I think it was Barnsley John and 4-0 rings a bell.

Nonsense I know but good memories!!

Am listening to Tony Blackburn's Sat Morning 60s show on BBC Sounds catch up. Guest presenter this morn was Petula Clark
She's just played Wandering Star, Lee Marvin.
Who remembers singing it at Ewood?! 'I was born in The Blackburn End'.
Remember the verse,
'Knives are made for stabbing, guns are made to shoot
If you come in The Blackburn End we'll all stick in the boot'.

The Trafford, Sale Altrincham Tram line is very popular but property gets pricier as you go towards Alty.

108 was numerically the first of the 12 Leyland PD1As delivered in 1948 and was withdrawn from service in 1970.
Hiding behind the X66 bus stop is the roof of a Ribble Marshall bodied Leopard which means the picture cannot be any earlier than 1963. The road signage also dates it in the '60s.
Good knowledge!

Liked Fauda. Just finished it.

If it wasn't for Mrs Shoelaces I wouldn't watch much TV either. We have a radio in every room, all tuned to Radio 4. That's our source of entertainment for most of the time. If I leave my wife at home for a full day every radio will be on, along with every light, and every door will be open. When I retired I made it a rule not to put the TV on until the 6 o'clock news.
You made it a rule? Not very PC!

Well done Phillipl.
Disagree with most of your posts but that's politics and you certainly have passion for your beliefs and The Rovers, Good luck for that!
Happy and prosperous New Year to you and all on BRFCS.
And thanks to the mods for keeping the site going!

Happy New Year all. 🍾

Mmmm. Any reason stated?

DR, I was there. Got there late and they put us behind the goal.
A flyer was handed out at the next home game with the song lyrics (I've still got the flyer somewhere)
Sung to the Tune of 'The Floral Dance' (I kid you not)
'I thought I heard the curious tone
of the Burnley fans as they start to moan.
Hard to smile when you're three goals down
Rovers giving you the run around.
Sometimes It's hard to win away
but not at Burnley on a Boxing Day.
Merry Xmas All

72. No age.

Remarkably he meant it!

Mowbray really has to deliver. Nothing against him personally but he's had long enough.

Well obviously!
But considering there will be no gate or hospitality receipts, but still a hefty staging cost it makes zero sense to still play them there... but then they would have to come to an agreement with another ridiculous organisation in the FA.
Obviously.

Prob cos they are legally contracted to play there.

Used to drive past there to games from the Dressers . Was it the Hordon Rake? And what was the massive pub further on on the left. Think now a supermarket.

Cheers. It was the 1973 game I was thinking of. 5-0 v Watford Tony Field scored twice and I think one was after beating a few men! Furphy's last league game in charge I think.
