It's so sad to see.
I think it's shocking management all round.
A perspective - Smallwood off the wage bill 12 months ago (instead of, IMO, Mowbray's sentimentality) would have more than funded a new pitch!
Scandalous.
Yeah but that wouldn't have been fair on the poor lad. Have a heart, Mercer.

Smart signing from WBA.
They'll be favourites for relegation next year. Already preparing for Championship football.

Anyway first day back to work after furloughed, Mr Waggot has just rung me, to get back in, season tickets need sorting. If you were a realist, you wouldn't be constantly trying to put a spin on everything.
If you were a realist, you'd forgive the fans' cynicism after the last decade.
Venky's took away our top-flight status, turned the club into a national joke, alienated a large section of support, relegated us to the third-tier for the first time in 37 years, still haven't put a proper boardroom structure in place, and you expect us to be grateful because a couple of clubs have it worse?

It's obvious we were done up like a kipper when we signed Ben, and once again someone's made a tasty commission out of it at Rovers' expense.

He won't make it here.
Will eventually get loaned out and we'll cut our losses.
Loved to be proven wrong.

He was, now Fulham have done a deal to get him permanently.
Amazing that a newly promoted Premier League side see enough to splash the cash on him yet he wasn't good enough for our midfield.
Fulham benefited from him learning the game from Smallwood and Evans. ?

You have literally cut out the rebuttals and answers to your questions to post those quotes.
You know chaddy's coping mechanism. There's no use trying to reason with him.

Obviously he's talking about backup for WBA.

I think Rothwell is better deeper and driving.
That's what she said.

I've got a couple of the Kappa ones. They've seen better days but good for PJs ?
Last shirt I bought was the sponsorless 2011–12 one. A season to forget but our best umbro shirt.

I'm not convinced Brereton will ever come good here but if he does, it has to be in a front-two.

Why give Bell that contract ... another pitfall contract extension from our manager.... he’s not going to improve .. even as a back up he’s not reliable....
Forgot Bell got a new deal. What a joke.

The loyalty was the 2 year extension on a good wage, which he didn't warrant. Where was Mulgrew's loyalty when he ran his contract down at Aberdeen to sign for Celtic on a free. There wasn't any because by signing for Celtic he progressed his career and it is the same now for Rovers for us to progress we need to move on from Charlie Mulgrew.
Exactly.
It's suddenly about "loyalty" when you find yourself on the receiving end.

He looks well does Brett. I was sat in the Riverside for his debut against Wolves. I thought we'd signed Jairzinho
Are we sure that wasn't his twin?

Just think for the first time in a while, and in difficult times, we are actually trying to address the defence, and paying fees, which JH has always said Venkys won’t do.
Has he said that? I don't want to speak for him but I thought the point was Venky's have never invested much in defenders.
We've thrown millions away on strikers in the last decade but spent very little on defenders. Dann was probably the last one to command a decent fee, and even that was lower than reported.
No offence but your posts read like a spokesman from the club's PR team.

It says he can play both.
Not his favoured position. Then again, that's par for the course here.
Unless Nyambe's days are numbered, I'm not sure why we'd bring in Sessegnon.

Sessegnon's a right-back, isn't he?
I know he's filled in at left before but that's not his natural position.

Where there's money, there's corruption.
I don't know how people could think football is any different.

Yeah he did but it was Coyle who signed him so he played, albeit with a few injuried scattered amongst it, in the relegation season. Not always at centre back either.
Not that your point is any less valid and ultimately it is our own fault that we are now lumbered with him.
In my defence, I've tried to blot Coyle's season out of my mind.

He wasnt untested as he played a season in this division for us and got both winners v Newcastle. That being said, its more his age that made it a stupid decision. We gave loads of needless contracts out after promotion.
I thought he got the new deal on the back of the L1 promotion? Oh well.

We’ve done some good deadwood clearing so far and offloading Williams for a fee would be a great bit of business. I can’t see Mulgrew giving up his hefty wage, so I think we will be lumbered with him.
Whose bright idea was it to give Mulgrew a 2½ year deal in the first place, seeing as he was untested at Championship level?

I know they don't grow on trees but didn't Mowbray want a ball-playing centre half to complement Lenihan?
From the sounds of it, Lindsay is more of a blood-and-thunder type like Lenihan. Not afraid to get stuck in but prone to lapses in concentration.
