Dave, I seriously don't give a fig about stats.
I'm just hoping Lehmann and co are put back in their place.
-
Don, as far as I can see, Kallis has only performed with the bat.
He averages 40.36 with a high score of 147 and 5 tons.
Bowling is average at best 50 wickets at 37.56.
This is V Australia only.
Having said that, I do like him as a cricketer and as a human being. There are some great stories doing the rounds about him and his charity work.
Thats probably a better average than any England player in this series.
Hopefully Steyn will wreak havoc.
-
Im still gutted that Kallis has retired now and not after the next series.
-
Loving the podcasts with Geoffrey, it eases the pain somewhat.
Theres a chap who calls a spade a spade.
Ive enjoyed listening to him on the radio.
-
Congratulations Dave and enjoy the family time
-
In fact Lehmanns called Shrek for a good reason it seems!!
We will agree to disagree.
-
Sorry Dave but im not being demeaning.
Btw im still waiting for channel 9 to leak the mic recordings.
This Australian team is very abusive in their sledging and I wont change my mind about that.
Are you going to the SCG this week?
-
Yes hes changed the attitude..the team behaviour reflects his ugly comments in England re Broad.
Those articles back up what im saying..England have underperformed.
Thats not down to Lehmann either.
-
An underperforming England team..one that hadnt lost in 13 Tests prior to this series.
Now DaVe,perhaps you can provide me with a link to Aggers article?
Btw Australia are carrying at least 2 players.
-
I think you are getting carried away with Lehmanns influence.
Yes he's abandoned the rotation policy which has been a wise move.
Johnson has been in the right place at the right time. The bowlers have felt settled but he hasnt turned them into a hunting pack. The kookaburra always favours Australian bowlers too just as the Duke does for the English.
England have made Australia look good..Lehmann is a good coach but hes not the be all and end all. Id put that last bit in bold if I knew how to!
-
I look forward to the inquest into England's failings. This tour has perhaps been a timely wake up call re the need for changes in thinking etc
-
Bryan, for me, your third para says it all.
Something has happened. You don't fall apart like that without a reason. Trott leaving, that on it's own could be understandable, but when Swann gives it away?
The disappointing thing about this tour is being handed a thrashing at the hands of a (previously) inept Australian side. The only difference is Lehmann.
The change in Johnson is not down to Lehmann...McDermott and Lillee are responsible for that.
The South Africa series will be a test of how much Australia have progressed. I'd say not as much as the current scoreline suggests.
-
Why isnt Monty getting a bowl?
-
Bye bye slogger.
Good luck against Steyn,Morkel etc..
-
Its the outright ugliness of their behaviour which makes them tools in my opinion.Johnson eyeballing the batsman after every single ball and muttering. Haddin getting involved in every exchange and apoealing for non existent dismissals. Warner is just hard to like at all. A slogger on and off the pitch.
Ive had respect for previous Australian teams but not this one.And the worst thing is losing to such an average team.Thats how bad England have been.
Yeah, they only "sing when they're winning". Quote facility not working- I was replying to South Aussie Rover.
Indeed Tyrone but don't get me started on their supporters
-
Iknow what Haddin has gone through Dave.
He's still a tool as are Johnson and Warner.
Classless behaviour by the 3 of them..with Clarke and Lehmann not much better.
-
As for Johnson...a great series for him but im loathing his behaviour. Add Haddin and Warner to the list of contemptible characters too.
-
Apart from Cook and to an extent Pietersen, that was absolutely stupid batting by England.
-
That was a shocking miscalculation by Clarke. I reckon every run that England are ahead will count as double in the long run.
They have to get the 10th wicket cheaply.
-
Maybe it's the wicket?
-
Briefly moving away from the Ashes its sad to see the great Jacques Kallis announce his retirement from Test cricket.
-
Apparently he has now said he was referring to the likes of Michael Vaughan and Derek Pringle.
He should give Twitter and Facebook a rest for a while.
-
Anyone watching South Africa vs India at the moment.Great Test cricket but sadly few in the ground watching it.
-
Don, I'm just sorry he's not going to play in Sydney. It would have been an interesting battle.
Yes Dave I agree.
He's going to be a big loss to England and the game in general.

Banned for how many matches after a racist outburst against Sri Lanka?
He's brought his ugly side to coaching too..encouraging Aussie crowds to boo Broad epitomised his character.
Shrek is an apt moniker...end of.
