What? Darwin? Hobart?Neekoy, in all my days in Australia, I've never understood why they have the first test in Brisbane.
It's generally wet in November/December.
Should put the first Test in Darwin, followed a week later by Hobart.
Start in Perth then Adelaide..on to Melbourne..skip Sydney then head to Brisbane and back south to Hobart
-
Agreed.
Heard only 4 days more prep for England before 1st test. Enough time?
Plenty of time.Australia are in disarray.
-
Moving on from BWR's obsession with Stuart Broad.. Michael Clarke returns to first class cricket today with NSW. George Bailey is tipped to be picked for the first Test.

I just wish we went for a win, , and pushed the attacking players higher up the order like the Aussies did. We were never going to win when you have Trott and Cook plodding along scoring 2 an over. The crowd paid a lot of money to be there, we were 3-0 up etc. so make a game of it and really attack the bowlers. Sometimes the really conservative selection policy and captaincy is annoying.
Heck Norbert I woke at 2.30am for some reason...then was glued to the tv for at least an hour when Pietersen and Trott went for it.

Don't bother arguing with him Mike.
He will stick to his point of view even though its based on an incident 40 plus years ago...

Do you research on that tour. Might open your eyes, like.
I've seen several ugly scenes amongst the crowd, in particular at Headingley Tests.
But don't let that stop you going off on one of your one eyed posts.

The insurance paid out, if it wasn't sanctioned by the fire brigade or if appropriate measures were not in place the policy would have been void. Moving on.
No Broad, it does not make you 'unpleasant' it makes you a blatant cheating scum.
A disgraceful comment that you make there BWR.

Kamy, the India you faced at the time was very unbalanced. There were a lot of players who were towards the latter end of their careers. The new look India has a much more vibrant and enthusiastic look about them and we saw that when they dominated the ICC Champions Trophy. I am very confident that we will be returning to the top of the rankings in ALL forms of the game.
It was also the view of your prized-asset, Swann.
Still waiting, darling.
Whats it like living in cloud cuckoo land dear?

Another cracking game in a fascinating series. Australia need 299 to win and England have already wasted a review (Maybe Clarke can handover the "DRS book for dummies" to Cook).
Australia need to bat in intervals - set themselves targets each session and more importantly, bat sensibly. Let's hope cheating doesn't ruin another fascinating run chase.
Oh dear. You couldn't make it up.

India.
The home of the powerbrokers on the ICC, bookmakers and dodgy cricketers.
-
You can't replace the likes of Warne and to a lesser extent McGrath.
They were once in a generation bowlers and at the same time a renowned combination.
-
All teams time waste if it works in their favor to do so, it's just part of the game.
Apart from India by the sounds of it.

Cook out for a duck.

I think the next time the Ashes was due in Australia was 2014-2015 fours years after England last visited.
However the ICC One Day World Cup is being played hence the Ashes was moved.

He's looking for a kick in em should we ever meet Donald..... then again the pair of you might like to form a queue.
You've just fallen for a wrong un there Mr Moldy
-
Thank you Richie. Seeing as you know sweet FA about cricket which newspaper did you lift that from ?
Extremely rarely I agree with you but that's a fine googly!
-
Another shocking decision. England may well win this series but boy have they had the rub of the green.
No wonder the BCCI refrain from using such amateur technology.
Edit: Also, no surprise seeing Prior and Swann
in the midst of it. Cheating scum.
Cheating scum?
Remind me how many Indian players have now been convicted or accused of match fixing?
-
See previous argument re rankings.
Although being as you are a daydream believer you'll pay no attention to it.
-
Top of the rankings ?
Do me a favour.
-
Agree, although population size means India should have a massive advantage in the pool they can call from, also top quality coaching from youth through to international sides make a difference, as does the sports science side (identifying weaknesses etc)
You'd think the Indian (whoops International ) Cricket Council would be delighted if all of that happened.

Clarke's record at number 4 does match his record batting at number 5 .
So perhaps he's not good enough to bat at 4?

Spare a thought for Scotty and Manchester Blue ...
Scott Thornton @ScottThor226m
So, at the start of day, while England were still batting, we jokingly said we'd have a Jagerbomb every time the Aussies lost a wicket..
How bad is it that I'm praying the Aussies don't lose another wicket before tea? Who came up with the daft rule of jaegers every wicket?
Hehe
They sound like a pair of pissheads!!!

I don't like the England cricket team, is it really that hard to get your head around? I don't hate England, I just hate their cricket team. I'm fine with the national football team, in fact I'm planning my trip to the next world cup. I hate the arrogance, the cheating, the hypocrisy and the attitude. That is why I don't support them.
Do you feel better for getting that off your chest?

Awesome rant Dave lol.
I see Jims namesake appeared in a list of politicians who like to use their taxpayer funded perks.

That was so bad by the England batsmen.
The fifth straight first Test played overseas where theyve been bowled out for less than 200
