first half understandably, but in the second half, apart from the blunder he made with the ball well over the bar, he looked a bit more comfortable. I think he'll be fine once he adjusts to the English game.

  6. Shocking display by D'Urso. How that was a penalty is comical.

    Emerton looked lost until Flitcroft came off

    Was Flitcroft started to show his stuff to possible buyers today?

    Good display by Ferguson and Dickov.

    Should of had at least one point today.

    Having said that, we always seem to give the Arse problems, and this mid week match shouldn't be any different.

    And oh yeah, my vote goes to GreggyK as the number one Rovers fan! laugh.gif

  7. For all IE browser users, I suggest you give Avant Browser a try. I've been with this nifty piece of software since the early days of its development and it really is the dog's dangly bits.

    Its features are too numerous to list here, but include:-

    * flash animation & pop-up stoppers

    * tabbed windows (only one entry on your Windows task bar)

    * auto-page refresh

    * built-in Googleand Yahoo search engines

    * multi-page auto-load when you start the software

    * user-definable url shortcuts

    * full IE configuration compatibility

    Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

    Well Pabby, I gave Avant a try

    But unless I am not edumacated in using it, I have to say I still like Mozilla Firefox better.

    The whole tabbing thing seems more convenient in Firefox then in Avant.

    But thanks for the link. Always good to try new things thumbs-up.gif

  8. You're the one saying 'Some would say if you don't try and defend for 87 mins etc' . Clearly we know that and there is no need for that but if it is not patently obvious that a few people will be somewhat touchy and a little bit peed off then i don't know what is.

    Quite frankly i'm gutted and some of the nonsense being spouted is to me tantamount to going on another teams messagboard after a defeat and gloating. You ain't going to get a good debate a couple of hours after the match cos it still bloody well hurts.

    Apologies Manchester Blue.

    I wasn't having a go. It wasn't my intention.

  9. Some would say that if you don't try and defend for 87 minutes, then the outcome isn't decided by a Swiss referee.

    Some would be talking out of their arses then.

    Is that really possible?

    You tell me you seem to have perfected it.

    Come on now,no need for that.

  10. Some would say that if you don't try and defend for 87 minutes, then the outcome isn't decided by a Swiss referee.

    Some would be talking out of their arses then.

    Is that really possible?

    WELL THE REF PUT HIS WHISTLE THERE AND FOLLLOWED THRU

    LOL - Good one Abbey! biggrin.gif

  11. I was quite disappointed in the TV coverage not showing if a goal was scored moments before Portugal came downfield and scored without a doubt. It looked in, but that's here nor there now.

    I was waiting for that replay aswell. I think the Portuguese tv editor forgot to show the replay after celebrating the goal.

    Yeah 78.

    I think we pick up your coverage as the commentator is Martin Tyler I think, but don't actually see which broadcaster is carrying it.
