Some chaddy-esque revisions on Callum Brittain happening.

He’s a top right back at this level. Huge loss if he goes.

Check my post history, I liked him in his first few months here but then he seemed to decline. He was obviously much better last year as his forward play was excellent but I still found him frustrating when it came to defending.

I don't think we'll miss his as defending but we're going to miss him going forward.

Brittain along with Tronstad was one of our best players last season and important one but Brittain good going forward had some defensive lapses....still one of the best players on his day in the division.

I wasn't a fan of Brittain as I've always thought he's a poor defender but half-decent going forward. Last season he excelled in that respect along with his workrate so it will be disappointing for yet another player to leave after a good season.

The bigger problem is that we'll likely replace him with someone cheap who is poor at defending and going forward.

I've got nothing against the club trying to unearth some gems from more obscure sources, I think it's potentially a good strategy and if a few come off then those involved deserve credit. The only thing that annoys me is the misleading of the transfer fee's.

Seeing as we're not signing another CB, I'd say this will probably be the final perm signing of the window, any others will be young prem loans I think.

If we don't sign another CB then we've only got Carter, Wharton and Hyam haven't we? Even worse when Carter and Wharton inevitably get injured.

    Terrifying.

  4. Both players are on their last legs and I'd be disappointed if I was a Derby fan, but I'd rather them doing a job for us as squad players than them. Baath is the one we'll miss the most but Weimann chipped in with some goals that won't be replaced. The likely replacements won't be very good and that's the main issue.

Had a chat with someone today.  Told Venkys aren't looking to sell but not happy with those running the club. Waggott the first but not expected to be the last. Also alluded - as most had worked out - that the current leadership did not want promotion.

By leadership, does that mean the owners don't want promotion or Suhail, Gestede and Waggott?

    Waggott's list of "achievements":

    Introduced the "match day tax"

Affordable seating scrapped for the majority of his tenure.

Tried to charge people for using Blues on matchday. Not sure if that was shelved?

Increased season ticket prices during the pandemic by up to 25% for a season where no-one could attend reducing the ST base at that point to 2.5k.

Unsuccessfully trying to flog off part of Brockhall no doubt costing the Club a load of money in the process.

Two high profile January transfer deadline day collapses on his watch.

In the most recent January window spent £20 k p.w. on a guy who hadn't kicked a ball for 10 months and who unsurprisingly barely kicked a ball for us.

Two successive head coaches alienated to the extent where they walked out.

The recent despicable decision regarding the women's team.

    I'm sure there's more.

I was told by a family member of a first teamer that he massively wrecked the morale of the first team during the second half of JDT's first season, when he let it be known he was releasing anyone on big money and selling anyone worth anything.

Whether it was true or not that Waggott was to blame I don't know but everything they said came true. They also said he was trying to sell Adam Wharton to Newcastle for a shockingly low amount but Wharton wouldn't go.

    In two minds on this.

On side we know his flaws, his past, his clear inability and reluctance to manage upwards and his obvious slippery character traits.

On the other side he is the nearest thing to a genuine football administrator they've ever employed and has overseen a period of stability on the pitch at least.

I think it's the guy above him who has and is the real issue here and to replace Waggot with Gestede will no doubt trigger chaos. End of the day though all they have done is brought forwards his retirement a bit and i expect it's another desperate cost cutting measure if he's off straight away.

He was so far away from being a genuine football administrator but it's such a low bar at this club after Derek Shaw and co.

I'll always see him as another chancer who took everything he could out and put very little back in.

I'll also always see him as the reason JDT's first season was derailed along with Adam Wharton leaving. And he'd have left a lot cheaper if the kid hadn't dug his heels in, it wasn't Waggott holding out for more money.

We didn’t miss out on playoffs because of the draw today. We missed out because our owners ran off our manager in February and we subsequently went on to only pick up 4 points from the next 24 possible. The owners are 💯 to blame. Eustace knew the “substantial investment” wasn’t anywhere near enough and it proved true today after the fire power of Forshaw, Kargbo, Woodrow, and Dennis came on for the final push.

Those two points we were cheated out of at Turf Moor would have seen us in the play offs.

At least there was some justice with them not winning the league.

Funny how Dennis, on paper, was probably our most exciting attacker we've signed in a while, yet he's literally offered nothing.

Kargbo still raw so not going to give him much slack, he's a useful player and perhaps not the game for him when he came on.

Really happy for Toth, happy we will start next season with a decent keeper.

Our Back line has battled well all season, our down fall has been uptop - Not enough quality on the final third

Dennis hadn't played in ages, I didn't expect much from him.

If only Eustace had stuck with Toth instead of Pears.

As for upfront, it won't be addressed. The last time they spent money on a striker was 6 years ago. Gueye and Dolan will be their way.
