  1. I read in the paper that in the new Bond movie he is going to swap his dry martini shaken not stirred for a coke zero after a 5m sponsor from coke.

If this is true (remember, it was only read in a sunday paper) it really would be very sad to see them sell out bond in such a way.

Having said that I would be impressed if he got to the bar and asked for a pint of bitter and a bag of nutts

  2. I played the demo.

    Lots of fun!

I'll buy it. Didn't particularly notice any camera issues. I'll have to play through it again I guess.

I have played through the demo a couple of times now and I am not impressed. 'The Force' power doesn't feel right. Half the time you throw something and it doesn't go where you want (someone will say it must be me now). The lightsaber doesn't feel like I am wielding a lightsaber and the euphoria engine (the bit the splinters wood/smashes glass into a million pieces) just feels tacked on.

Over rated on the hype machine me thinks. Till something better comes I will carry on playing god of war for this type of game.

  3. I really enjoyed Batman. The last couple of superhero films I have seen have been poor (Spidy 3 and Xmen the last stand)

Some things did nark me (I am sure mentioning these things wont spoil the film for anyone)

Whats with his voice? Bruce Wayne talks normal. He puts on the Batman suit and you would think he has smoked 60 fags a day for 40 years. I get the thing about him masking his voice but why does he mask it in front of those that know he is Bruce Wayne?

He is a normal bloke - no superpowers. At the start, how the hell does he bend a gun?

And a very petty one. (And do not highlight this if you haven't seen the film and it could spoil it)

I thought there was only one baddy in but as soon as they said 'Harvey Dent' I knew right away that Two Face was going to be in it. Again, just a petty one.

Other than that I walked out feeling that I really got my moneys worth and haven't done that in a while.

  4. You going to the Palace ? Their website says you can pick your seats but when you book you only get best available ??!

Yes I am. For anyone who has been to the Palace cinema over here (very few if any I can bet) there isnt much leg room no matter where you sit so it dosent really matter. Wasnt given any choice but on my way in in half an hour so will see then.

    You'll enjoy it.

Haven't come across anyone who hasn't, just hope you get a comfy seat.

See above for the comfy seat reply but yep hopefully if its as good as the last one I will like it.

  5. Have been granted a pass by the Mrs to go and watch Batman this week however, on checking it is on for the last week now and the screening is 10pm each day - may have to wait for the DVD now :(

 Bit the bullet and got tickets for tonight. Probably not going to get home until 1AM.

It better be worth it is all I can say.

  6. Just back from Batman, wow what a film.

Ledger and Eckhart's performances are sensational.

Have been granted a pass by the Mrs to go and watch it this week however, on checking it is on for the last week now and the screening is 10pm each day - may have to wait for the DVD now :(

  7. Watched Lost Boys 2 last night, no wonder it was straight to DVD, it did feature a Sutherland, Kiefer's half brother Angus, worst line in it came from Corey Feldman.

On approching 2 vampires, "ok who ordered the steak"

I loved the Lost Boys but never even knew they made a second one. What year is it from anyway?

  8. Kele says it was racism, Lydon denied it but other bands have come out since backing up Kele's story. Doesn't surprise me one bit - Never Mind the ###### is a classic, but Lydon is a (please dont use that word again) of the highest order and they're one of the biggest embarassments in music these days.

I always thought that until I saw him on that 'I'm a celebrity get me out of here' on which I thought he came across ok (I better than I thought he would at least)

  9. I agree that calling them 'one of the most important bands ever' is much too excessive, but the Stone Roses only had two albums too and theyre still (rightly) regarded as legendary. Up the Bracket was a fantastic album, especially lyrically.

Ah yes so my argument about the two album thing is blown away

The mags that compare The Stone Roses and The Libertines in the same bracket are stupid.

  10. Wow, a crystal clear definition of one of the most overrated bands of recent years. The hysteria surrounding The Libertines is embarrassing .

I agree. I never take to much interest of the 'TOP 100 BANDS EVER' polls that the magasines always run when they have nothing to fill pages but I am always amazed that the Libertines are always high up in them with quotes like 'one of the most important bands ever' next to their picture - hang on, didnt they have something like 2 albums? Pathetic

  11. Jeez, that's some cold s*** right there man.

Specially the first "strategy" shown in that video.

    Wow.

Well from reading other things if you check which way the wind is blowing you can see your targets in a small village and start a fire from far out. The wind will take the fire towards the village and burn them out. Apparently though if the wind changes if will come back for you.

You can also shoot trees. Right down to individual branches.
