  1. Because we've lost two points against United and one against Southampton on referee mistakes alone.

We lost points versus Southampton because we werent good enough to hold on to a lead. Ditto Man United. Fair enough, the referee's made some bad decisions, but it certainly wasnt solely down to them.

Bad officiating can only be blamed so many times, things can only happen so many times until you have to start looking slightly deeper for the cause. We bring these things on ourselves by leaving the door open for teams. How they get through that door is incidental.

T4E, I strongly disagree, we defended for our lives on Saturday only to lose two points to incompetence on the officials part. Manure could say they desrved something from the game, however we could also say that we deserved three points bvecause we defended resolutely adnstopped them scoring a legitimate goal. That followed a refereeing perfomance against Southampton that will go down in history, and again we were the victims.

I know it seems like we are looking to blame everithing on the referees, but in those two games dodgy decisions DID cost us points, and that cannot be argued!

  2. To all the doom mongers (you really make me laugh!).

Face it, we lost 3- 0 to what is arguably the best Premiership side ever. I remember heavier Premiership defeats under the great Dalglish to lesser teams. (I'm sure the stattos can corroborate this)

Let's get it into perspective, I mean it could have been worse, we could have lost 3 - 0 to Charlton!

  3. This has gotten way too old.  We had one bad season in 4.  Injuries to our best players, two "star" players who could not be arsed to show up most games.  Souness brought through Gally, Douglas and Bought Stead, though the detractors say that was pure fortune.  Conveniently forgetting that Souness had him watched for a year and that he was the only top flight manager with the Gonads big enough to go for it.

Give this bloke a good run with his regulars, a fully fit squad, if he's not getting it done can him and replace him with ???? Oh perhaps Sturrock will be available by then.  Ternent is out of work.  Give the Souness a bloody chance to put it right.

He got us back in the Prem and we are still in the Prem.

Sorry prawn sandwich brigade wannabe's it IS good enough for me.  Now let's move on.

    Hilarious laugh.gifbiggrin.giflaugh.gif

We underperform in the FIRST 45 minutes of a new season, and the doom mongers are out in force laugh.giflaugh.gif

For all the negative heads out there, just read the above post from USA Blue every time you get one of those overwhelming floods of anti - Sounessism.

    BTW top post USA.

  4. Wonderful, wonderful post 1864!

Cole had some good times at Rovers, but in my opinion overall he was disappointing.

Last season's goal return from Cole was quite frankly embarrasing, so much so that I can't even remember how many he scored - 9 or 11? - still rubbish.

In fact I'm confident that at least two of our strikers will outscore the

foremost hands on hipster (thanks Bryan).

  5. What this message board has is true variety!

As much as I enjoy reading intelligent, well informed contributions from the likes of Philip L and Paul etc., I also enjoy the equally intelligent humourous posts from the likes of Bob Fleming and Nuclearsox etc.

In my opinion the mods do a good job in stamping down on text speak, shouting, copyright infringement etc.

It most certainly ain't broke wink.gif

  6. Hot Fuss by The Killers - Tremendous first album! cool.gif

Hmmm...there's about three good songs on there but there's a lot of filler tracks.

It's a shame because Somebody Told Me is a superb song, the rest don't have the same tempo though so I was very disappointed with it.

Actually 'Somebody Told Me' is my least favourite track on the album.

    Opinions eh? rolleyes.gifwink.gif

  7. Yes our gary has been a liability over recent years hasn't he ?

I mean a player of such ilk scores winners against the then champions to win the game, he fights for every ball, he may not be classy but he works damned hard and puts his head in where the boots are.

yes our Gary is a liability tinykit.gifmad.gif

    pure @#/? comments again tinykit.gif

8yrs at the club no less, so he has loyalty, let the fans give him a vote of thanks rather than disrespect him.

    tinykit.gif

    Seconded

    Liability my ar*e!

    More like an inspiration!!

  8. Utterly utterly fantastic without a bad track on it.

    Agree!

Definitely his best since Vauxhall & I.

As for the Pixies, I saw them on the same tour at the G-Mex, and have been talking about that gig ever since. Got my tickets for Move and I'm counting down the hours!

  9. The more mainstream music on my stereo at the moment are keane and O by Damien Rice which is a fantastic album.

If you like Damien Rice, try Music In Mouth by Bell X1, the band Rice left!

    Very good album wink.gif

  10. About the age/past his best argument:-

De Pedro will be 31 in August - We got him for free

Ryan Giggs will be 31 in November - How much would he have cost? blink.gif

Robert (Johnny Foreigner) Pires will be 31 in October - Was he available on a free?? ph34r.gif

Whether or not De Pedro turns it on in the Premier League remains to be seen. What cannot be argued is that this is an outstanding bit of business by GS/JW. Effectively it's a no lose situation, as he WILL be better than Douglas/Thompson/Reid playing in that positon tongue.gif

  11. We need to stop having this huge pressure by claiming that he NEEDS to come in and perform from day 1.

What a load of old tosh.

All eleven players whoever they are, in whatever position, NEED to come in and perform from day 1 next season. There's no room for any passengers at this level unfortunately.

Sorry Rev mate but your stance on this beggars belief.

As 78 quite rightly points out, some of the best talents in the Premiership took at least a season to adapt.

I would happily settle for buying a player who turns out to be top class after acclaimatising to the EPL, rather than some plodder like Damien Johnson. wink.gif

  12. The Stooges - 1st album

    Blimey Drummer,

Never thought I'd meet another Stooges fan.

"Out of my brain on a Saturday night...."

    Rovers lost again

Now I always preferred Laurel And Hardy!
