  1. We need a central midfielder, but we won't get one because Hughes loves Savage.  His headless chicken style of play isn't suited to this level, it's probably why his career peaked at the mighty Birmingham City.

Reid is a good box-to-box player and if we could have a holding midfielder who's intelligent with the ball alongside him we'd have a perfect combination.  Savage is just impossible to put into a pair, his positioning is too erratic to be a holding player and he's not intelligent enough to be the forward running one.

Apart from that, and possibly cover at centre back, there isn't a whole lot wrong.

A good point well made, but I think Savage's energy can make up for his sometimes erratic positioning, and we will see that come good in the next few weeks.

  2. You would also end up walking with a limp. ;-)

And the Soul of the club in my eyes is not the ground. It is the fans

This messagebaord seems to be going downhill, FAST.

Its amazing how many people are so eager to sell the name of the ground for a few quid, so that they have more money to spend on the new championship manager.

The foreigners always seem so keen to get some money in, no matter what it involves!

  3. Nice lad who was a panic buy that got plenty of luck in front of goal but who used it all up in the first season (thank goodness). But its plain as a pikestaff that Stead will never be a top striker in the Prem. So dont be all maudlin ya big soft gits ........we've got 1.8 million for a 3rd / 4th choice benchman. rover.gif

    Agreed.

I don't think stead posseses any real quality and seemed to be in the right place at the right time an awful lot during his first few months.

    Cheers steady tinykit.gif

  4. I keep checking back on there site and cant seem to find anything at all.

With only 1 week to go before the proposed second phase, surely they aren't going to go ahed with it now, as nobody else seems to even know about it.

  5. I've just realised that the second sales phase starts in little over a week, but I can't seem to find any information regarding it on the website.

I beleive its first come, first serve, and would be a perfect oppurtunity to get a few more tickets in the bag....so does anyone know how its going to work?

  6. 3 tickets for match no. 4, on 10.06.2006, in the city of Dortmund, price category ...

3 tickets for match no. 10, on 12.06.2006, in the city of Gelsenkirchen, price category ...

WAHEY, WERE GOING TO ZE GERMANY!

  7. To put it simply:

Thompson just isnt good enough and is never going to fit in this team, he's been useless for too long and i dont see a way back.

MGP is far too light and soft, he generally doesnt do very much at all during games, but because of his amazing finishing ability he grabs quite a lot of goals. Im really not sure about him.

  8. Waggy, do you know exactly what time tommorow the applications end? I presumed it would be midnight, but me and the lads still havent managed to get it sorted tonight so were going to have to leave it until tommorow, just want to make sure I don't miss out.

  9. just logged into our beatiful messageboard to have a little look through this thread, and there it was sat right at the top of the forum, its the little things that make u smile isnt it biggrin.gif

Anyway, I haven't applid yet, but I will be doing so tommorow night, I think i'm going to apply twice for the exact same set of 4 tickets, because it is heavily over-subscribed at the moment, and I want to make sure I've got at least some tickets before the next phase.

It still seems quite difficult to understand though, what exactly is on offer in the next 3 sales rounds?

Im just going to order the tickets for my favourite stadiums out of the bunch, and sort the travelling out later, should be fun smile.gif

So were is everyone else going to be staying? Im thinking of driving, so my hotel budget is going to minimal for the 2 week stay.

The mastercard thing is a joke, but forutnately I've managed to find one so the £500 limit should cover it.

  10. I'm not saying anything about the salaries of the two police forces.

StuWilky pointed out that the Wigan rates don't applied to the policing of BRFC games. You doubted that the figures would be different. They are.  thumbs-up.gif

as with wilksy earlier on i'm not entirely sure if you're struggling to understand my posts or maybe you just have problems with your reading capabilities? rolleyes.gif

my quote was that i doubt there is "a big difference" between the hourly rates of equivalent officers working for both forces,i stand by that quote.

all my posts have revolved round the police hourly rates

and not the total police bill, which has no relevance to the hourly rates, originally i merely quoted the hourly rates of officers that were used by the gmp to try and justify their extortionate police bill to wigan.

in future i suggest reading the posts through properly before jumping in with both feet and making yourself look a bit silly. laugh.gif

Mr trabb, kindly shut the ###### up.

    Thanks

  11. Dingles....can I just ask, how exactly are you going to keep closing this gap between yourselves and rovers???

You have absolutely no money, you don't even have any assets, and yet were receiving premiership TV payments, etc etc every year!

The way I see it, we can only improve our strike force because it can't really get any worse, and Hughesy is a well respected man in football and can attract some big name players to ewood.

Down at turd moor however, if you continue to improve (i.e. stay in the championship) then the first transfer you see will be your gaffer running for a real wage packet!

And as for your support, I was at Deepdale on Saturday and you were absolutely embarrasing, outsung by a few chavs at the town of the Shankly....of the 2 songs that you manage to sing, the first one is copied from the rovers, and the second, you try to fit 3 syllabuls into a 2 syllabul chant that ends up sounding like a southern cheese factory (Bun-a-lee)

  12. Just followed at least 300 Burnley scumbag hooligans all the way through Blackburn to the station, patrolled by almost double that amount of Police.

Although they did a good job in the end, and prevented what could have been some very nasty clashes....I cannot beleive the way that the police aloud them to simply roam free within 15 minutes of the final whistle!

Anyone else heard of any trouble?

  13. By the way, did anyone see the banner that Burnley flew over the ground before the game, a shocking effort really, didn't even come close to the infamous 'staying down forever'

Think you may find we have Accrington Stanley to thank for that.

Of course you would need to be able to read to work that out.

Try getting your facts right first inbred.

Looks like you've been wronged again Dingle, i think you'd better start reading the bed time story from now on, because whilst you keep letting your sister do it, your eyes just arent going to improve...masturbation been bad for the eyes and all that.

  14. did you try and stop him - tell him to behave his pikey self? Or was Jordan just not in a listening mood? wink.gif

Although I didn't actually see him kicking the seat in, it did occur to me to confront him but then you see he did have an 18" piece of wood in his hand.

Think that could have been me trying to take a souveneir for the trip sad.gif

Wouldn't fit in my bag though so I thought i'd leave it for zak to refit in the morning.

Not usually my style to be brutally honest, but i thought it would be nice to have a piece of dingledome that i could use as a toilet seat for my dog or something.

By the way, did anyone see the banner that Burnley flew over the ground before the game, a shocking effort really, didn't even come close to the infamous 'staying down forever'

  15. Got to position 1 BUT

"Thanks for calling, unfortunately the service selected is currently busy, please try again later"

    WHAT A F*@KING JOKE

I've just spent TWO HOURS on the phone trying to get through and waiting patiently in the queue to get CUT OFF when I reach position 1 !!!

    WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SHAMBLES !!!

I'm trying to get tickets for a group of people who have had season tickets for 12 continuous seasons.

After this experience and the sh!t on the pitch we've had to endure this season, I am seriously considering not bothering next season.

TWO HOURS WORTH OF PHONE CALLS TO GET CUT OFF !!!

    I'M ABSOLUTELY FUMING.

    Premiership club, League Two administration.

    PATHETIC

Absolutely agreed. I was waiting for over an hour this morning and when i got to number when I was told i was in the wrong que, and was hung up on.

I have since got to number 10 and was told we had sold out. Now having been to 4 aways this season and almost every one last season, season ticket for 5 years and both FA cup games this year, I still wasnt aloud to get four tickets for Burnley so I waited until this morning.

Now Im going to have a word with various people at the club, but I think if Im not given a chance at some tickets I will definately be following your route, fed up of the disgrace that there turning into and I wont put up with it any longer

  16. The result was wrong but the performance was so, so right. For me this was what I expect from our current squad. An excellent hard-working, professional performance that made the so-called best team in the league look average. Certainly Chelsea have the more talented players but we matched them in every department, prevented them from playing and there was absolutely no disgrace in losing tonight - a draw or even a win would have been no more than Rovers deserved.

The new boys, Ryan Nelsen, Robbie Savage and Aaron Moekoena were excellent, as was MGP. Dickov woked very hard but he's not a lone striker. Must confess to being a bit worried by Thommo's performance which wasn't that good.

Overall great stuff from the lads. Top marks to Sparky for bringing us so far since the visit to Stamford Bridge. You've put some pride back into Rovers tonight.

I won't pretend I know who you are, but you've just saved me a lot of time typing all that out.

    EXCELLENT post!

Just to add a couple of points:

    1. Mourinho was sort of right, we did get stuck in and try to get to them, but he can't complain about spoiling tactics.

    2. Nelson and Todd looks to be an excellent partnership, two very experienced and mature Defenders, and what they lack in pace they can make up for with brains.

  17. He's got to go today, its dragged on to long and he's going to lose value by the summer because of contract etc etc

I bet hughesy is away somewere talking to another couple of players, knowing full well that if they want to come he can call JW and tell him to drop the asking price a little.
