  14. Enjoy! Now that's football - the current Barca team are the only side I've seen come close since. I'd forgotten how good the goals were they scored, and can't believe I'd forgotten players like Eder - goal number two is an outrageous chip. Magnificent stuff.
  15. Only heard today about his death at the weekend. Fantastic player, oozed class and was the heartbeat of the greatest team never to win the World Cup, the Brazil side of 1982. Scored some fantastic goals linking up with another great of the era, Zico. Cracking beard and headband combo in his latter days as an international too! RIP, a true legend. http://globalspin.blogs.time.com/2011/12/05/so-long-socrates-the-da-vinci-of-brazilian-soccer/

  17. Watched 'Crazy Heart' last night - very good. A tremendous performance from Jeff Bridges although for me his high point remains The Big Lebowski ....
  18. Stunned when I heard; very very sad news. The consummate model professional and the antithesis of some of the modern day primadonnas in the game. RIP.
  19. Went to El Rincon de Rafa in Manchester a couple of weeks ago. A little piece of Spain just off Deansgate. Owned by a chap who used to play for Stockport though can't say I've ever heard of him. Football's loss is definitely food's gain - cracking stuff.
  20. Between the boy and 'girl'? On the face of it, it's almost a sweet, coming of age friendship/relationship. When you consider that the 'girl' is obviously way more than 12 (and therefore much more worldly-wise than she appears), and that being a vampire she needs (to ensnare?) someone to provide fresh blood for her, the relationship and her motives become something a bit more unsettling. It hints that she's already done something similar at least once with the 'father' figure.
