Shelfy Shaw was part of that portmanteau.
He was very, very generous with the HobNobs and custard creams, though, lest we forget...

PrestonBlue is Mike Graham on here now (We Are the Rovers chairman).
Wow! Thanks for letting me know. I'm sure he'll remember me. Mike, if you're reading, get that banner out and make good use of it!!

Excellent.
Thanks everyone, I'll need some help deciphering some of this legalese finance garble.
I'm only a humble engineer.
I'd like to applaud your superb efforts, sir.
Fantastic to see people willing to stand up and do something!
I'm in Ireland so a bit limited in terms of getting to as many games as I'd like, but I like to think I did what I could back when the writing was on the wall in 2011/12. I vividly remember getting 500 KEAN OUT A4 pages printed in Reads Stationary Shop in Dublin the day before the Arsenal game where we won 4-2, getting looked at like I had two heads by the guy who was printing them out for me. RAOS OUT and ANDERSON OUT posters made and a DESAI OUT banner printed for the Wigan relegation night, which I gave to PrestonBlue (anyone know where he is these days?) outside the ground.
Crazy to think that here we all are 12 years later, but it does feel like we could be on the precipice of liberation here....
Keep going! Sock it to the bastards!

Venky's have caused me much more harm, from what I can tell, than years of smoking.

Less than 24 hours until the game now and we're still none the wiser thanks to these utter bumbling, incompetent, lying set of scumbag chancers.

Or in the case of Reg of the Rovers just a total idiot.
Read a few of his posts but bad for my heart!. He seems to think he's clever as well which really gets me going!
Keep away from that site, its a health hazard.
I thought it was just me!
A right pompous ass, extremely sanctimonious.
And then there's that fool John Claret or one of his million aliases...

I'm curious as to where exactly the tide is turning? Any links would be much appreciated.

One of the things for me is the Adam Wharton sale and not because I’m entitled and didn’t expect him to be sold eventually but the symbolic nature of the whole situation.
I don’t and can’t support the thieves and gangsters in India and our boardroom like the fans who have walked away.
Still it’s my club , my team , my colours, my badge , my fans and my players so I go and get behind the lads (ffs)
Wharton was one of our own like a lot of the kids who came through the academy jack set up , and for this very reason . Now though Travis and Buckley get shipped to reduce wages and whartons gone and who am I supporting . Brighton and liverpools kids til the end of the season. Five loans in that’s half a team who won’t be here next year I have no affinity to .
It’s hard to get emotionally involved when you’re being ripped off and over priced, not given a second thought and constantly lied to. The farce of the transfer window (again) highlighting the lies/cock ups/ disjointed thinking of the whole set up and scattergun approach to it ,plus, the sale of our Adam shows there is no model or anything to have hope for or belief in to keep throwing your support behind.
Still I’ve been going on ewood for 30 years and I’ve met a lot of wonderful people. Can still have a beer and a social occasion and try and get involved in the on field “entertainment “. They can’t take that away from me….can they.
First sip of a pint and I mention the banner , you should be punched was the response from friends. I sit on the coach to away games and listen to 40 people slag off the venky out chants with the same usual guff and waffle repeated on here. Try and explain anything and I’m shot down by 30 people so I sit angry and disillusioned to Norwich or wherever on some other hellish journey .
So as a staunch defender of JDT I believe I look at him as a symbol of hope and a memory of what once was. I probably have blue n white tinted glasses to his tactics and how he sets up a team as just his enthusiasm and passion reminds me of what mine once was .
Now he wants out like lambert before him. We’re heading back to league one , I’m skint with a young family and I’m sat by myself over hundred quid light on the way back from Cardiff , work in the morning, usually by myself these days, surrounded by Venky sleeved shirts with names of players at other clubs on there back after watching Liverpool and Brighton’s future stars make there mistakes with the uttering and echos up and down the coach of I don’t know what they want ,20 million them angels pump in.
Ewood is a hallow shell filled with these Shaun of the dead zombies , gangsters crooks and criminals in the boxes around them, prices increasing why my kid kicks a ball into a bin for a charge .
it’s all getting to much for people . Even I’m getting to the point of having the rest of the season off just to re evaluate my life
Amazing, heartfelt post. These people have stolen so much from so many, and 90 minutes on a Saturday is only the half of it.

Absolutely agree. All of India needs to know what a disgrace the Rao family are.

Their statements to the fans have been very sporadic over the years.
If they were setting us free I strongly doubt they'd even bother making a statement... unless it was some sort of face-saving effort.

It's the hope that kills.
Please, please, please let me get what I want and have these parasites finally detach, one way or the other.

How do you see Venkys being put in a position to sell Eddie?
They have had numerous opportunities to open talks, speak to potential buyers and refused mostly to engaged, its now been around 14yrs, how long should we wait?
Everything about the club is second rate, budgets cut to the bone and that will continue until these lot sod off. If the only way we can get rid of them is through administration, I'd take that now and everything that comes with it because I have a feeling we'll end up there under these owners anyway, only with much more debt.
I don't believe that is a delusional position to take, especially when you look at other clubs that have been through similar circumstances over the past 10yrs and come out of the other side.
We are Blackburn Rovers, we have an illustrious history, large fanbase and had a fine reputation until recently, this club will not go to the wall.
Great post. My thoughts exactly.
We are headed for oblivion with Venky's, and always have been.
Fear of the unknown is a normal feeling, but - one way or the other - this situation just can't go on.

Administration.
We have to get rid of them by whatever means. A desire for anything else is, at this stage, a combination of Stockholm Syndrome and wishful thinking.

Superb shirts. I will be proud to own and wear one.
Well done Eddie for your initiative. It feels like something is growing within the supporter base again after a long time.
Hopefully we'll see the back of these b**tards before too long, whatever the cost.

Hardly a blood and thunder first half hour to impress the new manager...
At least the audio is tip-top notch

Broughton says he believes Mowbray 'over-achieved for years.' That doesn't fill me with confidence.
There also seems to be a distinctive unwillingness to bluntly state what the ambition is. A lot of vagueness. How hard is it to say, "We will fight for promotion"?
-
I'd go for Warnock too.
- 2
-
On the upside, why not put a cheeky little tenner on us to get relegated next season with Mowbray in charge?
It represents, IMO, excellent value for money and I for one will be uncorking a nice 2007 Chateaux d'Yquem this evening at the prospect of Alex Neill leading us to promotion from League One in the 2023/24 season!!

So greatly disappointed tonight. Ever since the fabled 'run' I've been dreaming of promotion followed by a sale of the club. Doing so well on the pitch for that spell papered over a lot of gaping cracks though, that's for sure. Regardless of the whispers from those who have previously gushed over the positive vibes they had during tea and biccie chats with Derek Shaw, the club remains a husk and there is little to be positive about looking to the future under this ownership.

The January window was crucial. Why the owners didn't decide to turn on the spending taps then only they know
Yes, like practically all their other decisions, it defies logic

We just don't have enough creativity coming through the middle. Realistically three to four quality players were needed to give this team a jolt.
Tonight we've been second to every 50-50. The players look shot and out of ideas.

Bloody magnificent performance. Phenomenal commitment and guts.
I'm starting to believe.

Does anyone know if you can watch the game later - as if live - on Rovers TV?
Thanks

Happy birthday! I turned 40 last week. Depressing that all of my 30s, and your 40s, were swallowed up by the Rao scum.
