Picked this up myself (after a glowing report from Kamy) I wasn't going to (at full price anyway) because I thought it was basically going to be Dragons Lair but its not. The story really does pull you in. There are parts (that I wont spoil) that really make you want to help the character and make them get through. I keep thinking that if I do something wrong and that character dies then I am not going to see how their story ends (If you mess up they really do die and don't come back - so I read anyway as I have been to frightened to let it happen so far) This is a reason I would play through again and do things differently to see what happens. If your into only playing things like call of duty where you run round like a bumble bee with a gun for a hour going mental then this probably isn't for you. If your after something a little different with a good story then pick this up. Yes the controls/camera can be really fiddly at times but its really not putting me off. There have been a couple of occasions where I didnt picked the choice that I wanted but I think thats just my naff tv not displaying icons well enough. What gets me is that the Mrs watches things like this on the telly. I said that it may interest her to take a look but just gives that silly look of - you and your silly computer games. Such a shame. God of War III is here today but I think Heavy Rain is getting finished before it goes on - I didn't think I would be saying that either.

Played the Just Cause 2 Demo and really really tried to make myself like it but I just couldn't. It felt very much like the first one where once the gimmicks have worn off (shooting a gas bottle into the sky/using your parachute/grappling hook is fun for about the first 5 times) the actually gameplay feels a bit old. Where GTA seems to have advanced with cover option and targeting in this you just seem to be all over the place (granted this could just be me being really rubbish) The enemies just seem to spawn from everywhere and are very hard to tell who is a normal bod and who is an enemy especially when driving. The vehicles themselves feel awful. I got into pretty much all the demo had to offer I think which ranged from a scooter to a helicopter and even what I can only describe as a knight rider car with a machine gun on top. Not one for me but interested in what others think in case I am missing something with it.

Went to watch Avatar last night. I thought it was overrated but still an ok film. Some points though:- Why was Derek Acorah the bad guy? How can Derek Acorah kick down a thick metal air locked door? How can a bow and arrow smash through an indestructible air craft window (went it couldnt earlier on) If the tip of said arrow can kill a fella in 10 seconds why did it take 3 to take out Derek Acorah? The 3D gubbins were good although at times I felt my eyes following a fly rather than the film (thats a fly in the film and not one in the cinema)

I played the God or War III demo last night. Its not the final build (it said it was from June last year) but you can see that it has lotts of promise. A few glitches and pops but again I just think thats the demo. Really though I think it just shows what a great job they did on the PS2 with God of War I and II. The main game will be getting a good play through when it comes out in a couple of weeks. Click me for more info I did turn this off half way through though because I didnt want to spoil it.

I should point out that the demo for Heavy Rain can now be downloaded through the store instead of messing around on that website like with the beta.

I think myself and my pals must play too long then. A new game can be polished off in about 2 weeks (at the most) and so its back to the shop before the trade in drops.

It always puzzled me why a big game is never released in January. All the kids (and me) get vouchers for xmas but they generally have the games when they come out now and so have nothing to by in January. A half decent game would surly make a killing as oppose to going up against the likes of Assassins Creed and Call of Duty in November/December

Yes it does. I have £70 of vouchers with some going on God of War III and the rest on Red Dead. The new Street Fighter I managed to get for £20 so thats not so bad. Going to be a nice few months for gaming.

Played Heavy Rain last night. It doesn't flow as I was expecting and when walking around feels very slow. I do want to get it to play out the story though. For those that want the demo (its not directly up in the store) Go Here and register. I think a few people need to take their Rovers tinted specs off for a minute. For a striker who is getting on a bit and hasn't played much football lately offering nearly two million (I reckon we could probably get that out of them) is quite good business I think. With Benni being one of the top earners at the club we should have a bit of cash for wages too. We all know that which ever club Benni goes too he would be on fire for the first couple of months but I doubt it would last much longer. The question going to be thrown back is - who can we then get in for 2m to replace him. My answer - we can't (I did think Beckford but then I reminded myself that we already have Jason Roberts doing that job just fine)

Why not go the whole hog and get street hawk done as well

I am not coming over to England until April and doubt it will still be on then so will miss out on all the hoo haa (Our cinema over here is like the old one in Blackburn that used to be near the library.....I think)
