  1. Tom Finn has stated again that the heating was turned on after the players trained on the pitch on Christmas Day and remained on throughout.

The massive drop in temperature yesterday late afternoon/early evening was too much for the system and it could not cope.

  2. Just been down to Ewood for my cup tickets and a member of the Ticket Office staff was saying that the biggest dissapointment was that last nights attendance would heve been far and away the largest at Ewood all season.

Don't know if he was taking the mickey, but he said the game would have been close to a sell out!

  3. I'm not blaming Todd but I think he knew what he was doing; there is little doubt Beattie would have been clean through if he had taken his hand away. Right decision by the linesman which probably cost us the game. Tin hat time I think.  sad.gif

Well its all about opinions, in my view Todd wasn't even looking at the ball and so it was totally accidental.

Still we can all agree it cost us the game.

Have to say we should not be downhearted. We played some very good football and if we continue in the same vein we will win more than we lose.

  4. Jansen not good enough for the Premier League? Remember his debut? If I remember correctly it was at home to Spurs. The ball was played up to him on the edge of the box. He controlled it with one touch, held off Sol Campbell turned and volleyed it into the net. It was a goal of supreme skill and the sort of strike that Dickov can only dream of. And just to prove it was not a fluke he scored an almost identical goal against Liverpool.

He should have gone to Japan with England in the world cup as his performance that season deserved it. However Sven had a last minute change of mind and took Keown instead! Then we all know what happened to Matt after that.

Jansen had more talent and natural ability than Dickov ever will have (note I said had), and I am sure Dickov would agree with that. He doesn’t pretend to be anything else than a hardworking player who knows his own limitations but still gives 100% every game.

Dickov is the second best striker we have at the club at the moment IMO and is certainly worth his place in the side, but anyone who thinks ability wise he could match Jansen our deluded. And sadly the people who think that Jansen can rekindle the form he had are equally deluded.

  5. At Half time is was 0-0. Second half we brought on Bellamy, won 3-0 and he set all of the goals up. Surely a balanced report would be to give him the vast majority of the credit?

True. Bellamy deserves the majority of the credit, trouble is at night matches the majority of match reports are written at half-time with the second-half tagged on the last paragraph.

I suppose it comes down to deadlines.

  6. Inspired by the pathetic Halsey I'd like to have personally pulled the trigger on

    2.  Whoever sent Wilcox off at Nottingham for dropping the ball onto the ground  (presumably instead of wiping it, drying it and handing it gently to a Forest player).

It was a shocking decision. Seem to think it was a clown who went by the name of Paul Danson.

  7. "We hoped to break quickly and exploit the gaps they might leave." Blackburn manager Mark Hughes said. "A lot of people have been too quick to criticise us. Perhaps after this performance, they'll give us a bit more credit."

Wrong Mark from the reports that I've read this morning it was MU who lost the game not us who won it. mad.gif

The three wise men on Sky this morning on Jimmy Hills show discussed yesterdays games and had a long conversation about United without mentioning Blackburn Rovers once!

It was all "whats gone wrong at OT".

  8. Good article by William Johnson in this mornings Telegraph. Rovers feature quite heavily in it comlete with a picture of swathes of empty seats from Sundays game.

All the usual reasons are put forward for the decline in attendances and it seems that JW has called for a summit meeting of all Premiership chairman to address the situation.

Sorry not time to find a link but the aticle is entitled "Premiership hits the buffers."

  9. I feel ghastly at the thought I'm chosing to stay at home........which may eventually force me to go. Is this what it has come to?

    347752[/snapback]

    I feel exactly the same.

I will be there on Wednesday, but I will only go because it is a habit. I have not missed a home game for over 16 years so it has become almost a sense of duty.

I won't expect it to be a pleasure.
