  1. Amsterdam was great, laugh had by all. Plenty Rovers fans wandering the streets after experimenting with some of the local produce - I am led to believe that Gav saw Mrs Wilky and myself "giggling at reception" on Wednesday tea time after an afternoon in a cafe. (They had randomly moved all our stuff into a different room - not what we were expecting, and my head wasnt in a good place).

Im not going to comment much on the farcical arrangements by the Dutch Railway authorities, the police, and worst of all the steward staff at the ground. Me and Mrs Wilky finally got into the ground just after half time after "seeing" the first half at different times being shunted around by stewards, made to stand behind locked gates, being sent upstairs to be told it was full and to go back downstairs.

And that @#/? that shouted at my wife (a rather unassuming 5footer) did well not to get a thump.

A great trip ended on a sour note, which is a shame.

And bobfleming was leathered this morning when we left our hotel at 6.45am!!

So you were all smoking some pretty strong stuff?

Sorry to hear your "trip" ended on a sour note :lol:

BRISA awaits your attention. Which has me thinking.Has my subscription gone towards funding trips of all kinds? :o

  2. I partly agree with you except that their highly developed sense of outrage doesn't stop em watching some scratchy El Arabic / Canal (or whatever) coverage in some dingy pub at the end of their street whilst getting severely pissedup does it?

There's nothing wrong with that. They are paying to get pissedup in the pub. It's their money and they can choose to waste in such a way if they wish.

There saving money whilst others are paying to get pissedup whilst travelling to Holland, prior to watching Feyenoord and most likely whilst watching Feyenoord.

  3. Some interesting comments re BRISA.

What is actually happening with this?

I haven't heard anything for ages plus I thought there was supposed to have been a vote re election to the committee.Surely it's over a year a year since its formation?

Btw allow him back...people can use the ignore function vs him if they wish.

  4. I cannot believe that anyone can Hate Man Utd more than the likes of Chelsea or Arsenal.

Chelsea have took the meaning of ‘buying the title’ to a new meaning. How much have they spent since Abramovich took over? Anyone know?

Utd were hated by most because they were the best team in the league. They do however have a massive support (All be it that many are glory hunters), and it is much bigger than the likes of Arsenal or Chelsea.

They are a class team and yes they have players that individuals don’t like – i.e. Ronaldo or Ferdinand – however most don’t like them because they are class players.

I hate Chelsea & Arsenal more than Utd for many reasons. Mainly down to the arrogance and cockiness of the cockneys! I hate their attitude and their teams also carry that same attitude. I wish someone like rovers, Bolton or Everton would just kick the crap out of them in one game and not worry about the media circus and their poor comments.

Like someone said with the likes of Arsenal or Chelsea you aint allowed to defend, or tackle unless you want to upset them. United aint as bothered, if you want a battle then usually the likes of Rooney, Smith, Scholes will give as good as they take.

    LOL.

  5. Maybe we should think of a ball park figure.

Perhaps only 20,000 out of 110.000 folks in Blackburn have the remotest interest in footy. A fair few of the attendance live out of the environs of Lancashire if you take this board as a representation of the fan base.

On any given match day ko time, location etc determime how many folks from out of Lancashire can make it.

If this MB is a true indication of the fanbase I can understand why the non Lancashire based fans choose not to attend on a Thursday evening.Work, school etc... the next day.

Then there is the European competitions themselves. The Champions League...what a joke when clubs complain about the number of games they have to play...make the Champions League the winners of each European league playing off vs against each as it used to be. Same for the UEFA cup.Just like in the old days.

I have no problem with folks choosing what games they attend now the game we love is run by business men.

If a $40,000 a week actor/singer produces a turkey of a movie/song I'll think twice about watching/listening the next time. The same goes for footy....given the game these days is polluted by actors on the playing field I think the consumer has the choice as to whether they buy the product or not.The affluent members of this board, such as Celtic supporting Jan, should consider others situations before spouting crap.

  6. I keep going on about it I know, but Man city had 37000 on last night. The stadium holds around 48000ish? Their average away following has dropped to around 2000.

City had 32000 [capacity] regularly in the old third division, so what's behind their sudden fall?

The cost of attending to watch their team play ###### most games?

  7. The stock answer is NO I havent seen them play. I simply relied on the experts view in the paper report and based my view of the game on that.

I have not got a lot of time for French football or indeed the French at all.

In fact I wouldnt care less if they closed France down and sold it to the lowest bidder, its that much of a shithole, is full of French and instead of the tricolour as its national flag they should simpy replace it with a single yellow piece of cloth. That would sum up my thoughts and views of the French ;)

    LOL my views too
