Domestically I can think of Graeme Le Saux, Niall Quinn, Casey Keller, Tony Adams (no seriously), Gavin Peacock, Steve McManaman, Iain Dowie...
Any others?
Lampard, Ripley

2.5m!
We let him go way to cheap. Was it a realease clause or something. Would expect at least 5M for a player of this calibre.

Dont know how true this one is but...
The Irish team on a plane to ? and Keane and JM start having a war of words. Keane says to JM "lets take this outside then". JM trys to open the plane door in mid flight.

You mean in the recent U21. Not sure. Might have been. I remember watching it though and laughing my self silly.

Id take Martins, Owen, Parker, Emre milner, but thats it duff is finished at that level ( a mixture of ego, the chelsea effect and injury's ), id take the whole of rovers rovers back 5, reid, bentley maybe mgp and benni over anything they have got
Id take Taylor off there hands. He looks a great defender for his age and I dont know why they dont start with him.

I must admit that I want Rovers to play Burnley before I'm finished at Uni summer 08, would be great to experience a match against our arch rivals!! although preferably in the cup, cos we don't want them to be a premiership team do we
I would love them in the Prem, be great watching them beat Sunderlands record for the least points!

Can someone tell me how Rovers are promoting this in Blackburn. Its a great idea and gesture but will only work to its full potential if the general Blackburn public know about it. Please tell me its more than just a quater page near the back of the LET.

We are staying there too.
Just been looking on the website where I will be stayin and its not to far from the stadium, hope that can only be a good thing.
Its called Maritime Hotel, just on the other side of the river

Its about an hour, stopping at Den Haag and Schipol on the way. We used it during preseason.
It depends what type of train you get. The slow ones yeah about an hour but the fast ones 15mins. I stayed there for about a month a couple of years ago.

If anyone is looking for a good HOSTEL in Amsterdam I would recommend the flying pig downtown. Not the cleanest hostel place but has a great atmosphere and a nice smoking corner.
"read on the official site that it's a one hour train journey from Amsterdam to Rotterdam.
Is that right?"
Its no more than 15 mins.

If people are looking for a good hostel to stay in in Amsterdam look up the flying pick. Not the cleanest place in the world but has a great atmosphere and a smoking corner.

I even know SEASON TICKET holders who arent going because they 'cant be bothered' and 'would rather watch in the pub'.....
Its not always that simple. I have a season ticket and cant go due to work. I went to the away game but it is impossible for me to go tonight. Even tried to get the time off work but cant. Now thats not the case for most people granted. I really do hope we beat the 15K mark but I dont think we will.

How about we have a diving board & score cards in the BBE, everytime someone performs a bit of "Simulation" we get the board out and hold up our score cards?
Brilliant! Think thats a great idea.
I would definatly sign a petition to get rid of the drums.

Well looks like hes staying,

With the use of video evidence we should.
The FIFA frequently claims that it wants racism to be put out of the game so cleary, if it is proved that Materrazi used a racist insult, the Italian player has to be punished.
Not really sure why you have a problem with that?
Agreed. And to the point of the comment being racist being denied made by Eddie. An investigation does not assume guilt. If it is found to be a none raceist jibe just "your s*** and we are going to thrash you" (yeah ok its going to be worst than that but to make the point) then he should not be punished. But if it is a racist comment he should recieve a ban.

I think more fans would go to Australia aswell. I know i would...but there's no chance im going to South Africa
Definatly. I would go across for sure. What a great excuse to go back Ozz. I do wonder were the games would be played though. Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Brisvagus but then..... 95% of international sport is in Melbourne and I can see the ozzies wanting to hold about 50% of the whole tornument at the MCG. Not sure how it would work on short notice.

The insult should be investigated and clamped down on but it cant excuse ZZ's actions. He acted a lot worst and thats what should be focused upon. As it happens no-one is focusing disciplinary action against him as any fine FIFA give ZZ would be nothing to him and there seems no point in banning him, they could punish France as a team but thats not going to happen. Having said that they should give him a fine AND a ban and both should be worst than anything MM gets given to make that point that violence is the worse of the two offences.

I think Roberts is a good signing for us! He will do well, as people have already stated MGP's crosses will be an even bigger plus next season now. I also think Gally will be above Jeffers in the pecking order. Gally performed well last season and looked good to me when he came on for us at the end of the season. I think Jeffers has more to prove and thats reflected in the type of contract he signed. Been a positive day for us though. 1 good player in, 1 potentially good player in and for next to nothing.

Didn't Ashley Cole say recently that is was impossible for the players to enjoy the World Cup due to the insane amount of pressure? The press certainly aren't helping...
I had forgot about this one. Says it all though doesnt it. Its effecting the players and our chances of winning and performing so why dont they lay off a bit.

IF YOU DONT READ THEM HOW DO YOU KNOW WHATS IN THEM?
Well heres one example, unless you class the bbc as the gutter press
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/w...gal/5128468.stm

Sooo...
1st the gutter press force out SGE. Even if you dont like him what the press did was simply wrong.
2nd They put so much pressure on Big Phil that he wont take the job and help put SM in thinking him the best thing since sliced bread.
3rd Wayne Rooney makes the comment along the lines of that in any other country the Press would be happy we are in the quater final but ours are just always negative.
4th They final get a reaction of one of the calmest managers in football SGE, as he finally defends himself against their hounding.
5th Portugal come out and say that qoutes in The Sun are completely fake with regards to Pauleta think Robinson is the weakest link in the team.
---------
They are out of control. Something needs to be done about it. Any ideas anyone, I myself hate the tabloids and never buy them but unfortunatly they will always sell and will always keep printing this crap. Is there anything we can do?
-
Burgson!
How crap is that, only 3 chars of my proper name. Sound more Scandanavian.
<edit> Also remembered all the steadinho/sealiniho stuff. So put in Jon Stead and got JANDO. Hmmmm.
-
Whereas Lennon would skin his man and pass/cross into an empty box judging by Saturday's game.
Very good point. Nothing about the team is set up for wingers. And how could we change it up front. Despite his hight PC is no good in the air and Walcot well if Erricson does use him it wont be cause of his heading ability unless he plays at under 11 levels.

I don't think you can blame the ref at all. I can't think of one yellow that I remember being harsh. It was the players who would rather flatten the opponent instead of playing proper football.
I'm suprised not to see more criticism of the dutch player who didn't return the ball to Portugal and took off towards the goal.
Well said. I was very glad Deco did what he did to get that first booking. If it hadnt been for the rest of the contraversy this would have been a massive talking point. The whole game stank of cheating in every respect. Althought the ref didnt play well he didnt have a terrible game like most of the media and Sep Blatter have suggested. He definatly did make mistakes though Deco's second yellow a big one. I was defending his decsion at the time. I thought he had book the dutch player for putting Deco on the floor and when I realised what he had actually done as was stunned.

The article does acknowledge the cut price tickets and even mentions that first before stating that Wanders believe its their form. I think its both. If they were bottom of the league I dont think our incentive would do much good - nor would they bring as many fans if the were top and we charge £30+.
