Any inclination on whether GH is likely to be a loan or a buy, Glen?

I think the SVB saga just shows how transfers can be on/off just like that, and its never properly on until its announced as done.
Its not a new thing, its just this one has been played out more within the media and supporter base, than others. The club at no point ever indicated publically it was on or off, although its widely accepted by most of us it was likely to happen.
Waiting for players until the said club has either signed a replacement or injury crisis has cleared up is common, but with it you always run the risk others can come in and gazump you.
Hirst will be interesting now, as i was told that was done, given he didnt play for the under 23s after that, then im not sure why we aint got another sticker in the album yet?
Going back to Styles, I was told it was adds ons that were the issue, and the agent didnt think it be an issue. Rovers confirmed he was a target, but some 3 weeks later, it hasnt happened and Styles continues to play for his club. You could say thats similar to BBD, as no one has met our conditions yet and remains available for selection.
The deals done to date show we have a budget, some that havent happened YET, could fall in the category of us/them needing other things to fall into place which triggers the "all systems go"

Mystical nixon now reporting German clubs are after van den berg. If true had a feeling this would happen late on. I do think we should bin this off now and focus on other areas to strengthen. Then possibly a last minute deal for van hecke.
He would fly him there himself, if it meant he was right

Brereton aside.
Anybody think we might have 1 or 2 senior players exit in the next few days?
I got an inkling Dack might go if we bring another attacker in (maybe Mowbray will take him on at Sunderland if he gets that job)
Cant currently think of another senior player that could leave with the squad as thin as it is, depends who comes in
Dack won't be going anywhere, however if a decent bid comes in for the likes of Gallagher i think we will take the money given he is s high earner and we can redistribute his salary to two players.
Out also Butterworth, Vale maybe on loan and Carter IF we sell BBD which triggers a perm move for Van Hecke.
Either way, a busy few days ahead in-between having a game too

George Hirst?
Why?
In fairness to him, his wiki stats do not tell the full picture. He was scoring 40 goals plus at under 21 level whilst also scoring regurlar at various England age groups.
He barely got minutes at Rotherham, and after Xmas last season his goals to game ratio was one of the best in the country.
Leicester still think there is a player in there hence new contracts etc.

Hirst is coming?
I believe thats much further down the line than whats being reported,
As with Hyan , Brittain , Szmodics club being tight lipped with local media, probably to allow them to switch targets if BBD is sold.
Although we are not reliant on BBD sale, his departure does increase transfer budget which brings other players into play

With around 100 hours to go, its shaping up like this,
Brittain, Morton, Szmodics, Sepp, Hyam and Hirst in.
BBD out which will open door to. potentially a couple more coming in.
Players that could be revisited Maja, Styles, Bowler, Van Hecke.
BBD sale likely to generate an additional £5 mill to spend, though with wages issue cap, i still think we will struggle to improve on 4 in, with the 4th a direct BBD replacement, which is likely to come from abroad due to uk transfer fees offering little value.

Talking to my Portsmouth mate' he says Hirst a real grafter, handful and clinical, he says they were quoted £5 mill when they wanted to make it permanent

Also saying that Brighton want £500,000 loan fee for JPVH and that we have moved back ahead of Sunderland for him. Just can’t see that somehow
Be shocked if we took him as another loan tbh

As BBD’s replacement or regardless of what happens to him?
A Prem loan as a replacement for BBD would be standard under this lot.
Not as a replacement,

He’s been rumoured for a while hasn’t he so could be a good shout. Not one I want personally tho
I think this one will happen based on what i was told yesterday, seems we have been looking at under 23s from prem as striker options.
Stansfield on the other hand being part of fulham first team squad seems to have back burnered that, although a loan on deadline day wouldn't come as a surprise for him

Nixon saying that hyam is being held up due to bbd not being sold. Apparently bbd sale was due on Friday but never happened and that's why he is yet to sign. We will soon see if nixon is talking out his arse.
He is talking out his ass, Hyam deal done, unrelated to BBD, and no deal remotely close to sell BBD

Three wins followed by three defeats. The knives are out but if it had been WLWLWL would fans be so concerned because overall it’s mid table form which is about this squad’s level at the moment.
More concerning is the way we’re playing and the direction of travel because assuming we don’t get more and better players in before the deadline this is the squad that Tomasson will have to work with
Unless you believe in the saying that you can’t make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear you just have to hope he can make something of them .
The second half yesterday provided some hope but he’s got a tough task on his hands. We’re about to find out if he’s a good manager or not.
We literally scored with every shot the first 3 games.
QPR was poor, we got the job done.
Swansea totally dominated, we hit them on the break and took our chances.
WBA we scored with our only chances and left Bruce scratching his head.
Despite 9 points at that stage, I was concerned we had new manager bounce as the the only stat that supported those results was the one that mattered, we'd won somehow.
The next 3, its been woeful.
Its not by a lack of effort either, I see 11 players genuinely trying their best, but also 11 players scratching their heads at how we get control of the game and penetrate.
This is not down to one summer of losing certain players, this is down to a number of summers of a lack of real investment in the transfer market. Signing players for pennies in a market where your pennies get you very little.
I genuinely think any manager would be struggling with the current crop of players, because although we have some talented players, the areas we are missing to compliment them is becoming increasingly likely to go un-filled applying more pressure on the manager to get results without the tools to do so

The worrying thing Glen is how much more do you think he’ll get outta this group?
Its a very fair point and one which i cant answer with confidence either way until after Thursday
We have lots of central players and number 10s.
However at this time we have no genuine wingers or width and No natural number 9 to hang our coat on to produce the goals.
We could argue, thats not the way we play, however the current personnel in the main were found out from Xmas time onwards last season. We became ever so predictable and what i've seen to date under JDT is a lot worse than what I was seeing last season. We lack creativity or any real game plan. The football is not nice to watch, which i can handle if we are getting the results. Thing is, the last 3 league games we never at one point looked like getting a result and its not down to defensive frailties.
We have some talented kids in Wharton ect, but in the end its not enough and unless we get 6 through the door which includes a striker and a couple of creative players then I dont see us scoring enough goals to stay up.
I'm genuinely worried

We're rock bottom on both counts. So much for JDT's attacking football.
Thanks, so basically 13 shots on target in 6 games?
This is the most worrying thing for me, we are creating nothing, not working the opposition with meaningful shots, and had we not scored with nearly every shot on target in those first three games, JDT reign would likely of been less than Bergs.
Like his honesty, the things he says, but the football needs to improve massively
