  1. Any suggestions will be more than welcome and passed on to the club. But we have to remember that the club have spent a lot of money on incentives before and the results show that people are responding. They can't just go on slashing ticket prices.

Matchday and season ticket prices are already some of the cheapest in the Premiership. Take a look at what Bolton, Wigan and Preston (if they get promoted) fan's will be paying!

The main problem is there is no need to buy a season ticket! There are always tickets available and the other advantages are fairly limited. Unfortunately the club's hands are a bit tied on what the can offer. Cup revenue is split 50:50 between the clubs (with a bit for the FA, sponsors, etc) so Rovers cannot offer free cup tickets to ST holder. Say we draw Man U in an early round, Rovers will have to basically give money direct to United!!

I think any suggestions will be look at by the club. They need the fans to help.

  2. Don't know about anybody else, but I am already so excited about next weekend! I'll be unbearable by this time next week! wink.gif

Just incase anyone is that interested, I have been checking the long range forecast from the Met Office (you know, as part of planning what to wear!). This is taken from our intranet at the Environment Agency (sorry mods if I need a link):

    11 April - 24 April 2005

·Overview: A changeable period is suggested with higher pressure across southern parts for a time while. Atlantic lows continue to move in from the west or northwest.

·Temperature: Daytime temperatures are suggest as recovering to around normal, although there are more likely to be some days above average, some days below. Night minima are suggested as being mostly

above average, suggestive of a good deal of cloud.

·Rainfall: For the north and northeast, near normal rainfall is suggested but, for Wales and the rest of England, wetter than normal period is more likely. Again, this is suggestive of wet days followed by drier

    spells.

·Sunshine: For the north and northeast, average sunshine totals are suggested but, for the south and southwest, it is most likely to be rather dull at times. However, even here, some brighter days are also

    possible.

·Confidence: MEDIUM for the recovery in temperatures but LOW for other details.

So, not totally clear from that, but maybe the roof will be closed. Anyway, I'm too excited to care whether it rains cool.gif

  3. Probably your best bet is to contact the guy who used to write a page about programmes in our matchday programme. I can't remember his name - John Haworth?

Don't know if anyone on here can get his contact details. I think I used to have them, but don't know how up to date they will be. If you do attend matches at Ewood, he usually has a couple of tables of programmes in the car park at the corner of the Blackburn End and Jack Walker Stand. I don't normally go past there, so I don't know if he is always there. Nice guy and very helpful - I am sure he will be able to give you an idea of its value.

  4. To the Leicester game.

I'm dead worried. A few days ago I was confident we'd win comfortably but the nearer the game gets, the more I think we could be beaten.

There's too much talk about semi-finals, even finals. I'm as guilty as anyone. On Sunday at Everton I talked about Cardiff, I spoke to Nuclearsox on the phone today and talked about Cardiff, and there's plently of talk on here about Cardiff. We're not there yet.

Rovers aren't in the bottom half for nothing. No matter how much we've improved under Hughes, we're still more than capable of playing crap and losing to anyone. If the team share any of the complacency that the fans seem to have then there's every chance we'll get beat, because make no mistake, Leicester will be up for it.

I think we'll nick it by the odd goal, but I'm dead worried.

    I feel exactly the same!

I have got a bit carried away - even phone round a few hotels in Cardiff, but I've been so nervous the last couple of days. I've been very confident about all the rounds so far, but as it gets closer, I don't feel the same about this.

I keep telling myself that after such a good win at Everton, Sunday should be fairly easy......but we support Rovers!

I keep thinking about all the bad games and results against Leicester in the past few years, I need to starting thinking about the good games like the play-off final.

  5. There is a thread somewhere on the main MB about this, but I'd say the further you are away from Blackburn, the better the chance you have of getting hold of one.

I don't know where you live, but SportSoccer would be the best place to try. They are part of the company that hold Rovers' kit manufacturing and merchandising rights.

The kits are cheap anyway so you won't get them cheaper if you go to other stores. JJB won't be able to help you anyway because they are the competition! They struggled getting our shirts in the first place, and I don't think they are particuarly interested in them because they will make a loss if they sell them at a reduced price due to the deal with SportsSoccer.

So get down to SportSoccer and support the shop that's supporting your club!!

P.S. Good luck trying to find anything in there!! hehe

  6. Wow that is impressive! Even if we got out tickets on sale early we wouldn't have demand like that.

I can only guess it shows the difference in the attitude of the Canaries' fans compared to Rovers' fans. I think Rovers' fans, on the whole, still expect too much from a season, whereas for Norwich, just getting back into the Premiership was the most they would expect to achieve.

Depends on the price.........if pre-booked tickets were froze then the demand would be good.

I know what you are saying, but our season ticket prices were frozen last year and we didn't have a great demand!

  8. "Meanwhile, Bolton striker El Hadji Diouf is unlikely to face any disciplinary action following his dive in Monday night's Lancashire derby.

The Football Association are powerless to take action against the Senegalese forward because the referee, Steve Bennett, dealt with the incident in the game by awarding a penalty.

That makes no sense anyway! We are not suggesting further action should be taken against someone who has done something wrong, e.g. elbowing another player, attacking a fan, etc. Steve Bennett has not dealt with the incident by awarding a penalty huh.gif

The incident is that it has been proven and generally accepted (even admitted by his union leader and his manager!!) that Diouf dived.

I'd be very interested to hear what responses we all get back from the FA.

  9. Definitely not getting the Kasabian praise. I've listened to the album three or four times and it's appearing to me to be more overhyped rubbish.

I agree. There music might have sounded good if it was around 10 years ago.

Or if they stopped making any.

Hehe I wasn't going to be as harsh, but yes, good point!

  10. Simon Garner - I would have loved to have seen him and Shearer together in attack. Thatwoul've been something!

Garner and Shearer would be my choice for the front two, but I wouldn't want to have seen them playing together! I don't think Shearer would have got half as many goals as he did for us playing with Garner. Shearer needs a Sutton or Newell type strike-partner to play off. Good job this 'greatest' team is just on paper!

  12. Bennett totally ruined the match and should be punished like the cheating Bolton g*ts.

I very much doubt anything will happen about Diouf and I haven't seen it again yet. Nothing can happen with Nolan because he was booked for it. But it doesn't matter anyway, because the FA aren't going to take 2 points off Bolton.

And don't even get me started on Big Sam's comments.....
