  1. I'm starting to really enjoy England winning and then coming on here to read the daft comments.

There were plenty on here who didn't think we'd beat Ecuador, but we have and, other than one individual error by Terry early on, we did so without ever looking in trouble defensively........

Such garbage that you can comment on it - game after game. We all assume Paul, that you'll not be watching England play Portugal on Saturday - the manicured mancunian lawn will need tending to.

The "idiot supporters" will be watching that game in their millions.........

Well said both of you. I think the thing this country has the most to be ashamed of is the negative attitude of both its gutter press and so many "fans" who just want to find all the negatives and whinge.

  2. Personally I hope Carrick and Lampard are in the middle with Gerrard playing off Owen, until Rooney comes back anyway (he reckons he will be back for the 3rd group game)

Think your right there. Another possiblity is SG on the left with JC just off the forward. Would prefer it your way though.

  3. Do the drummers get free tickets from the club?

Get rid. Not needed at the games and the utterly pathetic 'Gerrintterum' chant is an embarrasment to the entire club.

As for the Family Stand - how about next to the BBE in the lower Jack Walker? Good atmosphere - near the most vocal section but allows more fans who would like to sing to get into the BBE.

Glad someone else has said this. I sing a lot in the BBE Upper, my nephew does too. You need kids around people who sing else future generation wont sing and the atmosphere will die even more.

As for the drummer please please oh please get him out.

  4. Although I dont think Mickey O will stick around

    381057[/snapback]

I guess that depends on how much his relegation release clause is biggrin.gif. Anyone else think Sven could take over after the WC. After Owen pesters him persistantly saying he owes him for saying he dont want to be there.

  5. I think he will play the Axe and drop Tugay for this one as we wont be looking for through balls.

    Friedel

    Neill Todd Nelson Gray

    Reid Axe Savage

    Emerton..............MGP

    ............Kuqi

lots of high balls, Emerton, Kuqi and MGP are all good in the air. at least one gambling of 1 of the others winning the header.

    1-1 for me

  6. I would love a player to add the words "in my opionion" and see what the FA did. Then its not stating a fact about the ref but just of the players opionion. I dont think (correct me if you know) it could be classed as slander then and the FA wouldnt have a leg to stand on if someone decided to take it to court, as Sourpuss threatened to do. If the FA are going to charge him surely they have to conduct an investigation to prove that his accustations are false...... would they be able to do that? I wish more players managers would speak out like this, i like Jose M's attitude to it, cant remember exactly what he said after his last fine but it was something along the lines of ill still speak out and say what I want. On the otherside as seen as the FA are taking action on this they should take action on Ferguson for calling Bolton cheats rather than just probing them and us.

  7. Signed up at the site. Everyone makes a point about the health and safty issues. Could this not be solved simply by people in the area signing a disclamier. I am always astounded at the sue culture of the UK, next thing we know people will be bringing cases against McDonalds for making them fat just like in the states. I was reading a book by David Brown recently,"Deception Point", at one point the main character is being chased in a Cathedral in Seville by an assasin. Brown makes the point that a number of tourists have died on the stair case up to the Cupla and says that unlike in States, the Spanish take the view that if you fall down some stairs that have a simple warning on saying its step and be careful then its your own damn fault. Made me chuckle some what. If people of an adult age choose to take a risk, then it is {or should be} their responsibility. So long as this does not effect others who do not want to take this risk then why try and take that choice away.

  8. yes i do think the tactics were correct. not good for the nerves but correct. with owen as our forward we can counter VERY fast. we have a good defense. and any manager who ignores the extreme stress put on our players by our expectations and our press is just ignorant.

edit: ohh and for our negative attitude we seem to have scored a few goals, who scored more than us in the group stages?

jez, we are so negative, so few goals

  9. how you can blame a manager for a teams nervous beveviour, i don't understand. the players are all english and feel the same we all do, so when we scored what would you expect. As soon as we went ahead what happened, we went forward and we scored. I (don't know why) was praying for a goal that allowed us a penatly shoot out (as i thought it was our best chance of winning aftter their goal went inprobally) before our second goal.

But please dont winge, bitch, slag of, or whatever you want to call it, about the team or manager unless you dont think they gave their all. Nobodies perfect, be ###### of, be disappointed, be furious but don't take peoples heads off just yet....

    DAMN

  10. I only expect things to work, whether or not they're free. It's nice they are free, but that shouldn't mean unreliability and/or faulty goods. I mean, you'd be peeved if you thought you had a bargain when you bought a stereo only to find it screws up when its a bit humid. Like you, I need to let off steam in this way.

LOL, it is impossible to get a computer program to work with NO bugs, well maybe "hello world" learning things. The amount of software running below your hotmail and other things is incredible, the operating system for one. And a comparison with a stereo is a bit silly due to this reason. You really remind me of my project leader when I was working as a coder on a project in Malaysia. He kept asking if the code was bug free. As seen as it was just me at first and then a team of 8 coding from 9am till 9pm (at least for a period of 8 months) with no testing department I always said there would be loads but he didn't like that, he expected it to work perfect first time. Any coder/test will tell you the samething. A bug free program is a myth and will never happen (especially with no testing or when someone is spend hours on it for free).

Anyway going to have a look at this fantasy footy thing now, that gave me a good chuckle thanks.

  11. I don't believe David Dunn deserves an exclusive interview anyway especially after THAT penalty at Old Trafford.

You should see the whole thing the other way around. Does this message board deserve the exclusive interview with Dunn. Take you away from the board and its a yes but with you here and making stupid comments, it gets debatable.

Thanks Dunny for a good interview.

  12. They should add cup games back on to the season ticket. Maybe add a LITTLE to the price (no more than a £10 for me) but all the cup games should be included. This would mean little income from cup games but would give the supporter the possibility of a few extra games for free. Season tickets would then be seen as a better buy and the club has a higher budget. Any club that budgets on income from cups should expect trouble so the potential loss of cash in shouldn't be a problem. The main bill, player wages, gets paid weekly not per match so the biggest cost won't change due to a cup run, and the reward money and none-season ticket sales would cover basic costs such as floodlights etc.. easily.

  13. lol - would drop Tugay as he don't seem to be playing that well - actually like the system - or would if I thought anyone of our midfielders could play in a more advanced role i.e.  a date i say it Dunn (think he needed to go but would be perfect for that role)
  14. IF you lot don't think something needs to be done NOW, you obviously don't care about Rovers.

You know everyone who posts on this board is a passionate (bar Sam Dingle) Rovers fan! Why say something like that which will only pi** people off!

Sounded even today untill the Cole sending off.  Can't believe Wolves are above us.  Waiting till Leicester when I get to see the game live to decide a lot off things.  Ok one game can go either way and I can't judge for all the games so far, but hopefully ill be able to tell the thought out opinions to the knee jerk or ultra optomistic views.  Either way GS SHOULD NOT GO!

  15. Be careful what you wish for, rover6, you just might get it.

If Souness does end up at Spurs, who exactly are we planning to bring in who will be so much better?

The likes of Cole, Friedel and Tugay joined Rovers citing Souness as a key factor in joining the club.

True, Souness has shown a tactical naivety at times which makes Keegan look like RFW but you cant criticise his commitment to the club. If he went we'd have the nice & loyal but totally uncharismatic Tony Parkes to keep things ticking over until we could find someone - from Europe probably - who we could afford.

If we're still losing home games to weak teams after Christmas, perhaps then we might start looking around to see who could do a better job but until then lets get behind the boss & stop being so fickle. End of last season we all loved Souness like a brother, didnt we?!

Brilliant post, Keegan being a RFW made me chukle (and i needed it).  I am very glad that this post has been treated with this attitude, it deserves it.
