  1. I agree with Gav, the definition and the video are pretty conclusive.

So he's got away with it. Hopefully he won't so so stupid to be out drinking after games again.

If the ECB has any sense they'll give him a small fine, and tell him he has to complete a couple of hundred hours working / coaching with kids.

I think the disappointing thing about the latter end of this transfer window for me is seeing the likes of Ipswich Town and Wigan Athletic making tidy squad depth enhancing signings.

Some really good players have been signed.

I know it's not really Mowbray's job to settle fans nerves. But a couple of carefully chosen loans with a view to sign permanently could really do a lot for fan confidence over the next week!

Also might be worth taking a look at the Free Agents available. Jack Rodwell, Robert Huth, Jan Kirchhoff, Kazenga LuaLua, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas and are all without a club. Maybe worth a trial and short term deal to offer a longer one?
    Thoughts?

Kirchoff may be worth a look, he's the strong defensive sitter. Can also play centre half if needed.

Not mobile, not going to get forward (bar set pieces), but tall, experienced and strong. Only 27 too.

‘The clubs loaning players out want big fees - it’s an extremely inflated market. We’ll go again in January and see if we can’t find some players that want to play for Blackburn Rovers.’

    Theres my September 1st prediction.

If that happens and an injury to Danny Graham, then we'll be in the relegation zone at Christmas, that's my prediction.

Just need to go and get a player in quickly.

This is off a supporters group twitter from yesterday’s members forum meeting:

“A member asked Chapple at previous forum whether there was a batting coach at which he allegedly responded there isn't a specific one. Same member at ydays forum asked Allott why there is no specific batting coach.

An agitated Allott said - I'm sure Chapple didn't say that. Yes he did member replied. Well we have specialist coaches in all areas. Players are different, some need guidance some think they don't. It doesn't look like any of the batsmen are getting coached, she replied! Allott, looking increasingly angry, hit back - Look, I'll tell you what, we'll just sack all the coaches shall we. That make you happy?

Our reporter piped up, "be sensible lad", and he was shot a glare of pure evil from Mr Allott.

Allott's whole attitude during meeting was one of condescension. For instance just asking for an update on injuries had him sarcastically saying oh and so and so banged his elbow yday, do you want a rundown on everyone? (Thank God the meeting took place before last night!)”

All sounds about right for rovers, sorry Lancashire. Force of habit.

It feels like it's jobs for the boys at Lancs at the moment. Chapple, Chilton. I don't get the feeling they have any real desire, and losing is acceptable.

Considering they where boasting about being one of the most secure clubs financially, where are they investing that into the team?

  5. Unless Saints have someone lined up, I'm surprised they'd let Gally go on loan. It leaves them with Austin, Long and Gabbiadini. Austin is perennially unfit, Gabbiadini and Long far from prolific.

If Gally is going to make it, you'd think they'd be keeping him. Hughesy is a good judge of a forward (Bellamy, Benni Mc, Santa Cruz).

Personally I like the lad, think he's got good potential, but he's getting to the age where he should be the top centre forward, leading the line somewhere.

Think the key is, as people have suggested, is to bring in a striker capable of playing with his back to play. We have some exciting players, Dack, Palmer, Armstrong, they all are players who run on to play, theyve all got goals in them, they all can get in behind, to do that, the striker needs to vacate the space and link it up, Graham is the master of that.

Think we will struggle to get someone as effective, as intelligent and as good at what he does as Danny Graham. We need someone to ease the burden on him, as his fitness, with age, will not allow him to play 90 minutes of 46 games. Obviously its a shame, as not only does he have all of the skillset that I have listed above, he also had an almost telepathic link with Dack. See the 3rd goal v Peterborough, the 3rd v Wimbledon, the goal v Fleetwood etc. Same with Armstrong, both goals v MK Dons are perfect examples.

Sam Gallagher is not that man. I feel like hes a lazy suggestion based on the fact that hes been here before. He is incapable of playing with his back to goal, and Mowbray seemed to realise that, hence him playing wide of Graham when he was here before, running on to play. Hes decent at a few things, hes quite quick, he can head the ball if he gets a run on his man and isnt challenged for it, but hes never a target man in a million years.

Gallagher is better than you say in my opinion. At the very least his physique means he should be capable of holding up play, maybe somebody like an old tough cetre-half might be able to guide him on. Mowbray has worked with him before, so if he goes back, he obviously sees something in him. With his height, he's a different option as a last 20 minutes sub too.

We also need to be realistic, we are a newly promoted club, with little cash. We aren't in the same market as others in this league as an attraction. He knows the club, knows most of the players, and I believe left on good terms.

I think the lad is a good player and he's an excellent finisher but like every player he has his flaws. He's one of the best young strikers out there but he not the sort who " leads the line ". He plays best off the shoulder of a player like Graham who can play him in. I don't think he's a winger , certainly at the higher level we find our selves at now.

Are we going to play two up front ? Putting him out wide on one wing and Palmer on another looks ok on paper but may not work out so well on grass.

I agree, away from home, he's going to struggle. Too small too play up top on his own, he will inevitably be pushed to the wings with Dack playing behind a strong centre forward, and I'm not sure he's defensively good enough to cover his full back.

Hope we aren't putting a lot of money into the deal.

Personally think we need someone who has the strength to play up top centrally.

  8. Brilliant game at OT, Lancs batted superbly and to be honest most people around me in the ground thought York's wouldn't get near that score. Begrudging credit though, we bowled poorly and they took full advantage. They where out of it with even 2 overs left, but kept at it, and to come down to the last ball was both nerve-wracking and brilliant to win.

  9. It's a no from me.

Wrong halves, wrong colours, socks don't match, logo wrong colour.

    1/10

I don't know about a fans poll of mock-ups provided by the supplier, why not a fans poll from mock-ups provided by the fans. I've seen some fantastic stuff done by fans on-line in the past.
