The “offside” goal too! What an awful decision that was, thank goodness it didn’t cost us in the long run!

That has to be one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. We were on the Riverside and we all went 'but Newell was behind him when the ball was played'

Considering the importance of the game, our previous playoff traumas, and going two down so early, this is, in my view, the best Rovers (pound for pound) performance I've seen.

I wasn't lucky enough to see the 5-2 Plymouth game which I guess is the nearest comparison.

I worked with quite a few Derby fans at the time and they were very fair about this game. One of them memorably said "that was the luckiest 4-2 defeat we've ever had. You absolutely battered us!"
